Warning, Has Light Leakage. Don't buy.

I just bought this TV based on the reviews and brought it home and was impressed with the TV and its features. I set it up, and set up the picture wizard and channel finder and everything was great. Then I noticed during movies with black letterbox that the black part had a distinguishable light spot on the corner. I tried to get past it, and during fullscreen TV watching, I didn't notice it much. But the light leakage really started to bother me. I took it back and thought it was just that TV so purchased the same model again. This time it had an even larger light spot in the corner and during movies it is really hard to get past it. Short story, I purchased two of these TVs, both had Light Leakage during dark portions of movies and on letterbox. I am taking the second one back and will not be buying another one. Buyer Beware. If you don't know what light leakage is, google it. It is very common with LED Flatpanel TVs and I wont be buying another LED TV until the technology is fixed. It is really annoying during movies that have dark scenes, the screen has white spots that are hard to get past.

Puchased a month ago. Great picture. Easy to connect. Love the input options. Has different screen and sound options for gaming, cinema and sports with just a push of a button. Good sound quality except on certain channels, but this is because of the signal source and not the tv. I know because it happens on all three of my tvs and they're all different make and models. LG is one of my favorites. Always high quality, in my opinion...

The best TV for the bedroom at this price

I bought an LG 42" TV for our living room about 20 months ago and have had no complaints about it. In fact all I can do is rave about it. It has the best picture of any TV I've ever had and is just as good if not better than my father-in-law's Sony that he paid almost twice as much for. Every once in a while I still marvel at how crisp the picture is. When we have company over to our house, someone always mentions what a great picture the TV has. So when it came time to upgrade the TV in our bedroom I just had to get another LG. I couldn't decide on whether to get a 32" or 26". We didn't want to spend alot but I was leaning toward the 32" (bigger is better, right?) but with the Walmart deal it was almost 100 dollars cheaper for the 26", and my wife always thinks cheaper is better. I don't know if the 26" has a better picture than the 32", but the 26" picture is almost as good as my 42". I know some people complain about the sound but "come on !!!" If you're hung up on too much treble and not enough bass coming from the speakers then get yourself a sound system to hook it up to. Thanks, Walmart, for a great deal on a great TV !!!

My first lcd tv, and I am quite satisfied. The stand was easy to assemble, the directions for setup were easy to follow, and it has been working perfectly. The 26" size is adequate for me in a 13x15 room (I was watching a 19" TV previously); large enough without dominating the space. I look forward to hooking it up to my computer in order to watch livestreams on the TV.

Good TV that I also use as a monitor. It has a slight buzzing noise while powered on (only audible from 3ft or closer), but that's not a big issue. I only gave it a 4 for picture quality due to the fact that it is only 720p, but it is still exceptional.

The picture quality is good, but i don't beleive it is "3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio" as it is advertised. I have other TV's with lower contrast ratios that have a much crisper image. this unit is still a ultra slim TV at a good price.

Incredibly thin, nice picture. Nice programming features. Sound is awful as are most of these skinny TVs, I think they are designed to be used in conjunction with external sound systems. You can't get very big speakers in such a small for factor. Walmart's price, service is great!!!

This is a great tv, very thin. The power has a brick like a laptop or xbox 360 but not a big deal. Sound blew me away don't know why others said it was just ok. Picture quality is excellent, well worth the extra $50 over the LCD just for power consumption alone, it will pay for itself in 2 years. I would recommend this to anyone who is on the fence debating LED all the way. One of the best tv's I own right up there with S*msung.

This TV has all of the features that I was looking for. It is a BACKLIT LED LCD. The picture is Great. I have found through research and experience that the smaller TVs have pretty bad sound. This TV is one of the few that have an earphone jack. It allows the use of fairly cheap external speakers. However the ones on this TV are tolerable. Finally the physical size is just small enough so that it will fit under the kitchen cabinets. The one negative is that the set would not stay turned off. Had to un-plug it when not in use. This TV is so good that I was willing to put up with this problem if need be. In the end I was able to get a replacement. This is the kitchen TV. We watch local HD on over the air channels using an antenna and also watch the Dish TV on analog chan 60. Even the analog picture is great. I gave it a 5 star rating despite the problems because of the magnificent picture and external speaker capability.

Great deal on this LED TV and works great for our hobby room. Others complained about sound and even though it is not great, I've had no issues getting it loud enough to hear. One oddity is that if you use a swing out wall mount that has a plate to mount on the back of the TV, the 200mm x 200mm size holes actually cover the power cord and some of the HDMI inputs. I had to hacksaw off a 2inx2in corner to get it to work. Make sure the swing out mounts only have 100mmx100mm (VESA 100) size TVs or smaller. Also, the TV has "inserts" to put in the mounting holes that work fine if the TV mount is installed with the TV face down. Unfortunately, these round and smooth pieces make swing out mounts, which are typically mounted with the TV in an upright position, a two person and frustrating exercise. We eventually scotch tapped them all down. Once we got it mounted, we have enjoyed it since.

Pro: Outstanding contrast (3mil:1), easy to set up, ultra-fast pixcle response time, completely customizable video and audio options, attractive menus, great gaming tv, flush tv buttons
Con: The power supply is like that of a laptop (ie external), tv buttons are not back lit and hard to see in dark, speakers are not high quality but i mean come on, it's 1.4" deep but they are almost as good as many computer speakers, limited RGB input resolutions (isn't really a problem because the auto adjust fits it to screen perfectly)
Overall this was well worth the $279 i payed for it, it kills my buddy's 46" LG plasma when it comes to how crisp gaming is, there is ZERO motion blur even in the most strenuous situations. As a multi-purpose monitor/gaming tv the LG 26LE5300 not only holds it own but leads the way in many aspects for this price bracket. I highly recommend it, all my friends are asking where i got it and are planning on getting one themselves. I am now a loyal LG customer.

While this set has a few minor issues.. I think for the price (paid $279), it works just fine. I wish it had a little better sound. Luckily the room I have it in (bedroom) isnt very large, otherwise, could be a bigger issue. One other item I noticed, is that if the room is bright (sunshine day, window blinds open) it can be hard to see the screen. WHile that is true of most TVs, this one is almost IMPOSSIBLE to see.. versus just annoying. The HD shows are awesome. It scanned all my digital chanels, including over the air, without issue. The remote is someone sensitive, in that if you dont point it right at the right spot, it doesnt always react very quickly. All in all.. fine TV for the price.. and about $100 less than a few others I looked at with similar features. I have only had this set for about 2 months.. so should issues arise later on, I will try to remember to post updates.

Excellent picture and sensitivity for an antenna connection. Very good sound quality for a thin flat screen. But mine didn't come with the correct screws for installing the base mount, a none issue since I was wall mounting but could be a problem for others. Plus this is a discontinued model, thus the '3' rating on value.
