I am an amateur photographer and own another Canon camera which I love. This was to be an upgrade to more mp's and hd camera. I have not been able to get a good focused shot and have tried for a few days. I am going to keep trying but my other camera which is about five years old is much easier to use.

I needed a new camera because I couldn't get a shot of my 2 1/2 year old without his eyes being closed! I would take 50 shots, and maybe 2 would have him with his eyes open. When I got this camera, I was 10 for 10 with open eyes within the first five minutes. And all of this is with the automatic settings!! And my little guy doesn't really like to sit still for very long, and this camera takes good action shots too. This is my first DSLR, so I'm a novice and I have TONS to learn, but so far I couldn't be happier with this camera! The pictures are incredibly sharp, and the shutter speed is fast! Highly recommended!!

I could not believe the quality of photos even shooting in manual. It was way beyond what I expected. Shoots amazing even in lower lighting. I just wish it came with more the one lens. The one is fine if you aren't wanting a zoom or up close macro. All in all you can't go wrong with this.

this camera has all the features one would expect from Canon. Uses all the accessories and lenses from my older Canon Rebel DSLR and with a dvd bought elsewhere fairly easy to learn how to use. Not for a novice, but fine for a more experienced photo enthusiast. the 12.2 megapixels ate enough to enlarge to a poster size with no loss of quality.

simple enough after reading instructions. takes nice photos. we're amateur, but it's interesting to use some of the features. can't zoom in too much, can zoom out more, unlike our old point and click. takes excellent hd movies. don't need a camcorder with this! bought the 16 gb memory, like someone suggested since we use the movie feature some.

I bought this camera for family photos as well as a couple of conceptual projects I want to work on. The camera is terrificin both its performance and its ease of use. The manual and discs that come with the camera are helpful, but if you are a beginner, I would highly reccomend the Digital SLR Photography for Dummies book to really help you get the most out of the camera.
There are a lot of higher priced cameras on the market, but this one is terrific. To sum it up in a single word-Wow!. Definitely worth every penny paid for it!

I got tired of the point and shoot cameras that delayed between shots. I have two small grandson and all I got was photo's of the back of their heads. With this camera I can continiously shoot and I get some good shots. Then I started taking photo's of family members for different reasons and they look like a professional done them, so yeah we LOVE this camera ! I got NO complaints !

Pros: This camera has all of the features I was looking for; comfortable grip; manual mode so that I could practice with the shutter speed, etc.; and the battery life is phenomenal!
Cons: So far I haven't figured out to take pictures in sepia; on a few occasions, the camera would only take a ten second video ( but I will refer to the manual to try and figure out these two problems).

I can snap 10 pictures in teh time it took to take on with my old digital. Focuses with a twist of the wrist so it doesn't run down the battery. I was going to get an extra bettery but I have only charged it once and it just keeps going! I love it.
