Explore new places with great ease using the Garmin dezl 560LMT 5.0 GPS Navigator - the advanced navigation system model for the trucking industry. Designed with truckers in mind, the Touch screen GPS Navigator has a large 5" display, an extra-loud speaker, and external video input for backup cameras. The GPS with traffic updates also includes trucking speed limits, truck-specific route highlighting, and trucking points of interest (POIs). Truck drivers aren't the only type of drivers that will like this Bluetooth GPS navigation system - RV drivers will appreciate the ability to set up an RV profile and calculate routes based on height, weight and length restrictions. With four hours of battery life, the 3D map view GPS is made for life over the road. With auto reroute, it automatically suggests an alternate route in case of road detour.
Garmin did not notify me of the east bound scales on the west side off Mississippi coming out of Lousiana. They have been open for three years. Luckily I knew about them. I just recently updated my Garmin. Other than this so far I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Review 2 for Garmin dezl 560LMT 5.0" GPS Navigator
If you are a trucker this is the one! Whats nice about the garmin dezl is it picks alternate routes with less traffic if you like. It also has a nice touch screen with loud volumn if you like. One other thing that the garmin dezl does is it keeps a log book for you while your driving making it eaiser to stay ahead of the D.O.T. and FMCSA causing you to be more productive.

I use my Garmin everyday. It works great. Takes me right to the front door. I like the 5"screen and blue tooth capable. Now I can use my phone hands free and not buy a head set. Works great.

Inacurate Directions

I bought this because it has an RV profile option. I thought it would be useful for low bridges and vehicle weight limit on bridges. It does work well for this but has taken me way out the way trying to get me to my destination. It does work well for lane changes and exits on interstates. I did find myself stopping multiple times to check Google maps and readjusting my route to shorten distances. I now draw out the route on paper with road names and/or route numbers as I used to and just use the Garmin as a guide. Very disappointed with the route accuracy of this device. This is the first GPS I have ever used so have nothing to compare to.

Huge Dissapointment

This unit is rediculously slow to calculate. Yesterday, it took 107 miles of driving before it FINALLY calculated the route. On the way home from our destination, it locked up when it was at 91% completed with calculating, we had to turn the unit off then back on to get it to calculate the route. On the upside, the reports that you can print out are nice. You can print out miles traveled in each state, time stopped, where you were stopped, etc. It was really handy to turn into the company. It is plenty loud enough even with the 18 wheeler running. We did hit an overpass even though it should have routed us around it. But, that could have been due to the road being resurfaced, and therefore the road was higher than it was. I can give it the benefit of the doubt in that circumstance. We are sending this unit back, and getting a different unit, that will hopefully work better. Until that happens, we are going to rely on the old GPS.

If you turn off the myTrends and trafficTrends it will speed up the route calculation.

The Good and Bad of the Garmin dezl 560LMT 5.0" GP

The Good: 1 Screen size, colors, view, and volume which is very loud, I can finally hear a GPS Navigation unit over the sound of my tractor trailer on the Highway with having the windows rolled down. 2 Warning prompts work well in truck settings, MPH, Curve, Low over pass, weight limit roads, detour, etc. 3 Very large key touch screen key board for typing in your destination. 4 Very quick navigation, and reroute time.
The Bad: 1 Bluetooth sound is terrible, being a distorted sound. 2 Navigation on Truck settings could be better, their are easier more direct routes when using for street navigation then what is computed. But it will get you their, just a different route. 3 Price is kind of steep for this unit $440.00 plus tax, $300 is about what I think its worth. 4 Should include a screen cover bag for the price, and a window suction cup mount, which I had to buy both separate from a different seller, Wall-mart did not carry these accessories.
I ordered this product online from Walmart, lowest price I found. Excellent online notification, and on time delivery to the store where I picked it up from, But........... Terrible Store Pick Up time, waited a 1 hour with no one else on line at the pick up desk because they did not know where it was located in their store, mind you it only came off the truck 2 hours before I picked it up. This is a Individual store issue of being unorganized at the Freehold NJ store location.
Bottom line: Over all I am somewhat happy with this unit, because it does keep me off routes I do not belong on with a Tractor Trailer.

I pull a 24 foot enclosed car hauler and wanted a trucker GPS to keep from being sent down neighborhood streets. I have only used it once and the only problem was it tried to send me the wrong way on a one way street. I will use it for a longer trip to Reno, NV shortly and hope it does better. The reviews for this GPS were good and although not an inexpensive unit I hope it will satisfy my needs for many years. Wish it would have come with a windshield mount and not just a dash board pad. I also haven't figured out how to hook up a back-up camera to the device. Instructions are very skimpy and I can find no source for more complete instructions.

I'm really disappointed with this unit. The graphics are not good, but this is minor. The unit is crazy slow to calculate. It takes wild courses that are way out of route. The times presented are not realistic.

Worth the extra money if you have RV or Truck

I own an RV and had a Nuvi before. It was hard to hear voice directions, screen was a bit small, worst of all it thought I was in a car. This dezl 560MLT routes you according to vehicle even considering multiple trailers. Many choices to customize including entering height, width, & weight. I have not been caught in a tight place yet the Nuvi put me in several. The bigger screeen is great and the voice volumn is at least twice as loud as the standard car models I have had. Well worth the higher price. Wal-Mart had the best price. They even beat the Garmin outlet store price for reworked units.

Most reviews and product summaries don't mention the low-pass feature. It's my number one fear for truckers and those around them. Thanks for the information.

I just ordered this one after looking at all the other truck GPS reviews, and features on the market. It will be mostly used in one state for getting around with my 13'6 high, 48' trailer. Will post my review after using it for about a week, should arrive they say around July 20.
Keep On Trucking, Smokie
