The price is excellent, have looked around and was cheaper here. I just received the product today through parcel service, opened the box and took one of the two dvd's to test, turned on and started playing the DVD, but then noticed it would just be running (hearing the cd spin louder than usual). I tried different DVD's and the same outcome...when I took the DVD out, I heard a loose piece inside the player and then tried the second unit and it worked great. The noise was not there and was a lot quieter when spinning...guess I'm returning the product. I will get the same model, but just hope this time I get both working units! I'm not letting this sway me to getting a different brand and pay more! Great price and brand, just got a defective.

Kids had it out and was using it in the car, one liked it hanging on the pack of the seat as instructed and the other kid tried it on the seat and decided to hold it while viewing, both seems very pleased and excited with the DVD's

I purchased these for my 3 and 6 year old children. The picture is great and the best part it you can bring it inside and watch it anywhere there is a plug nearby. Perfect for us!

I bought these to go in my car for my 4 month old. She hates traveling so I thought this would be a good way to take her mind off of it and it works!! I must say I'm glad I got these. Good video and great sound. I was disappointed to find that they have to stay plugged in due to no internal battery but now I'm ok with that because the car cord is long enough to reach from my dash to the front of the backseat where I have it mounted. Super easy to mount in the car as well!! I would for sure recommend these for anyone thinking of buying.

Brought this for our 2 year old to keep her busy in the car when were traveling. It works great, easy to install in the vehicle. Its also nice to watch movies inside your home. This was the best portable DVD player we ever brought. I did a lot of research for portable DVD players and I'm glad i went with this one.

I am satisfied with my purchase. We try to drive when we vacation and I purchased this for a 15 hr road trip to keep our girls entertained. The picture quality was great and the sound with/without headphones was fine. The straps to connect the screens to the headrest were simple yet effective. The controls to the players were easy for me to access sitting in the front passenger seat.
I like that the play/stop/ff/rev buttons were in the front of the player, though my toddler liked to put her feet on the screen and kept fast forwarding, pausing or stoping the movie.
The only improvement I can think of would be a remote control, but that would not deter me from purchasing it again. We'll see how it holds up for our future travels.

Sometimes it skips a lot.
No battery so needs to be plugged all the time.
I guess it would be better if the ports are face to face in the middle (one on the right end and the other on the left end) rather than both on the (right side) so you can manage the wires/connection better and the person sitting at the middle can easily access the controls.

Bought these for my girls (6, 4 and 2#. I have to say, when they worked, they were great- picture was clear, volume was a little low on some DVDs, but I think it was a disc problem and not the player's fault. However, one of the players in the first set quit working in 3 weeks #black screen#. I called Philips and had a replacement in about 2 1/2 weeks. Not bad, but not exactly speedy when you're trying to keep three girls occupied in the car. These worked for about 5 weeks and again, one of the players had a black screen. I have to insert here that we are not rough on these players. They are attached to the headset in the car and DON'T MOVE! We don't even allow the kids to load/ unload the DVDs. I called Philips again and it took exactly 3 weeks for a replacement. The replacement worked for almost two months #a new record) and now the latches on both doors won't stay closed. Every time we hit a bump, the DVD player opens. I've now been fighting with Philips for 3 months to replace the players- they claim a replacement was ordered but there are "shipping" issues. Like I said, when they worked, we were very happy with them, but we've had non-working players for a longer period of time in the past 6 months than we've had working players. These have cured me of any desire to purchase another Philips product, EVER!

I bought these to replace a 10 inch portable dvd player for my truck. The kids love them! They can watch the same movie or they can each watch a different one at the same time. These are also very portable and they bring the into their room to watch something when they want as well. They just unhook the clasp or even leave it hooked and take them off the seats. They slide over the headrests in my truck and fit snug enough where they do not move around while driving. The picture is very good and the volume is loud enough for them to listen to them without headphones when they watch the same movie and they can still hear it over the trucks motor which is a diesel and gets pretty loud when pulling the camper.
I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive dvd player for the car. They seem great so far and cost less than the portable 10 inch they replaced.

I spent alot of time reviewing dvd's for the car for my granddaughter & this one had good reviews. Unfortunately, this is defective. My GD drives with her mom over 1 hour each way to work & I got her a bunch of DVD's with this to help her pass the time. This kept skipping & then shutting off by itself leaving my d-i-l with a screaming 2 year old on the turnpike. We will be returning this to the store.

I have owned and used these about a month now, but they seem to do the job w/o problems. I love the fact of being able to play a different dvd in each unit or I can connect them and play the same one. I would have gave 5 stars but I did not like the fact of the power on/off switch being located on the right side of both screens, and the hook up to connect them are also. When connecting them to play same movie from one to watch in both wires are everywhere. The wires to connect to lighter port in vehicle seems cheap and wires are thin. They seem easy to break.
I think the cost should be cheaper. I paid around $170 at walmart online.

We ordered these DVD players for a road trip over the Christmas holiday. We were pleased that they arrived just in time and quickly loaded them into the car straight from the box. Having had portable DVD players before, we were happy with the ease one was able to strap them to a headrest and still have easy access to change the DVD! However about 5 minutes into our trip, one of the players froze. We took out the DVD cleaned it but not it wouldn't even recognize it or any other DVD at all. Was very disappointing! I am considering reordering and trying it again as we often travel "back home" and having a dvd player in the car would make all those trips so much more enjoyable! we'll see.

The players are great and it's nice to have two that the kids can watch separate movies on. Really like the bigger screens too. I only wish there was a better way to hook them up to the back of the seats. The system is kind of hokey and could have a much better system in place. I would still recommend them though.

We just got this product for our children for Christmas and so far they have far exceeded our expectations. I cannot be happier with the purchase. The price for these two items is unbelievable. The quality of the players is excellent for a 9" screen and I love that the kids can watch the same movie or each their own. Any parent with multiple children should have these lifesaving devices :) We also bought the leapfrog headphones and the dual player storage bag. Together as a set this is the perfect combination for a happy traveling family.

We just purchased this for a Christmas gift for our son and daughter-in-law's family, so don't have a "longhaul" report to offer. It worked very well with great picture on AC power (cord was included). We read a review prior to purchase stating that the cord that connected the 2 players was pretty short and didn't work very well for the 2 row seating arrangement (e.g. van), but, my son said upon installing it for the kids that the cord was a little longer than he expected. So far, so good. We ourselves have another Phillips dual screen DVD player (not dual DVD players) and it has held up well for us over the past 2 years.

I bought these DVD players for my kids (17 and 2) for Christmas. I love that they can play two different movies because my 17-year-old and my 2-year-old do not always want to watch the same thing. The car adapter cord powers both players and the regular power adapters are two separate cords. That doesn't affect most people, but we have a regular power outlet in our vehicle and I was curious about running both players on the regular power cords. The set up is easy; just run a strap through the player and attach it to the headrest of the front seat. We have not tried the dual DVD function yet, but we have a long trip coming this weekend and we will test it then. I love that I don't have any more screaming car rides with my toddler.
