I bought a Xoom for Xmas and so far I have not had any problems with it. As soon as I connected to wifi it updated to Jellybean and it has been running very smoothly. What I like about this tablet is the screen it has! It has gorilla glass which is super resistant to scratches so I do not have to worry about getting one of those annoying screen protectors on it. It has lots of memory and a slot for a memory card if you choose to add it. I have not had problems with the charger as I am very careful with it. However, the pin on the charger is insanely thin and small. Put it on a flat surface when charging and you should not have any problems. I can access Google Play and get apps easily. I like to watch movies on Netflix and Youtube and both apps work great and the picture quality is very clear. I am really enjoying the Xoom. It really is worth the money that I paid for it and I do recommend it.

out of the box and charged up..back into the box and wraped as a gift. My wife opened it up and was off and running in about 10 mins. Her comment was, "this works just like my smart phone". Music to my ears. Motorola does it again. Plus it was a great price. All software updated on its on.

Just purchased the Motorola Xoom and I'm extremely happy with it.---you just can't put it down....it has everything, from a very fast os---jellybean to great apps and great battery life. This tablet got the iPad beat for sure. The updates are fast and the sleek look and feel is awesome. This is the must have tablet of the year!

First, always check Motorola's website to see if you can upgrade to a newer version of the Android Operating System. The product is listed as Honeycomb (3.0# of Android but if you check Motorola's site you can upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich #ICS) version 4. It took less than an hour and now the Xoom has a current version of the operating system. The Motorola website is well organized and documents well written - you do need to pay attention to things in the tablet and smart phone market - things change weekly!
The tablet is solid. The screen is made of Gorilla Glass so I've never put a screen protector on it. Some say it feels heavy; this is not a cheap knock-off tablet - it's pure quality. Battery life is good for 10+ hours and will depend on whether you're visiting a lot of graphical websites with lots of pictures or whether you're using the device as an e-reader.
The app's not pre-installed come from Google Play and they are always having sales on app's, books, magazines, and music. You're not just buying a tablet, you're buying into the marketplace provides you with app's and related. Google's is top notch.
I bought this device to see how I could integrate a tablet into my work in the office and whether I'd be able to replace a laptop with it. So far I'd say it won't replace my laptop because I'm a heavy spreadheet user but it could replace the laptop for giving web presentations over WebEx or comparable tool. It will take some time for me to figure out the correct balance in the office and I'd say that's true for probably everyone.
I have downloaded app's for the Barnes & Noble Nook, Amazon Kindle, and Sony eReader. I also purchase books and magazine subscriptions from Google Play's store. When you think about it, it is possible to view this as having 4 e-readers on one device. You can see the quality graphics this tablet has when watching movies on Netflix - beautiful.
I would definitely purchase again; recommend to a friend; and purchase as a gift for my family. I've always been a fan of Motorola products - they're built solid and last a long time, in my opinion.

I really did a lot of research before purchasing this model. My mother has an iPad 2 and I spent a good week running it through the paces. It is a nice product and she loves it. The price point was the only thing that really bothered me, my Mom paid $900.00 to get the biggest version with 3G through Verizon. I have a smartphone that I can use as a hotspot so that was something I didn't need. I then tried a few cheaper tablets only to be put off by their bad or buggy software or the screen was resistive which takes a strong finger or stylus push down to click on things. I was looking on Craigslist one day and saw a Xoom for $175.00 and I jumped. It was almost like new, the person had paid nearly $550.00 for it at a local big box store and just said she didn't utilize it as much as she thought she would. It fully updated to ICS and my family and I use this thing constantly. My son loves the awesome games with exceptional graphics. My daughter loves using it for YouTube and the wife is alway shopping on it. :) It is a bit heavy, but no one in my family seems to mind. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a strong machine that can do anything the iPad can do and much more. Hope this has helped.

I did not know that I got the Singapore version, but I knew it was the one since the charger was an international charger. I was disappointed at first, but it pretty much is the same thing. I have had this since April and it is still working. The only thing is that the charger is very sensitive and can easily break. I had to order a charger because mine broke last week. I prefer this than an Ipad and there are a lot of apps that are mostly free and I just love my Xoom! I would definitely purchase another one for my husband.

4th tablet I've tried. Disappointed. This tablet literally made my wrists hurt! It was so heavy, compared to others. I need a tablet for: reading email, shopping, and banking, and Skype. I am not a high maintence user. I even want to print the occational coupon. This tablet hung itsself on some sites, was very difficult to print from via wireless. Fields for typing have glitches, couldn't access Comcasts site to fix my account. I was told my picture not as clear by my friends on skype and had hard time keeping connection. Tried 5 different browsers. I bought this instead of an ipad2 (costs the same) because i really want Flash player! A lot of disney sites i use for my kids use this and, well i am now typing this review on an Ipad2. I guess no tablet is perfect...

I liked it. I tried to use everything to give it a test. Everything worked pretty good. Typical Android; some apps liked to force close, but I can't blame Android or Google for poorly written apps. The sound was good for a tablet as was the camera. I sold it to my brother because I am ready for a Windows Tablet!

A year later, nothing that beats it all around

I bought the wifi xoom when it first came out. Liked the ipad but doesn't meet my needs with video and flash. Compared the xoom and others and took the plunge. After a year and going strong someone broke into my car and stole mine. I read reviews, compared specs. I expected something new out there to beat the xoom hands down. I expected with all the android tablets, someone would have super faster processors, double or tripple the ram, more internal storage with expandable sd storage.
There are others that are smaller. I like the 10" screen. Hence why I wanted the tablet. If I wanted smaller I have a cellphone. Lighter. Yes the xoom is a bit of a tank. It is. Especially with an otterbox case to protect it. But the lighter models come with a cost of less internal storage, processing speed, size and ram. Not a trade off worth it to me.
New tablets coming out in July '12 should start creeping into the areas I expected competitors to beat the xoom with but haven't yet.
Since the release, a lot of bugs have been worked and out and it upgrades to the ICS OS. Runs great and plenty of apps for work and play along with netfilx, skype, tango, flixster and mobile office apps. It's wifi only but if you're not in an area with wifi, turn your phone into a wifi hotspot and you're up and running.
The wifi works great, battery lasts 10 hours on average with heavy usage. On standby and light usage I can get 3-4 days out of it off one charge.

I must say very disappointed in Walmart sending the Singapore version...I just returned it with a full refund with no problems but, still dont have the Motorola Xoom I wanted and thought I was getting. It should be marked clearly on box. It will not update to the latest software. I spent 30 mins on chat with a Motorola rep and she said "it is almost the same as the USA version" I dont want an almost for over $400 ...I want the real thing....I hope this helps someone that is looking to buy a Xoom on the Walmart website

Not a US product upon opening the carton. Had Singapore based operating software rather than US based. The power supply had a US adapter for the plug end to be able to plug in. Looked like it belonged in UK or Europe. Returned it for a refund.

I ordered this product in mid-April. When it arrived by mail I immediately noticed that it was packaged with international power adapters and a different power cord than the US model. On the back it said it was manufactured for the Singapore market. Very quickly I booted up and was able to confirm this was not the US version of the product.
This is VERY important if you want to get the latest software updates. Whereas the US version of the Xoom is already running Android's latest operating system, Ice Cream Sandwhich, the international versions of the Xoom have not yet been pushed this update and are using the old operating system, Honeycomb.
If you are purchasing this hardware because you want to run the latest and greatest software from Google (as the Xoom is the first/only tablet to get update directly from Google for now) then I would suggest purchasing elsewhere.
That being said, Walmart.com customer service and processing of the return and refund was handled very professionally with great/friendly customer service.!
And if you get a US version of the Xoom, it is a great tablet!

This is the second Motorola xoom I have owned and is an amazing tablet for the money. It has twice the memory of almost all the tablets like it for around 100.00 less.it's speakers are in a class of their own and the ability to install up to a 32 gig micro sd card gives you a 64 gig tablet for very little money. The cameras are outstanding as well with both front and rear facing cameras. only negative about the unit is the seam on the back which seems to not stay tight on the Xoom. Overall an awesome tablet and a great deal.

I bought this motorola xoom recently, for about morethan a month now and i have no regrets. It was now upgraded fom honeycomb 3.0 to 3.2 and i will say that it made me happier. More apps to choose from at the android market. My only bad comment is there is no video call for yahoo. I hope this gets fix because that is how i communicate with my family in the Philippines, although we have a PC in the office but because i have an 8 month old baby I can't stay in the office to chat in the Philippines, so it would be nice if this tablet have video call for yahoo and the second one is this is not compatible with VIBER APP too but other than these, this works perfectly. It is really a computer tablet. I recommend this one..
