Good basic detector,

There are twelve fields in the underground sprinkler system in my yard, and there was one valve box I had never located because it had been covered over by an accumulation of dirt, leaves, etc. when I bought the house twenty years ago. And, wouldn't you know it? That was the one valve that failed. Sprinkler companies have devices that can find lost valves, but the cost can easily run over $100, so I figured I might be able to do it more cheaply with a metal detector. Even though the metal parts of the valve may be buried as deep as a foot or more below the surface, the box normally encloses just open air-space above the valve, and thus it is easier to detect metal farther below the surface than normal. It took me several hours and some luck, and I found a lot of nails and bottle caps of course, but it worked!! This metal detector did the trick and paid for itself with its first use. It is a very good value for a basic detector. Now I can just have some fun with it.

A VERY GOOD PRODUCT I WAS TAKEN BACK WITH THE ACURACY OF THE UNIT. ITS ABOVE THE QUALITY OF UNITS THAT COST A LOT MORE. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS UNIT TO ANY ONE. VERY HAPPY WITH THE EASE OF USE

My grandson loves it. It gives me a headache, but so far he has found cans and a few pennies. I have gotten alot of weeds dug up. So while not for adults and it does not change pitch. It has kept my 7 year old son and my 11 yeard old grandson very entertained.

This worked great for the first day or two, then it stopped beeping. However, when it was working, it was great for my son. He had asked for it for Christmas. He was disappointed after it quit working after just a couple of days, but the exchange process was very easy when I took this back to the store.

This was a great product 3 weeks before receiving this my husband went hiking and lost his wedding band he looked for hours came home and then bought this online with in less then 1hr under leaves ice and snow he found it. We both give this a great rating it is worth a lot more.

This was a gift for two of my grandson's. They are really thrilled with the performance; and I was relatively happy with the cost of the product. If I were not restricted by fixed income I would buy another one immediately for the 11 year old grandson I am raising at the moment. I do not believe anyone would/will be disappointed if the purchase the metal detector.

I found $5 dollars in quarters in my front yard. I was surprised. It's a little cold now, but will definitely search the entire yard. I went to a few other locations, and found a lot of other stuff. The discriminator takes a little adjusting to. The noises it makes to differentiate between trash, and coins or other metal is a little rusty. But, every time it says there is metal, there is metal. I found pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters so far. I actually worked out too. Took a shovel, and dug for a long time, hours at a time. Some days I only found 6 cents, others a dollar. It's not meant to find treasure, but it's great for a hobby. If someone had said go dig, go workout for 3 hours, I wouldn't do it. If someone said go metal detect with this metal detector, I would... Whoever buys it, have fun. Don't get frustrated if you don't find too much stuff at first. I realized that the earth is really just a lot of dirt... But with a little precious metal in it. Have fun!!

This is a great metal detector for someone who just started "scouting for treasures". I bought it for my 10 year old son. He had a great time hunting for tresures with his friends. It is very light weight & has an adjustable arm. Great for the price. Now, all my friends are interested in obtaining one.

I looked around and found this highly rated metal detector for sale at wal-mart for 50% less than other stores ... I put it together in one minute and started finding stuff in the back yard .. I was pleased ! It actually makes different sounds for different metals like it was supposed to by the ad. I only paid $45 ... I don't see how one that cost $400 would be any better !!!

bought for my kids, they have only used it once so far, it was very easy for them to use. So far they found some loose change. The only problem we have had is I think it might be picking up pipes or something underground, as they dug 8-10 in. holes and fornd nothing, so would reccomend for use where there is no underground pipes ect. Trash eliminater is pretty helpful as well.
