I like the Playbook very much because its easy to carry on everywhere i go vs. my Laptop. Also i own a Blackberry phone so this make it easier for me to get phone and tablet to work together without any app.

With the new OS 2.0 that installs when you boot it up, the past issues with lack of access to android apps goes away. Also email is now included. This tab has a beautiful display and is a real bargain for those looking for function and style. I just wish Blackberry had a larger option, but for portability, you can't beat this tab.

I'm not tech savvy. This led to some unexplainable problems. The Blackberry help was extremely helpful and patient with me. After a week or so all is well. Interesting technology. A good buy for the money. I WOULD recommend to a tech savvy friend, But, not sure I would to another older person like myself

Since I am a computer science major, I could go on about the techy stuff, but I decided to write this review in a way that makes sense to the general public. That being said: in short, this thing rocks. It works well, and smooth; its price was good; its size is in my opinion perfect (small enough to fit in the back pocket of my shorts (big pockets), but big enough to have a good screen size); easily networked; well laid out configuration for navigating... BUT, as others have stated, there could be more apps available for it (I have not tried side-loading apps, and I most likely won't so I can't give any reviews on that process either). One thing I will say that is somewhat a negative... I'm just not crazy about the picture quality of this thing in certain situations. it does well outside in the sunlight, but once inside - especially at night - the pictures tend to come out grainy and almost like there is a sepia filter. This doesn't really bother us as we have a nice DSLR camera if we want good pictures. I got this for my wife for her birthday, and she loves it - and so do the kids. There are some addicting games out there for it, but beyond just games this thing is handy to have around. I haven't got to use it much, but I have mapped it as a drive on my laptop and can now transfer files (pictures, music, documents etc...) back and forth between the two without bothering whoever is using the playbook. It comes with software that opens doc/docx etc... and pdf files - my only complaint is that there is no search function within the adobe reader (if there is I couldn't find it). We do not have a blackberry phone so I can't tell you anything about the bridging features... but I can say that it seems well worth the money we paid. The web browser seems to work great, I don't know that she has found a web page yet that didn't work properly when opened. The way the device is navigated really seems well thought out; you slide from the area around the screen towards the screen from either the top, bottom or sides (or even a particular corner) for certain menus and options (like bringing the keyboard up). Putting this thing on a wireless network is a breeze, and it seems to work well with my network; and it does have some security features built in as well - make sure you remember the password you gave it when you go to map this device as a disk drive on another computer.

It is a very good tablet. The ONLY and BIGGEST downfall to Blackberry's tablet it the lack of apps that it's competitor, Android, market has. No Netflix, no free games like the Android and apple markets. Not very compatible with music and videos. However, it is great at organizing, surfing the web, giving presentations, reading books, and other business type things. My final words, of you're looking for a fun tablet to play around with but and Android or Apple tablet, of you're looking for a business, more mature tablet, this is the tablet for you.

I was going to buy a Ipad and at the store the associate was telling me about the Blackberry pad. The one they had was 500.00 but told me he could get it for me for a better deal. I saw it on the website for 199.99. I wound up buying itand I do not really know much about pads at all. This one has some games and apps I could download. You can print to your printer. It does not have all the apps my I phone has but for someone whom wants to surf the web, play pogo ... it is perfect !! For the price you cannot go wrong.

This is a great tablet for the iOS but when you go to their app store they dont have enough apps but just average apps like facebook, my space and other networks. I REALLY liked this tablet and some people might say that the power button is too small and its really not all that small. You can push normaly or if u cant they have a "turn off" app thing that allows u to turn off the tablet without pushing the power button.

I held off buying the Playbook because of the expense, but when it was reduced t o $200 I decided to buy. I have a Blackberry Bold and the Playbook and Bold work well together. Blackberry Bridge makes getting on the internet on a tablet without paying additional charges beyond what I was already billed for my phone was great. Blackberry Bridge means paying extra on the smartphone account for tethering is not necessary. The only issue I have with Playbook, is that upgrades to the operating system are ugly. If your Playbook straight out of the box requires an upgrade, I HIGHLY recommend you use the Desktop application to install it. I've gone through 2 version upgrades since getting my Playbook and neither would work until I used Desktop Manager. This may be an issue with my Wifi speed, I'm not sure. Customer service is free the first 90 days and they assisted me with that first version upgrade. Once I got past that, I LOVED my Playbook. I don't think this tablet is useful to someone who doesn't have a Blackberry phone to pair it with - there are other $200 tablets that would be better in that case. The beauty of the Playbook is really how it plays with the phone.

Review 15 for BlackBerry PlayBook 16GB PBOOK16-N-A01 7.0" BlackBerry Tablet OS
For $200, amazing deal. Use of Flash is awesome

After returning the two Playbooks I purchased from Walmart.com (due to them arriving opened, dirty, and defective) to one of their store locations, I drove a mile down the street to BestBuy and purchase two brand new unopened Playbooks (for a lower price). I now love my Playbooks (these actually work, thanks BestBuy).
Pros: The use of Flash is exceptional. I'm able to view full websites rather than watered down mobile sites. The Operation System is user friendly and useful. Switching between apps is smooth and consistent. The biggest plus is the Flash though. Being able to watch any video or clip directly from websites is pretty nice.
Cons: The biggest downside is that it is not an Apple product. The extra 10% that Apple puts into its products is not evident in the Playbook. The OS is buggy at times, closing or freezing apps often enough. While BB has greatly improved on the keyboard/typing feature in their OS 2.0, it is still not on par with Apple's. Plus the lack of Apps in their app store is a big downer. While I'm optimistic that they are soon to be having some interface with Android (they are giving away Playbooks to Android app developers), currently the App World is quite underpopulated.
Closing: Overall, the Playbook has far exceeded my expectations, especially with their OS2.0 release. If the difference between the iPad and the Playbook is that last 10%, but I got the Playbook at 40% the iPad price, I consider it an exceptional product. I'm one happy consumer. Thanks Blackberry and BestBuy!

I usually do not write reviews on products. Please do not waste your time looking at this product. I returned it the day after I received it in the mail. It arrived opened and the tablet wasn't sealed and the product looked liked it was used by someone and returned to the store and then Wal-mart decided to send it to me. The product wouldn't charge, so I returned it.

for under $200.00 the blackberry playbook is above and beyond the best 7 inch tablet in the market today. it has a lightning fast 1ghz dual core processor with an operating system that allows for the best multitasking capabilities in the market today. the playbook multi tasks better than any ipad could ever!! buy one and u will see what i'm talking about. u can have several windows or apps open at the same time and seamlessly flow back and forth from app to app. HDMI PORT which is great for hooking the tablet up to your hdtv. beautiful HD dual front and rear cameras. in just a few days blackberry's new operating system os 2.0 will be launched giving u the ability to download android apps amongst a couple of other cool features. this tablet also has the full internet experience with ADOBE FLASH built in!! the blackberry app world is good but os 2.0 will give u even more apps to download!

I've had this for a few months now and decided I can make a review now.
The cons: -Reports wireless not connecting at wireless N speed, but as G. However Speedtest shows it connecting as fast as it should, so it is just a reporting issue on the playbook. -Doesn't have native e-mail or calendar yet, but the next upgrade OS 2.0 shown at CES will have it.
The pros: -Best bang for the buck. I bought it over the Kindle Fire because of the better specs and they were priced the same. -Charging the battery once to twice a WEEK. On HEAVY use it still lasts me the day. I just keep WiFi off unless I am using something that needs it. -It has ran smooth and bug free (at least after that last update way back in November I think). -Get several months of free support if needed. Always a plus. -The app market has grown to have something of everything I need. Don't need 100,000+ apps when I don't use 100,00+ apps.
Overall it has met my expectations of what I wanted it to do. Not a laptop replacement, just as my laptop isn't my desktop replacement.
