HUGE TENT, great for family!

Great product for low price. The tent is nice and tall to stand in. Lots of room for queen size air mattress on stand plus two dog kennels with room to spare for stuff. No problems with wind or leaks in heavy rain, did spray with tent sealant protector. Nice sized windows and ventilation. Tent poles are of good quality, easy/quick set up with two people. Only complaint is the screen door is not private unless pull down red canopy also with 2 zippers on each side. Inner Screen door zippers in T-shape have to bend all the way down to unzip door. D-shaped would be better with privacy option on door. Still love it! Lots of Fun!

We purchased this tent last spring (2012), and we've been very happy with it. I sealed all the seams, which you should do with any tent, but it handles rain well. The first time we used it, we were hit with a severe thunderstorm in the night and so much rain that you could feel it flowing underneath the tent, but it held up beautifully. A couple of small leaks, but they were handled with a hand towel and a washcloth. Wind was no problem, despite the large size of the tent. This is a BIG tent. We don't use the "room separator" at all...and I'm not sure it adds anything, really. So if you're looking for privacy, this probably doesn't fit the bill. We all like our air mattresses, so we fit a raised queen on one side, and then we put a single, lengthwise across the back wall in the middle. Two singles go lengthwise on the other side, front wall and back wall, with a couple of feet in between to walk, which is amazing. There is still a bunch of room in the middle section, enough to put the dog crate in there, our clothes/equipment, and a rug inside the door. We hang a light/fan combo in the ceiling with a carabiner and it works great. Lots of room to move around; plenty of height (husband is 6'2"). There are a couple of pockets to put glasses, sunscreen, etc in, but not a lot. The door is mesh, with a flap that either can be put up with poles like a little entrance or zipped down to keep rain out...and if you don't like those choices, there are ties to hold the flap out of the way. There are no ties for the windows, though. It doesn't really bother us, especially since it's such a good tent for the price. We were looking for a big tent with decent quality for some summer camping in Minnesota. This one lets out the hot air through the mesh top, lets the breeze blow through on all sides with nice big windows, keeps out the bugs, and keeps us dry when we have to batten down the hatches for rainstorms. Putting it up is no problem, though usually it's the two of us and it's done within 5-10 mins. Very straightforward, no weird parts or sections. I hope Walmart sells this tent for a long, long time...so when we finally wear this out, we can buy another!!

I have had this tent for nearly 3 years. We went camping in the beginning of May 2013 and it was rainy, well it leaked horribly from where the nylon bit meets the flooring. If any amount of water builds up for any length of time it starts to drip. I got a good couple of years out of and when it isn't rainy it is awesome! Also invest in stronger tent steaks. It goes up pretty easy considering the size, rain fly can be tricky at first until you figure out what side goes where.

Our family was growing and we were looking for a tent to comfortably fit a queen air matress, and two additional matresses. Not only is there PLENTY of room in this tent, we had some overnight rain and wind, and this tent stayed dry and secure. Finally, compared to other higher priced tents, the value of this tent for cost versus what you get, is unmatched. Highly recommend!

Review 6 for Ozark Trail 10-Person 3-Room XL Camping Tent

Really nice but I returned it

The reason why I returned this tent is not because it had any malfunctioning part or anything. 1st I bought it online and fell in love with the style looking like a little house.
It arrived and we assembled it. Pretty easy I can say. It helped me very much a video of youtube of a guy who has this same tent and he shows how to assemble it. 2 things made me return it. Once it was assembled this thing was huge and I think that was the mayor reason why I returned it. We are a family of 4 ( parents and 2 girls). All the campgrounds I called would hardly let me put up 2 tents of the size 14x8. This tent I believe is 17x20. We are planning to take my mother camping with us but with her own tent, so I needed 2 tents not too large. Once assembled it is very very spacious. The way I visualized it was in each corner a bedroom ( one for the girls and one for us). In each bedroom a queen. The middle part can be a rest area ( like a living room) to sit down and play cards or set up a table kitchen with all your stuff. It can also accomodate 3 queen mattresses in a row. I would say it would be to tight to fit 10 people in there unless one next to each other in a row in sleeping bags with no space between each other.
But if you want to have space to move around I would say a family of 6-7 even 8 would be a decent number. It has plenty of windows for ventilation also. The other reason why I returned it is that in cold weather this tent would be hard to keep it warm because of the size. 3rd reason was I did not like the color once assembled,I wanted the one with the red rainfly but when I was about ot order it said out of stock and the only one left was blue and beige with blue rainfly. It looked like so dead for me ( no vibrant color) and not cozy at all. So I returned it for the ozark 17x8 and bought my mom the 14x8 ozark and we are happy with the space. I can fit them in the campgrounds within the rules, big enough but not exagerated large. And the colors I loved whih are sky blue with light blue it makes it look so pretty in the inside and cozy.
But Overall this is a good sized tent and if you are planning to tent in a place with no restrictions of tent size this can be perfect. Now my issue is that in the private campgrounds where I camp at ,they charge 35 per site and maximum 6 persons per site and max 2 tents( restrictions in size). I wanted for the same 35 accomodate both tents in the campsite mines and my moms. If you onloy have this tent to go camping you should not have issues.

We have not used this tent as of yet--the trip is next week. However, it was EXTREMELY easy to put up, take down and pack away in our trial run. It took no time at all and seems to be sturdy. It certainly is very roomy. I will add more once we use the item while camping in Nebraska.

Not three room tent. one room with typical cheap dividers, so we were a little disappointed. great room on the inside, enough room for plenty. sturdy, didn't have rain during use, so no input there...good sized tent bag, so don't have to worry about not making it fit back in the bag. great value for the money spent. :)

The tent itself is nice, easy to put up/take down....but...it is NOT like what was pictured! The picture shows doors in the end as well as in the center front....NOT! That was the main reason we picked this model! There are NO doors in the end. We wanted that so that when camping with others, you can get out of the tent without disturbing others sleeping. It also does NOT have the square door in front like the picture shows, it's round and short!

Our Family LOVES this tent!

This is our families' first tent and we love it. I had NEVER helped put a tent together before and my husband and I had this one set up easily in about 40 minutes the 1st time and about 20-25 min each time after that. We've used it 4 times so far and really like everything about it. It is well ventilated and lets a breeze blow through (with all the windows unzipped). It's very roomy...we use a queen air mattress and have 2 twin air mattresses for our kids and those only take up about 1/2 the space. The 1st time we set it up, we did so in the backyard just for 1 night. Just as we were finishing set-up a huge black cloud appeared and rained fairly hard for about 20 min., we went in the house to wait out the rain and when we went back outside were pleasantly surprised that there was not a drop of water in the tent.

I looked at alot of tents online and this tent was by far the biggest tent at the lowest price. Other sites are selling tents this big for over $200. With plenty of room to sleep 4 people and store all you're camping needs inside I can definitely say that I'm pleased with this tent.

Purchased this tent on a Sunday eve and received it at home on Wednesday.
We put it up one time at home prior to camping, (so we wouldn't look like idiots at the campground!). Initial set-up was a little confusing as the poles are not well-marked, however, once we sorted it all out it was easy!
We've taken it out two weekends now and my 13 year old and I can have it completely set up and staked down in less than 10 minutes.
I did purchase a couple of sets if extra Coleman stakes as the ones that came with the tent did their job, but were pretty generic.
Overall, I'd rate this tent a 10/10 for its size, durability and great value!

We tent camped for one week as our first time tent camping. I researched the internet for tent camping to no avail, and decided on this tent. We waterproofed it, and we were very fortunate because we did not get any rain all week therefore we cannot speak for durability during the rain. There was more then enough room for 2 adults, 2 kids (ages 15 and 11), and yellow lab. This tent worked out great for us as first time campers.

What I received was Not what I ordered. Pic shows an entirely different tent. I ordered blue and did not know that by ordering a different color who change it to a smaller size and 2 lesser doors. Walmart did credit me a small amount but still has not been fixed on the walmart.com pages. I kept the tent they sent because i did not have enough time to return and reorder before my scheduled camp out.

Excellent Tent

I did a lot of research on best tent values on the Internet prior to purchasing this tent and found this to be the best value for my family. We ordered the blue and tan one via the Walmart website using the free home shipping and received it the next day at our door from Fedex. It was packed nicely in and without any damage. We had a family tent in the past but it was a real pain to put up and take down, so we decided to get rid of it. This tent was completely opposite. It is one of the easiest tents to put up. It took me only 20 minutes to put up the first time all by myself. There are instructions in the bag and also a set sewn into the bag. I found the instructions very easy to understand and it had progress pictures included to show what it should look like as you progress through the set up. The poles are shock corded fiberglass and they slid through the guides on the tent with ease. There are also 4 steel corded poles that are used as the risers.
I know there are a lot of great reviews on this tent but there also seems to be a bunch of bad reviews too, so I would like to try and clear some things up.
1. I don't think they make the red and tan ozark anymore. This seems to be the tent that most people are complaining about. I got the Blue & Tan one, so let me explain the changes that they made. There is only one entry into the tent, through a C- type zippered door. This door DOES have its own window screen with a zippered cover, just like all the other windows. You no longer have to take the canopy down for privacy.
2. All the screened windows do have covers that zip closed. Instead of having ties to keep them stowed while open, they tuck into a flap. I found this easier than having to tie them and untie them every time.
3. The poles were nice and plenty strong enough to hold the tent up in strong winds. You do need to make sure all your guy wires are tied down tightly as this tent is big enough to blow away without them.
4. The tent comes with the cheap tent stakes and the yellow plastic stakes. They give you a spare of each as well. I recommend that you replace these with the heavy duty 10 inch spikes/tent nails.
5. The material on the walls is thin as some have said but it is durable. This is not a cold weather tent (snow) but then again, I'm not a snow tent camper either. This tent stays cool in the warm weather and breathes nicely.
6. The rainfly covers the tent well and sits tightly down to it. It has bungee type hooks, velcro, and material ties. A little over kill but maybe they were trying to address some of the prior tent model complaints. It covers the no see em netted roof tight. While we didn't have any rain, I don't see how any rain could blow past it either.
7. The room dividers are just hanging curtains. At first, I didn't like this, as I agreed with everyone else and wanted something more with a door to the rooms and more privacy. But then I realized that they could be used in different configurations also to change the sizes of the rooms. So basically, I'm neutral on this issue. I can say that they help the tent to stay cool the way they have them, and lets get real, I have 3 kids, exactly how much privacy do I expect while in a tent?
8. The e-port doesn't have a zipper to close but never seemed to be a problem with bugs entering.
9. There is a small access door to the left of the tent door. This can be uses for a number of things and is a vey useful addition. It zips closed or open and is in the shape of an L. Doggy door? AC port? Or just to be able to access the interior of the tent without having to go in.
10. I thought the tent tub was just as thick as any other tent i have seen. i recommend a extra tarp under any tent that you may be using anyways.
11. The tent stowage bag. Seem sturdy enough to me. Nice heavy duty double zipper. No wheels but the tent isn't heavy enough to require them...my 7 year old could carry it. Plenty of room to pack the tent back in plus the 20 x 16 foot tarp I use under the tent. There is a bag provided for the poles and another bag for the tent spikes. Plenty of room for everything and not bulging at the zipper.
I think that should cover everything as far as the complaints. It is a very nice tent and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a big tent...it is BIG. It also seems to me that the maker Ozark has done a great job at upgrading this tent to address prior concerns.

It leaked and collapsed

We loved this tent...it was big and easy to put up. However we set it up in our backyard for two days and it leaked not even from rain just morning dew. Literally dripping in the tent. Also a nice 15m/hr breeze in the yard made the back of the tent collaps into the middle. We had to add our own tie downs from the back of the tent to hold it up. We were willing to deal with that because it did fix the problem however once we started leaking even after coating the tent twice with camp dry we had to return it. Too bad..I can not find a tent this roomy for the price.
