I received this item and I was excited to finally have a bed after not having one for a year or so. I was unboxing and found that piece G was cracked all the way through. Disheartened I went to assemble what I could but these instructions were very vague. Anyone else have this problem?

Many pieces to assemble, but great directions and labeling. The quality is cheap, but expected at the low price. I added brackets to the inside corners and used thin plywood for the drawer bottoms as theirs were cheap cardboard. Looks good when done.

I bought two beds as our grandson's were moving here and we needed beds for them. The beds seem sturdy, look great, but not easy to put together. It took SIL from about 5pm to 1am to put both beds together. Oh, you can use XL twin mattress with no problems.

Can't beat it for the price. Looks great! Took me about 2 hours to put it together, but definitely worth it. We're very happy with this bed and highly recommend it.

This bed is sturdy, and it looks nice, the drawers is the only thing that seems a bit frail. Overall its a great price for a bed with bookshelves and drawers. It can be assembled either way if you want the drawers on the right or left side of the bed. The shipping took almost 3 weeks and the assembly took about 5 hours because there are many pieces to it to make it sturdy. Some pieces already come labeled but many do not, I recommend first labeling every piece before building it to make it easier and faster.

My husband and I bought this bed for our 5 year old daughter. We searched and searched for a good quality bed. I found a few that I liked but they were overly expensive for a twin bed. I really wanted a shelf headboard because my daughter likes her games & her nightlight... and those beds seemed even more expensive. We saw this one in our local store and I was hesitant. Then we saw the reviews and they said how well this bed worked, so we gave it a whirl. We LOVE this bed!
There are a lot of parts and it does take time to put together, but the instructions are very clear and put together very well. Everything is labeled... even the screws are packaged and labeled accordingly! It was smooth sailing putting it together. My advice... 2 people and lay out each step as pictured and you'll have no problems!
My daughter LOVES this bed. She couldn't wait to get in it and start putting stuff in the shelves! She puts her DSi in there, a couple of favorite books, some little dolls... it's great! The quality is really good; it's really sturdy. My husband lays down w/ her and they read books... there are NO FEARS about this bed falling apart!

I can not recommend this product to anyone. I had ordered it with the intent to get something that looked nice and also provided additional storage. The bed didn't even stay together for a couple days. The bed was very unstable because the fasteners they included to hold the bed together either would not stay tightened and the few that did stay tightened ended up wearing away the wood they were fastened into making it next to impossible to fix. I am really not liking these new fasteners (I can't even remember what they're called) and its making me really hesitant to buy anything that uses them. I would have vastly preffered old fashioned nails and screws to hold it together. Nails and screws I know work.

I purchased this bed for my 5 y/o .. It does take some time to put together but the finished product is well worth it. I like how sturdy it is. Also the drawers on the bottom slide out very smooth. It does not mention this in the discrib but the headboard selves have cut out holes(3) for little lamp, iPod chargers ect which is a nice feature.The only downside was the amount of time it took to put this bed together kind of gets overwhelming..you just have to take your time and really focus.

I am very happy with this purchase for my 2 1/2 year old son. The bed is very sturdy and looks nice with his other dark cherry furniture. I was a rather long process to get the bed put together, but we had no problem with missing pieces or damaged parts. I think this bed will suit my son for many years.

We were a little worried that this bed would be cheap and not hold up very well because of the price being less than other beds. But once we started putting it together my husband was the first to say that it was a well made bed and had been well thought out. There are extra support bars in the drawers and little things here and there that made the bed sturdier. We were very pleased.

This bed for this price was just perfect. My son got to pick which he wanted and he just loves that it has a bookcase headboard. We have a box spring with a mattress on it which makes it very high but for now he really likes it like that. This bed was heavy in the box I opened it and took the pieces up the stairs and then set out to put my puzzle together. It took about three hours with the storage frame for underneath but once it was together it looked really nice in his room. I am definitely considering buying another one for my other child when it comes time. This bed is great and can hold a full grown adult no problem.

This is the bottom part of the bed that has two drawers.
All in all this bed including the bottom was heavy so I had to carry it up stairs in pieces and then spread everything out then start putting it together. It was kind of like a huge puzzle but if you follow the directions it comes together very nicely. I had no problems getting it together. The drawers are huge and this bed was perfect for my son.

We received the bed in the mail yesterday. I must say, it's fascinating the things that can come through the mail these days! I ordered it for my 16 year old son. At first I was worried that it would be too small, however to my surprise, his twin mattress fit perfectly in the frame! The best part was that he put the bed together himself, no help from anyone.
This was a great find and would recommend this purchase to a friend as well. Walmart wins with Mainstays Twin Storage Bed!!
