Better than I expected!! Wow, I was very happy with this item! It has many good features that I used to help me. I like it because it is small and compact. It has many good features that were handy for me. When I needed to locate a restaurant or gasoline station this GPS did what I expected. Very good item and the price was very good. I got my moneys worth.
We are on our second 1100lm after Garmin replaced the first one, 3 months after Christmas when the speaker went out. We now have the same problem with the replacement item. Garmin customer service is good though. If you use the email contact, they reply right away and give you a RMA #. The replacement item was sent right away, surely a refurbished unit, but it came fast and my husband was able to go back to using it right away. Now that his speaker has gone out again, we don't think we really want to get the same unit again. I haven't had time to search through all 403 reviews to see if others are having problems with the speakers. I just put in for another repair ticket with Garmin.....sigh.
It works perfectly for what I bought it for. Garmin seems to be the only manufacturing company of the automotive gps units to use software that I can input coordinates using latitude and longitude. Thank you Garmin.
I bought this for my granddaughter's 16th birthday & was afraid it wouldn't arrive on time. I knew the product was good because I bought one for myself & my daughter-in-law prior to this one. I was so surprised when it arrived in a matter of days & I was able to wrap it and bring it to the birthday party.
Purchased product for Trip to Costa Rica (which has no road or street names) and purchased the Garmin Costa Rica chip. Product worked great. Never got lost. Highly recommend!
I went to NYC, NY for the first time. I wanted to explore part of NYC on foot. So I decided to use pedestrian mode on this device. The device did not catch the signal for more than 15 mins. I changed to Automobile mode, even then it did not catch the signal. Entire day it did not catch the signal when I was in NYC. I came back to place. And it worked as expected. I did not understand this behavior.
Great price. Item just as described - only better!

I am very happy with this item.I have just moved to my current residence 6 months ago, & am just learning my way around town. With this, I drive like a naitve. Awesome!
Upcoming trip in a week, so I ordered one of these and it was shipped to the store within just a few days.
HOWEVER, the unit turned on and operated long enough to do the initial map update, then shut itself off -- permanently. It just went totally dead.
Too late to order another one, but I don't think I would anyway, if this is any indication of Garmin's current quality. I've got an old Garmin C330 that just keeps on working, but the map updates are $89. I figured it would save some money to just buy a new unit with lifetime updates for $69. But, doesn't do much good if the thing doesn't work at all.
Bought this as a replacement for my nuvi 260, which we use all the time for recreational and business travel. I was going to update my maps, but discovered the cost for one update was about $50 and a lifetime update was $80. Seemed to make more sense to buy a newer model with lifetime updates included. Set up and start up usage were intuitive and completely in keeping with the older model. No weird surprises.
I got what I expected---mostly. Poor navigation in the categories is not user-friendly. I liked the lifetime maps so that is the big positive. Tomtom was listed 2 weeks later with twice the usability for $10 more---oh well. To those contemplating a GPS, the primary leaders all do the job---some better than others. Price, usability, and options influence the selection. I let price lead me. My mistake. This was a $70 bundle
I was amazed when this GPS arrived site to store. I was hesitant to get this GPS because I thought the small size of the screen would be a problem, but it worked just fine for us. The features are an added bonus and the "attractions" feature which finds things to do near where you are really came in handy while out of town! I have recommended this GPS to other people because of the quality, price, and just a great product :)
