My brother suggested I get my hubby a game camera for Christmas and gave me a couple of brand names to research. I ended up getting the Moultrie Game Spy M-100 IR Mini 6.0 Megapixel Digital Game Camera, which was about mid-price range. It was pretty easy for him to figure out. Right now it's mounted in the woods behind our home but he will eventually mount it where he hunts. We've already captured night-time images of a racoon and a small fox, as well as a day-time image of a penguin (see photo below). It's pretty amazing and takes great pics! Hoping the batteries last a long time because it took 8 AAs. The only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is because we've not had it long enough to give it 5 stars. I hope it continues to make the hubby very happy!

sadly after a week in the field with some rain and cold weather, my purchase quit functioning. The few pictures it took were of good quality, but it just did not hold up under damp, cold conditions.

I have three of these cameras that I bought in 2011 for about $175 each, apparently they have gone up! They are good cameras and the plot mode is very useful. In plot mode (taking pictures every minute) they will photograph deer that do not get close enough to the camera to trigger the motion sensor. Taking a lot of pictures in plot mode will require an external battery because internal AA batteries will last only about a week taking one picture every minute during daylight hours. I bought a 12 volt gell cell at Walmart (sporting goods section) for $17 and plugs to fit the Moultrie camera at Radio Shack. This battery will last about 2 months and works very well.
I set the camera on hybrid mode (plot during day and motion sensing at night) and all three cameras I have have worked very well. I like this camera better than the old Moultrie cameras I have as they are smaller and cammo colored.

I bought this camera about one month ago and could not be more pleased. I have bought another one and it is on its way. I have tried cheaper cameras, but the infrared usually does not last. So far this camera has held up perfectly without any problems. I love the fact that with the LCD screen you know exactly what the camera is going to take a picture of.

I have had this camera for two months now and it has taken hundreds of pictures and videos. The instructions it comes with are some what vague but put in the batteries and go through the set up and its pretty much self explanatory, remember the more you have it do the more it uses up the batteries ( common sense ). It does take quality pictures and videos. This trail camera does A LOT almost too much to explain in a short review; also you WILL NOT get it any cheaper then on Wal-Mart. Com I have checked. I printed it off and a major outdoor retailer matched it, it was that or I wasn’t going to buy it….I don’t do many of these so trust me it’s a great trail camera for the money.!!!!!

The viewing screen is nice and the online price was much less than the store price. I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't had a chance to use it in the field yet but I have a moultrie m-80 and I never had any problems with it.

The trail camera is everything I expected, it takes great clear pictures whether it is light or dark, sunset or midday. However, I paid the fee to have Wal-Mart gift wrap it because it was a gift and I am away at school and could not get there in time to do it myself. Well, after I paid the fee and it was delivered it was never gift wrapped and if Wal-Mart doesn't make up for their mistake I will reconsider making major purchases there.

i bought this same camera from gander mountain for $199.99 and it was on sale. i didnt know walmart sold these camera's the ones i seen in sporting goods looked cheap. guess i should have ask. i have had four different kinds of trail cameras. this one is the easiest one to use. the screen lets you know if you have anything on the camera in seconds. great pictures and the video is good but not as clear as the pics. you can put in a 5 dig security code in so if some jurk steals it it's no good. i plan on buying two more and it will be from walmart for sure. the IFR is great never see it unless you know where it is. Great product

This thing has a problem for me. I like video. This camera in video mode first takes a picture, pauses 1-2 seconds, then the video starts. What the?
Why? You can't get all the fast action when it does this as after the snapshot the target has moved out of the field of view before the video starts!
Do manufactures test these things in real life scenerio before they put them up for sale?

This camera is AWESOME!!!!! I have had it a few weeks now and I love it!!!! I have had other cameras in the past but this one is TOP KNOTCH!!!! It takes wide angle pics and takes pics at long range, much further than 60 ft as advertised, that is the reason I have not used the zoom settings on it, really dont need it. If you purchase this game camera, you will not be disapointed!!!!!!!!! I added a photo taken by this camera, and you can see my shooting house all the way in the back of my patch, which is about 250 ft. from camera!!

Walmart is the cheapest price I've found for this version of Game Spy. The M-100 not only has more megapixels than the M-80, but it also let's you view your picts with a 2inch lcd (not that great for viewing but is handy for knowing what your camera is pointing at during setup). While the Plot Stalker mode is nice, it tends to drain your batteries. A small profile makes it easier to haul multiple units in the field.
