Your child can ride in style with the Metro BMX Bike from Hyper Bicycles. He'll love the freedom and mobility that this fun and stylish bike gives him.
I bought this BMX for my 11 year old son on his birthday and he thinks this bike is awesome. Its gote blue accents on the wheel rims and on the handlebars that really make it stand out. He also really likes that it was easy to assemble and that it has foot pegs on the front and rear wheels. And "most importan" it's cool to ride around on.

Review 4 for Hyper Bicycles 20" Metro BMX Bike, Black
Bought the bike un-assembled so it just came in a box. All we had to do was put the seat - pedals - handlebars - brakes and wheels on the bike. Seemed like an easy task?. I have a little knowledge of putting a bike together from my youth. Good job though instructions not easy to follow - poor diagrams. Guessed most of what had to be done with the help of my wife. Then got totally stuck on the simplest of things putting the front wheel on. The front wheel nut was on so tight made it virtually impossible to take off. After 60 minutes of fighting with it - eventually got the nut off. Also the bike front brake cable comes uncut so you have to cut the wire to length once in place. I used wire cutters - tin snips eventually cut to length. This probably shows the quality of the brake cables. Im sure if I had the tools of a professional bike assembler this would have not been an issue. This aside the bike is great value for money. It is on the heavy side. It is well made. Looks great. Nice touches on the padded seat one thing my son moaned about on his old bike. Pedals are metal - I had seen plastic pedals on most bikes in the price range. Overall very happy with the bike.

Review 5 for Hyper Bicycles 20" Metro BMX Bike, Black
I won't give an "Excellent" rating to something I've had for less than a month. So far we're very happy with it - my son loves it! He has ridden it quite a bit and so far it is holding up fine. The assembly instructions were terrible, especially for connecting the brakes - the diagrams did not match the bike.

Review 6 for Hyper Bicycles 20" Metro BMX Bike, Black
Part of front brake was installed backward, but easy enough to fix. Front brake cable was quite loose, so reset cable before using fine adustments. Good looking tires (decent tread). Concerned about longevity of seat post tightening bolt, but could prove OK. Ran pretty smoothly when fully assembled. Bottom line: decent value for the price.

Got this bike for our 9yr old son for 2012 christmas. Excellent size and weight for child rider. Our son is about 4 ft give or take2-3 inches. And weighs about 65lbs. This bike offers more than enough room to grow. Bike has a cool look and feel to it. Assembly is fairly easy with the exception of information to install front break line. The manual provided is generic and gives insight to various BMX bike systems. All information found on YouTube and other forums suggest removal of front break entirely for weight reasons. There is very limited information available on how to correctly install it. After extensive study of picture of bike I discovered how to attach break cable wires to front breaks. A definite pro is that the rear break system is attached and installed by manufacture.

Review 9 for Hyper Bicycles 20" Metro BMX Bike, Black
Picked this bike up for Christmas for my 11 year old. The price was $129 in store, but got it for $119, which was the on-line price. I like the construction of this bike. I chose this one over some similar, lesser priced bikes because it seemed this one was built better. The seat is larger and cushier than the cheaper bikes. I took it off the rack so I did not have to build it once home. It looks real nice. It has not been ridded yet because it is a gift. The price was a bit higher than others, but I was able to get a lower on-line price in store so that helped.

I shopped around a lot, and in the end, I bought it, planning to upgrade next year. I'm not that picky but:
- BRAKES. they're worthless. I bought this because not many BMX bikes have front brakes. Well, as it turns out, neither does this one. Even a propper tuning did nothing. - HARD to pedal. It feels like I'm going uphill even when it's flat. There's no momentum, and no coasting on flat ground. - The cranks LOOK bomb proof. Nuh-uh. They got all creaky on me and then broke in a month - Heavy. If you ride this, and then a real BMX bike, you'll instantly understand. Even if you aren't into bikes, the difference is obvious. - Tiny. NO, not in a good way. even for a BMX bike.
A great bike for a kid. Truly. But not for an adult. Buy a Sapient bike from The-House.com. These are great bikes. I bought one, and it feels AMAZING compared to this thing.

This bike frame is very light and sturdy along with the rims.have walmart build it for you or buy it there for better sevice.Once i took off the reflectors in the wheels and by the seat and bars it looked like a $300 bike. The only flawsare the freewheel ( small sproket type wheel that spins the chain in the back of the bike) and pedals. The chainwheel is small and allows pedaling to be harder, upgrade to a larger one for about $18 for an unbelivable change. The pedals are odd shaped and i would upgrade to better quality ones for about $15.everything is unbelievable in quality, like the brakes, handle bars and stem.Highly recomended for even an expert, very sturdy and light.Parts could be found at danscomp.com.

Cheap and worthwhile bike

I bought this bike when it was $99 about 4 months ago, and for being a "Walmart" bike it's really great and was a good choice. If you're looking to use this bike to go off jumps and do tricks (as I do), it works fine, even though the manual disapproves it. It's pretty light, and when I took off the front brakes, and other miscellaneous parts, it is about 24 lb which is an awesome weight considering the type of frame. If you are looking for a decent BMX to do tricks on, but you don't want to pay $600+, then this is your bike.
I suggest buying plastic pedals because the medal ones a lot when you hit yourself. Also, turn down the breaks using quick adjusting to avoid ruining the blue rims. (Mine are all gone :( )

This is a great kid's bike, and a good starter for kid's wanting to learn BMX type tricks. My only criticism would be that we purchased the bike online because we live over an hour from a Walmart. The website said that there were no bikes of this type in any of the stores near us. So, we were very disappointed to walk into our closest Walmart 2 weeks later to find the same bike $20.00 cheaper - and with no shipping. So, while we are happy with the product, we probably will not purchase online again.

My daughter picked this bike out and it is great! Lightweight, looks great, comfy seat, nice tires! The only issue we had putting it together is the hand brakes. One of the hand brakes ended up getting broken becasue the directions were somewhat difficult to follow. Otherwise we would recommend this bike, it is a great bike for a great price!

This bike tops all the bikes that we have ever bought my son and that means alot for hyper bikes he has destroyed every bike he has got but this one. Two thumbs up hyper bike company. This is by far the toughest bike on the market today without buying from high dollar bike shops.

Trust me, do NOT buy this bike. Yeah, it comes with three piece cranks, but the gearing isn't 25/9, it's 26/10, which is just weird. The stock bars are too small on it. The seat is horrible. I took off pegs, chainguard, stickers, brakes, gyro, kickstand, everything that was just extra weight. From JUST RIDING (not doing any jumps or anything), my back hub gave out in a month and a half. My forks also bent from JUST RIDING the bike. And I can't replace my hub because standard for BMX is 36 spokes on a wheel, each one on here has 48. This bike is absolutely horrible. Save up for an Eastern, Premium, Fit, Sunday, or Kink. Even a DK from walmart is better than this
