The radio itself was great.....but I wanted to take this to work and use headsets. As it is one of the few that has a headset jack...it was what I wanted. But...upon opening it and trying it out, the sound only comes out of one of the ear pieces. What the heck? So I returned it. If I had justed wanted the am/fm radio though, it was fine.

I enjoy having a portable radio around the house as well as in the yard while I am working. Unfortunately, the handle on the radio I have had for years broke, so I started to look for a replacement. Not too many to choose from and most of those are either junk or very expensive. About the time I was ready to give up I saw this great little portable radio from Sony. While it is not real high-tech nor does it have 5 different bands, it does what it was designed to do. Whether I am listening to AM talk or FM music, it meets my expectations. Love the little light indicator that visually shows whether or not I have a strong signal. Since I now notice that my wife is using it almost as much as I do, looks like I will need to buy a second one in order for me to have one too (ha).

Excellent am/fm radio. Principal use - listening to ballgames and music on rear deck.

I love this radio. I would like to know why Walmart is not carrying this item???? This radio is like an old-fashion one my Mom had from the 70's. I love that it feels well made and very small and compact just like a good radio from the past. PLEASE WALMART BRING THIS BACK!!! If it were available, I would buy another for safe keeping.

I bought this radio to replace my aging Sony radio of over 30 years. This radio is more compact than the one it is replacing. Sound quality is good and pulls in local stations strong and clear. All controls are analog. Nice design, with cord storage in battery compartment (you can pull out only as much cord as you need). Economically priced - especially if I can get similar service from this unit as with previous Sony product...

I am a big talk radio fan and there was not a radio that would pick up my favorite radio station in my home, so after reading the previous reviews, I decided to try the Sony ICF38 and it works very well!!!! It has an analog tuner, so I can really tweak it and position it just so and 95% of the time, I can tune in to my radio station! I highly recommend it and it's great that it's portable, too!

This little radio is perfect for my mom who resides in a nursing home and loves to have her radio on. We used many many batteries in her last three portable radios over the years. Now she can use her radio with the batteries or plug it in if staying in her room. Today's modern technology is making things like this little gem obsolete so buy now.

I am very pleased with my radio. I live in the N.J. pine barrens and have had trouble with other radios in getting my favorite FM station. Well I saw the reviews on this radio and decided to try again. I was so excited when I was able to tune in to my favorite station.

After being without power for a day, I was determined to find a portable radio to have on hand for any future power outages. It was the reviews of others that made me decide to purchase this radio.I have found it to be a great little radio for the price, size, tone, appearance and the reception it recieves! I highly recommend this radio! Living in a mobile home, I was somewhat uncertain how well the reception would be, I have had no problems at all with that and do not have to even use the antenae.

This radio has served me well. I took it to work and reception is excellant even within the enclosure of a building . I had another brand of the same type of radio but this one is better with reception. I am thinking of getting another one for home.
