Pretty easy to put up. We put it up in the backyard, haven't used it yet for camping. It was fairly easy to put up and next time should be even easier. Very roomy. It has met our expectations so far.

What I received was Not what I ordered. Pic shows an entirely different tent. I ordered blue and did not know that by ordering a different color who change it to a smaller size and 2 lesser doors. Walmart did credit me a small amount but still has not been fixed on the walmart.com pages. I kept the tent they sent because i did not have enough time to return and reorder before my scheduled camp out.

Bought it home and did a test run to make sure it meets our expectations. You can tell from the construction that this won't last very long. The tabs on the room dividers broke within a few minutes.

Excellent Tent

I did a lot of research on best tent values on the Internet prior to purchasing this tent and found this to be the best value for my family. We ordered the blue and tan one via the Walmart website using the free home shipping and received it the next day at our door from Fedex. It was packed nicely in and without any damage. We had a family tent in the past but it was a real pain to put up and take down, so we decided to get rid of it. This tent was completely opposite. It is one of the easiest tents to put up. It took me only 20 minutes to put up the first time all by myself. There are instructions in the bag and also a set sewn into the bag. I found the instructions very easy to understand and it had progress pictures included to show what it should look like as you progress through the set up. The poles are shock corded fiberglass and they slid through the guides on the tent with ease. There are also 4 steel corded poles that are used as the risers.
I know there are a lot of great reviews on this tent but there also seems to be a bunch of bad reviews too, so I would like to try and clear some things up.
1. I don't think they make the red and tan ozark anymore. This seems to be the tent that most people are complaining about. I got the Blue & Tan one, so let me explain the changes that they made. There is only one entry into the tent, through a C- type zippered door. This door DOES have its own window screen with a zippered cover, just like all the other windows. You no longer have to take the canopy down for privacy.
2. All the screened windows do have covers that zip closed. Instead of having ties to keep them stowed while open, they tuck into a flap. I found this easier than having to tie them and untie them every time.
3. The poles were nice and plenty strong enough to hold the tent up in strong winds. You do need to make sure all your guy wires are tied down tightly as this tent is big enough to blow away without them.
4. The tent comes with the cheap tent stakes and the yellow plastic stakes. They give you a spare of each as well. I recommend that you replace these with the heavy duty 10 inch spikes/tent nails.
5. The material on the walls is thin as some have said but it is durable. This is not a cold weather tent (snow) but then again, I'm not a snow tent camper either. This tent stays cool in the warm weather and breathes nicely.
6. The rainfly covers the tent well and sits tightly down to it. It has bungee type hooks, velcro, and material ties. A little over kill but maybe they were trying to address some of the prior tent model complaints. It covers the no see em netted roof tight. While we didn't have any rain, I don't see how any rain could blow past it either.
7. The room dividers are just hanging curtains. At first, I didn't like this, as I agreed with everyone else and wanted something more with a door to the rooms and more privacy. But then I realized that they could be used in different configurations also to change the sizes of the rooms. So basically, I'm neutral on this issue. I can say that they help the tent to stay cool the way they have them, and lets get real, I have 3 kids, exactly how much privacy do I expect while in a tent?
8. The e-port doesn't have a zipper to close but never seemed to be a problem with bugs entering.
9. There is a small access door to the left of the tent door. This can be uses for a number of things and is a vey useful addition. It zips closed or open and is in the shape of an L. Doggy door? AC port? Or just to be able to access the interior of the tent without having to go in.
10. I thought the tent tub was just as thick as any other tent i have seen. i recommend a extra tarp under any tent that you may be using anyways.
11. The tent stowage bag. Seem sturdy enough to me. Nice heavy duty double zipper. No wheels but the tent isn't heavy enough to require them...my 7 year old could carry it. Plenty of room to pack the tent back in plus the 20 x 16 foot tarp I use under the tent. There is a bag provided for the poles and another bag for the tent spikes. Plenty of room for everything and not bulging at the zipper.
I think that should cover everything as far as the complaints. It is a very nice tent and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a big tent...it is BIG. It also seems to me that the maker Ozark has done a great job at upgrading this tent to address prior concerns.

Review 5 for Ozark Trail 10-Person 3-Room XL Camping Tent

It leaked and collapsed

We loved this tent...it was big and easy to put up. However we set it up in our backyard for two days and it leaked not even from rain just morning dew. Literally dripping in the tent. Also a nice 15m/hr breeze in the yard made the back of the tent collaps into the middle. We had to add our own tie downs from the back of the tent to hold it up. We were willing to deal with that because it did fix the problem however once we started leaking even after coating the tent twice with camp dry we had to return it. Too bad..I can not find a tent this roomy for the price.

This tent was great!!!! Plenty of room for kids and family!!!! We had two queen size air mattress and lots of toys for the kids!!! Wasn't tripping over each other because it was so roomy!!! We camped at the KOA on Hattaras Island and had a thunderstorm blow thru with winds of 70 mile per hour it was scary but the tent held up!!! It did leak a little because my husband didnt close a window all the way but other than that ... We were pretty dry!!!!! I would recommend this tent to anyone who plans on camping with a lot of people or little kids so they have plenty of room to play around if it rains!!! Make sure you use it as you wanna use it more than once treat it with a sealer around the seams check all poles and ties for any wear n tear!!!! And have a blast the more family and friends you can have with you the more fun and memories to make!!!!

ordered this tent, free shipping, on my doorstep in 2 days, this tent is huge, maybe not for the beginner, I have had good luck with my other ozark trail tent, used it fot 15 years with no problem, we camp maybe 2-4 times a year, with 2 childeren, we needed a larger tent, boy is this tent big! you need to get the coleman tent stakes, throw away the junky stakes that come with the tent, and get a tarp to put under this tent, the floor is a little thin, overall a great tent, the rain fly can be a little tricky to install by yourself but not impossible, there are a few videos on u-tube for this tent, also if you use blow up beds you are wasting a good nights sleep, get a good cot, I use the bass pro shops oversized cot, I can fit 4 in this tent, and have storage under each cot, air matt's are no good, good luck, Bass fisherman from KY!!

VERY CHEAP! Not good quality

We set up the tent last weekend for the first time and noticed pin holes in the rain fly, then we saw that the seams weren't sewn correctly and were splitting at the zipper. Yuck. I planned on calling the company to report this when a gust of wind blew the tent over. No big deal, we set it back up and tied the guys tighter. The next gust of wind SNAPPED the two center poles. Rendering the tent completely useless.
When I spoke with the customer service rep he delicately told me that this is their lowest end brand. The next one up is the Wenzel (which isn't made much better) and then the top of the line is the Ketly #sold at REI). We checked into the differences and the poles are TOTALLY different. The seams are sewn so much better AND the design actually allows for wind and rain.
Bottom line, if you plan to use the tent more than one night, buy something better. This is one of those situations where you get what you pay for.

Terribly Made

I spent weeks just like most of you reviewing this tent. I went to every website there was. Most people loved it but the people that didn't were dead right. I read a lot of people saying they got "the lemmon" in the bunch and that's exactly what I got. I bought it and put it up in the back yard that day intent on sealing it with weatherproofer. Lord have mercy, all of the seams were stretched or weak. The steel poles on top had so much tension I was afraid they would break. The rain fly attaches to a fabric loop that is ON the tent fabric itself so if that pulls not only can you never use the rain fly again, you're left with a hole in your tent. It is very spacious but I wasn't willing to spend the money on something so poorly made.

Mine leaked

My family and two other family friends all bought this tent at the same time. It was on sale and we had planned a group camping trip. We used ours twice the first year we got it with no problems however the weather was nice with the exception of very light rains. One friend did have issues of water coming in around the door of hers. The second season we were camping and a heavy rainfall occurred and we weren't so lucky with it. The water was literally coming through the roof of mine as if there was no roof at all. My friends held up but she did have issues with water coming in the bottom near the door again.. The third friend had no leaks or problems. Apparently if you get a good one this is a great tent but if not you are going to get wet. I literally held a tarp over my sleeping child hoping it would let up but, when it didn't we packed everything up in the middle of the night and went home. I am giving it three stars because it is pretty easy to setup, spacious inside and one of the three purchased has had zero problems during the same trips.

we just got our tent, I was able to set it up myself...and I'm a 5'3" determined woman :)
as long as you follow the directions the setup is easy. Tons of room! We are planning to use this tent this summer up in Yosemite. My 13 year old son was so excited when i set this up in the garage, that he wanted to sleep in it that night!
I will write a review of this product later in July after we have our first real use of it, but I'm excited that this was such a good deal and it seems to be a good tent, with lots of room if you have a family!

So, I am new to camping and I bought this tent for its price and reviews. I was wrong. The first one of these I bought on-line and had shipped to my nearest store. I took it home and put it together. It was fast and easy to do. I treated it with the seam sealer and left it up for a few days.
When I took it down 2-3 days later. One of the fiberglass poles elastic bands on the inside ripped, with me being delicate with it. Simply ripped. I took it back and got another. I figured I got a lemon, right?
I took my second one home, and did the same. This time it did survive the tear down. I took it camping and made it through two nights. On the third night, the winds kicked up and down went my tent. The fibergloss rods that go on top, across the main part of tent both cracked.
I had to put my eazy up on the inside of the tent to keep it propped up for the night. After that it was a very sturdy tent after this modification. :) I will be taking this tent back and asking for a full refund or store credit and not buying a Ozark Trail.
Do your research as I will and look elsewhere for a sturdy tent. My sister bought a JEEP tent and had her tent right next to my Ozark Trail tent and it was sturdy all night long and didnt budge at all to the high winds.
The material is thin, one of the zippers on the window came separated and could not fix and the zipper to the front door kept getting stuck to the water shield in front of it. The only thing I did like about this tent was how fast and easy it was to put it together.
In this case you really are getting what you are paying for. Get something else. Hope this helps and good luck. By the way, despite all of this we had a wonderful time camping and will be back out again soon.

I got this tent for Christmas and I am so excited for our first camping trip this summer. We did have an Ozark Trail 13 X 10 but still needed something bigger but that didn't cost over $150.00, so this was what we were looking for. As for setting up.... I do believe one person could set this tent up, but much easier with two. It took my husband and I about 15 minutes to set up the first time. First impression...it is really big! 3 queen airbeds will easily fit and still have room to spare. There are plenty of windows...two in the front, two in the side, one large in the rear, and of course the door. I purchased the blue tent which is 20 X 10 and unlike the red one the canopy can stay up and still have privacy with a door, as the red one you had to put the canopy down in order to keep people from looking in. Also, the blue has a D style door instead of a T like the red. We had a good breeze going, about 15-20 MPH and had no problem with it collapsing, even with the rainfly (which has the guylines on it) off. I like the fact it has a power port for running an electric cord, we always take a couple fans with us. The small zipper next to the door is an access for putting muddy shoes or whatever else you need quick access to. I like the fact it has 2 divider curtains, but don't expect it to be a wall...your camping after all. I do recommend seal sealer and waterproofing it, as I did. After we let everything dry, we folded it up and it fit back into the bag with no problem.I do plan on buying different stakes, the ones that come with it are already bent, and the ground was soft. I think for the price, if your looking for a big tent on a tight budget, this may be the one for you. Happy camping!

Me and my family are new campers, so I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect tent for us. Like other people who left reviews, I ended up always coming back to this one. Last year we used it for the first time and I absolutely love it. It is very spacious and relatively easy to assemble once you get the hang of it. Not sure how it would hold up in rainy weather. But I am definitely looking forward to using it this year.
I would recommend this tent to a large family or even a couple. My husband and I were able to fit all our camping gear (potty, table, television, coffee pot, DVD) and still have plenty of room to walk around.

We have only used the tent once so far but it held up really well in the high winds. The kids loved having the room dividers & it was great to give the adults some privacy as well. We are a family of 6 & had all 4 daughters on one side, parents on the other, and luggage in the middle with PLENTY of extra room. We shopped around a lot before buying & this is definitely the best deal for the price, no complaints :)

This listing is for 2 different tents. A red/tan tent with French style doors and a blue/tan tent with a single door. The red tent is the one with most of the reviews. It is 20x11. The blue tent is only 20x10. I know this doesn't seem like a big deal but when considering spending your money on a bigger tent, sqft matters. In my case it was the deciding factor in choosing this tent over another tent. We are going to ultimately stick with this tent because it is a ok tent, but just know that if you purchase the blue/tan one you will receive a 20x10 tent.

We bought this tent about three years ago. We go camping about ten times a year. This tent has been great. We have slept in it in all kinds of weather. We have never had any problems with the tent pole's breaking or collapsing in windy weather or in rain. The only thing I don't like about the tent is it sags on the ends. That could be due to the way we put it up I am not sure. But it has never leaked in the tent. If you have a large family I would suggest this tent for the price. It has been a great tent for us.
