It took my husband awhile to put together.
Other than that it was bigger and sturdier than I expectedfor the price. It is a nice little bureau. We are using it for our infant and it is perfect for him.

The material is so brittle that when assembling the wood splits. The dowels are not a tight fit so the dresser is not solid, and worst of all after the three hours that it took to assemble it, one of the holes for the cam lock was drilled in the wrong spot (piece G) so I had to drill another hole in order for it to fit together properly.

I originally bought this dresser for my older sons. After putting it together I realized that it was not as stable as the previous dresser the boys had. So...I left the original dresser in their room and will stain it...and placed this dresser in the babies room since they will not destroy it yet :) Good dresser for the money...but not very sturdy or stable for 10-13 yr old boys

Great dresser for the money, difficult to assemble

I bought this dresser for my infant son to use as he grows. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on furniture seeing as how he will probably damage it as he ages. This dresser is perfect for the money and seems to be quite sturdy. The drawers are a little tight to pull out and push in but it could just be that way because it's new. The color perfectly matches with other chocolate/dark brown furniture in his room. It is rather difficult to put together as it comes in pieces. You have to assemble everything from the brackets to the drawers to the sides and top. It's literally slats of wood and your hardware. I'd plan on 2-3 hours of work (at least, that's how long it took my husband). The wood splinters easily. Two out of our three drawers are splintered in the back. It's not a deal-breaker though. It isn't in plain view and doesn't affect the use of the drawers. Overall this is a great deal.

I did not even open the box after I picked this item up from the store. I purchaced another item from the same company and it fell apart as we were putting it together. Needless to say I returned both products.

I don't buy things on line and I decided to try it out. I brought this dresser and they had parts missing to assemble it, the instructions and are not easy to read. And when I called the company, southshore, to have them send me the missing parts southshore said they woud send my the parts in about a week, I finally got a manager to approval to next day them to me. And I still got the parts a week later. Horrible costumer service and worst company to deal with.

The drawer chest has cheap plastic rails for the drawers. The whole were drilled on the wrong sides, so the inside drawer pieces had to be put together upside down. Also, the top drawer piece was damaged on the outside. Do not get this product.

This is a great dresser for the price! It looks great and the drawers pull out smoothly. The dresser is darker in person than it looks online. It is more of an espresso color than chocolate. The handles aren't the best looking, but they are ok. The instructions were simple and to the point, it took my husband and his friend about an hour to put it together. Althogether I definately think this is a great dresser and I would definately buy one again!

We bought this for our 2 year olds room. Looks very nice. Drawers are a little tough to pull out and push in at first, but after some use they start to get broke in a little bit. Directions were a little confusing at first. they one you to start putting the dresser together a little bit and then do the drawers and then go back to the dresser. We ended up putting the dresser together first and then went back and put all the drawers together. Did take a couple hours to put together. Overall very satisfied with it.

My wife and i purchased this item for our new twin boys room, we were a little hesitant with purchasing at first due too the price and fake wood... We got it home, assembled and filled it up. Works great for the boys room! Holds alot of clothes, as long as you dont over pack the drawers! I would reccomend too friends and family. We wanted something, affordable, nice looking and sturdy. We love this piece, looks so nice and expensive in the right room. The assembly was a bit tricky, but once you got it together, it's lovely. Very happy with this purchase!

Good purchase but hard to assemble

This dresser looks nice once it's put together. The color was not what I expected, the chocolate actually looks almost black. The instructions were difficult as they are based mostly on (rather pooor) pictures and not words and mine were stapled together incorrectly. This comes in about 35 pieces with 5 bags of hardware. Easier to do with someone I'm sure, but I was on my own and it took me a couple of hours and a couple of glasses of wine.

Not as firm as I expected and the scroll of the drawer is not so smooth. The most terrible thing is the strong smell. I opened it in the balcony for two days and it still smells.

It is easy to assemble but takes time since you have to assemble each drawer. Very good slide mechanism. It is plastic but very smooth. Excellent deal for the price paid. Excellent choice to college students. Sturdy.
