I bought this microphone because I had some voice mail messages on my cell phone that I wanted to put on a CD, the person has passed away and I wantd their voice.
This microphone is great, it is small but very powerful. Great and compact too.
Some of the other ones I looked at were to big, this one was pefect all the way around.

This is an excellent little mic for both my desktop and my netbook. On my desktop I plugged it into the side mic in port and it works excellently. I use it for Skype calls, TeamSpeak, SecondLife or voice recognition. It is easy to position it so its pointing where i need it to point and no cable to worry about hiding away or getting tangled into anything.

I have only been using this mic for a few weeks and only use it with my google voice account. So far so good, though! It performs well for its compact size and travels well with my laptop. There are no chords to deal with which is nice. We'll see how it pans out in the long term! Great price as well.

Review 5 for Micro Innovations MM760 Mini Microphone
excellent netbook computer microphone

I bought this to improve communications on our netbook when using Skype. I ordered it using the website and picked it up at the local Wal-Mart I pass to work. The item arrived almost a week ahead of schedule. In operation, the microphone increased communicatons markedly. Since most netbook built-in mics are on the side or underneath by the fan, performance is poor. The minute I plugged this mic in, the person on the other end of the Skype conversation immediately noted the improvement. Her comments were "increased clarity, and distinct volume improvements". The design of the mic is very intelligent, as it is small and conducive as most netbook accessories are. Since the mic does not use a USB connection, that saves a port on the netbook for another device (such as a sound bar). Using the standard mic jack allows the microphone to rotate easily for better performance. Although it appears small in the website photo, it is larger than expected and thus less likely to be lost, but small enough not to be an appededage to be left on the netbook. I am very pleased with its construction quality and design.

Bought this as an external microphone for my Digital Voice Recorder. It picks up sounds that I would have missed with just the internal microphone. Good price for what I wanted without adding bulk to the size of the equipment I use. Good buy for any hobbiest who uses DVR's.

I have a 17" Acer laptop, and wanted to improve on the sound quality of voice recordings and video-chatting. So for $9 (shipped to the nearby Walmart), I figure I'd give the MM760 a shot.
Yes, it improves on the built-in microphone. It's not studio-quality, but I didn't expect it to be and it's more than adequate. Keep in mind that the microphone is just one part of recording. Other software and hardware components make a difference, too.
It swivels and rotates, so when I angle it towards my head, it protrudes less than an inch from the side of the laptop, then upwards about a 1.5 inches.
I adjusted the recording level (Windows 7) to 100%, with a 20dB boost, noise suppression, and echo cancellation. That seems to work best in my normal speakng position, about two feet back from the laptop, and speak in a normal voice as if to a person seated next to me.
I suppose an "operator" style headset microphone would provide better voice recording, but this device is compact, sans cord, is very unobtrusive, and extremely portable. I use a wireless "nano" mouse, so I keep the microphone in the same travel pouch, along with ear buds for private listening, and an extra mouse battery.
