Review 1 for Arkon SM432 Mega Grip Handlebar Mount
Seems Sturdy Enough

PROs : Price, Ease of installation, Seems solid enough.
CONs : None yet
Pretty simple installation that took just over 5 minutes. Went on easily to the widest point of my handlebars which is ~31mm (1.230") and are tapered. holds phone very solidly. After reading reviews of occasional breakages, etc I decided to add an electrical zip tie as extra security and piece of mind (photo added) that goes loosely around elastic on holder and handlebar. It must be noted I dont ride off road with the exception of dirt roads through the state forest.
Whilst riding and using RunKeeper on my iPhone the elastic security tethers do make it a little awkward to use the touch screen but I set up RunKeeper and music before I leave and all info is audible for distance, speed, pace, etc And I can still see the GPS map.
Bottom line is I am liking it so far.

No issues thus far. I would suggest using the extra bungees, though navigating a touch screen becomes tricky.

I am pleased with the cell phone mount. It makes my riding much easier having the Mapmyride application and my music right in front of me and safely accessible while I ride. Severe bumps tend to make the phone tilt downward as the ball joint is not as snug as it could be. But I think I can wrap a small piece of electrical tape on the ball and it will be fine.

Review 5 for Arkon SM432 Mega Grip Handlebar Mount
literally fell apart, don't trust with your phone!

I mounted on a road bike, and clamped my DroidX into it, secured with side clamps and elastic included. The phone was held well and all would have been fine, EXCEPT that one of the plastic pieces literally broke in half during my first ride with it after about 20 miles. I found out the hard way by hearing my phone and it's protective case bouncing and sliding down the road behind me. Luckily, the case (bodyglove) took most of the damage, but the phone is scratched badly and of course the screen protector was ruined (thank goodness I had one on it). After replacing the screen protector, my phone it functional but needs a new case. DO NOT RISK using this mount with your phone, unless your phone is not valuable to you. Find another sturdier option. It may be due the the fact that the road bike has very stiff tires at high pressure and a lot of bumps in the road produce vibration in the mount, so this may work ok if you're riding a slow, low-pressure tire bike, I'm not sure. But again, DO NOT USE THIS (at least not on a road bike) if you value your phone.

I use this product on my Motorcycle and it holds my phone very well. The ball mount enables the phone to be angled how you like it (roughly 10 degrees in any direction).
It's made entirely out of plastic so it's not going to last forever but for the price, that's acceptable.

This seems to fit the bill for doing what I wanted it to - holding my smart phone while I'm riding my bike. This allows me to see if someone's calling me, listen to Pandora radio or monitor my progress on cardio trainer. The foam on the sides of the grips hold my phone tightly and the built-in rubber band ensures your smartphone won't go flying every time you hit a bump.
