Sony Sony ICD-BX112 Digital Flash Voice Recorder
With the Sony ICDBX112 Digital Voice Recorder, recording notes is now a breeze. This flash voice recorder has a Voice Operated Recording feature, which automatically starts and stop recording depending on the sound level. This unique feature saves recording time by not recording periods when there is no or little sound. You can store up to 500 hours of maximum recording time with this 2GB digital voice recorder. Use the A-B repeat feature in this recorder to mark the beginning and ending of a particular passage that you want to listen again and again. Four recording modes allow you to capture voices in different frequencies. You can also set the microphone sensitivity depending on where you are using it. Another interesting feature of this Sony digital voice recorder is the alarm that you can set at a future date for automatic recording. Loaded with so many features, this voice recorder proves very useful while preparing for lectures and conferences.

I love my voice recorder. I have so many things going on in my life that I find it less stressful to be able to give my recorder a message about what I need to do and when. I can set the alarm to remind me at a select time about what I need to do. I am using my recorder for practicing speeches. If I don't have time to record my whole speech, I can go back to the recorder later and add to that speech without deleting what I already have on it. If I find that I want to delete that last sentence, I can. Sometimes I want to go over a specific part of a passage in such a way that I need to listen to it multiple times. I can set the recorder to replay that section over and over until I stop it. I sometimes like for a song to play first before it alerts me to do one of the chores I have asked it to remind me of. I can do this by way of playing music from my computer and have my recorder add the music to a folder. I later go to that folder and add my spoken message at the end of the song.

I'm older with a hearing problem and the volume is very hard to hear even with hearing aids in and volume at highest setting. Also cannot download to my computer where it is easier to transcribe unless buy cable that cost $20 My friend got an Olympus for about the same price and hers had cable attachment included. I can hear it too.

Excellent product-well made and has easy to understand instructions. I like to record the late nite radio show (coast to coast am) and it really does a fine job with fine playback. It has 90 days warranty on labor and 1 year on parts. You can extend the warranty, with WM, for a couple of dollars.

the voice activated option works fantastic. i turned it on, set it up in my home and a day later had a 40 minute recording of my husband talking to his mistress, confirming my suspicions of his affair. obviously this product can be used in many different settings.

I have used this recorder several times since purchase and still don't understand the operation. I even recorded household noises for 24 hours, thinking that I had turned the unit off.
Sony is an excellent name, and for someone who can understand the directions, I'm sure that it would be an excellent purchase. I love the size and convenience of this handheld unit.
I will continue to use it, but would not purchase it again.

I bought this voice recorder to help me with remembering doctor appts and errands. Because the recorder has several folders, I use one only for doctor appts and questions for the physician.
Instructions were clear. The machine is easy to use. I am going into 2 months and still on the
same battery. I use my recorder every day. The recorderings are clear. I've used it in doors and
outdoors. No problems. Very light to carry in my shirt or pants pocket.

Recording audio excellent - but no connectivity

Excellent recording features in a small package. It has mic-in and earphone-out jacks, which is particularly valuable to me as a motovlogger. The only problem I found with this unit is that it has no USB connectivity option so importing an audio file must be done in real-time through the earphone-out. I still find it an excellent recorder and I use it frequently.

So if I want to download the recordings onto my computer what kind of cable do you use? I have no audio or stereo jacks on my computer only USB ports.

I would recommend this recorder for anyone!! No matter what you want recorded, It'll pick it up. I use it for my college anatomy class and its amazing! I hear the teacher as clear as I do in class. As well as Jim Bob asking a question in the back of the class. I love it! It has settings where you can change it from high to low sensitivity, and I love that as well.
