It runs very slowly, and pedal laboriously. I want to change another 26' bike. I feel disappointed and regret to purchase this bike.

Walmart did a good job assembling the bike, and the bike has worked hassle free from the start. A great value for the price, and a good bike as your child grows, to introduce him/her to biking and to see if s/he likes doing it regularly before plunking down bigger bucks for a more sophisticated bike.

decent bike but had difficulty calibrating brakes

You will get what you pay for.
You have to be lucky to get the right piece. Rear tyre rim had bent little and was touching brake pads while riding.. Tried calibrating the brakes but it is not an easy task.
The rear type was not symmetric to the frame bars next to the tire.
Returning it for different one.

Purchased this bike today for my daughter's birthday. Waited a week for it to come in. It came out of the box a little scratched up. The welding is sloppy and the metal is poor quality. The powder coating is drippy in some spots. The seat is really harsh on the pelvic area, to say the least. The break assemblies are prebuilt, so that's a plus, but at the factory the workers stripped all the screws, so the brakes cannot be adjusted. No birthday present for my daughter today.

me and my boyfriend bought this bike (different color though) and i think for the price we gotit, its pretty good. i read some of the reviews and they were right, well i am the first timer for riding a bike for some reason not riding a bike for woooo more than 10 years, the seat is not that comfortable as it looks. but i search for same problem i have and they said that its only for the beginning which is also right, i had this bike now for 2 weeks and yes it still hurt my butt hahaha. and im thinking to buy a cover gel seat to minimize the pain. but over all, its GOOD <3
for my age 24 and yes i am petite so 24" is just what i need XD

Best Bike ever!

I decided to start biking again after many years (I am 67 and haven't biked for at least 30 years...). I wanted a "cheap" good bike --- based on the reviews for this bike, I ordered the 24" Roadmaster Granite Peak so that my feet could reach the ground for extra security!! I'm 5'3". My confidence quickly soared and after one day on the 24" I exchanged it for a 26" Roadmaster Granite Peak! This is absolutely the best bike ever!!! (I did buy a different seat - "memory foam" - a necessity!). Due to extremely hot/humid weather these last few weeks, I also bought a "bike trainer" stand for the rear tire so that I could use my bike indoors - another great idea. I can't say enough good things about this bike - my hubby has a bike worth many more $$$ and he's envious of mine! If anyone tries to take my bike away I guarantee you I will chase them down to get my bike back!!

Nice bike for the money

Bought this bike for my wife. I spent several hours adjusting it so the brakes work and the gears change properly. No matter if the store puts it together or you do, ADJUST the bike per the instructions BEFORE you start riding. If not the chain slips off, the gears are noisy, and the brakes scrub. She likes the bike and it feels better put together than my 26" mens bike by the same manufacturer.

My daughter is twelve years old and 5'7" so she still has a way to grow. This was an excellent bike to get her before moving up to a long term road bike. She loves the color and it fit perfectly. Her only complaint has been the seat, so looking for more comfortable one. The bike arrived sooner than expected and was packed securely. All the parts were included and it took less than 20 minutes to assemble the bike. Other than seat adjustments ( & replacement seat) no other work or "fixing" needed post assembly.

Cheapest Decent Bike You Will Find

I'm 33, and my 26" mountain bike was stolen. I needed another bike that was cheap and needed it ASAP since its my main method of transportation. I went to Walmart and they had zero selection. No 26" bikes and only two 24" bikes. This is listed as a girl's bike not a woman's bike but I feel it will suit a female who is about age 10-18 OR a woman who is about 5'4" tall or shorter. I am 5'6" tall so its a tiny bit too small for me but it will do. I'm about 80% as comfortable as I was on my 26" bike. I needed a cheap bike and fast, didn't feel like messing around w other stores. Had a guy at the store in the sporting goods department put air in the flat tires so I could test it out in the store, it felt fine and I bought it. It makes a little bit of a clickity noise in the back pedals especially in 3rd gear. I took it to a bike shop and they said nothing was wrong with it and the noise is just because it is a cheap bike. The bike shop guy said i will prob start having problems after a few months since its so cheap and if this happens ill just call the number on the bike, get a warranty part and replace it myself or have the bike shop replace it. I truly believe this is the cheapest, decent bike you will find and after having my bike stolen I will never pay a lot for a bike again. ( I live in an area where bikes are often stolen) I invested in a U lock to go with my cable lock. Now the one thing about this bike that is bad is the SEAT IS HARD AS A ROCK. It will be okay for light short trips for a week or so but do yourself a favor and order the " Vitesse Deluxe Cruiser Seat " from Walmart.com I had this on my old bike and it is a super comfy seat for rear ends of ALL sizes. The best part is I dont have to pay for shipping on it because walmart not only has ship to store for free but ship to certain fed ex locations for free too so you can pick it up wherever is closer to you. I also had the guy at the bike shop remove the quick seat release pin and put in a regular pin so I dont have to worry about my seat getting stolen. So if you are on a tight budget and just want a basic bike to get around, get this bike, a good U-lock and a better seat and you are good to go :)

Just spend a little more from the beginning

I haven't had a bike in years and was looking for something inexpensive to ride around with my kids. I am short, so this girls bike was perfect for my height. My husband put it together and we found both rims were bent. We had to go through the bike company itself(not Walmart) to get new ones. After several emails and phone calls to figure out the process, the company sent them, no charge. We decided to have a bike shop repair and put on the new rims. It turns out the brakes were bad too. It cost me another $46 dollars. Either just spend a few extra and get a better bike altogether, or at least have the store put it together. I'm not sure if the problems would have been immediately addressed or not. A case of "You get what you pay for." The seat is uncomfortable like someone else said. It also took days for the strong, cheap rubber smell to clear from my garage. Could smell it inside my house.

10-Year-Old Girl's Bike

Good, solid child's bike. Intermediate gears do not always shift correctly, but most work fine. Good bike for someone you know will eventually outgrow it. Not on-par with $400 snazzy bike, but we didn't pay $400 for it. This is however NOT a mountain bike. It is a road bike with knobby wheels. Mountain biking would tear it up quickly! We purchased it as a neighborhood hybrid bicycle for street riding for a 10-year-old to use until her mid-teens. Altogether satisfied with purchase.

Bought this for my 11 year old, It arrived quickly and was easy to put together. The directions could have been easier but it took about 1/2 hour. I read about the bike before buying and found most people found the seat hard so I just ordered the Bell gell seat with it. Best price & value around, fun color especially when your daughtr is sick of pink!

The bike was great, and shipping was a week ahead of schedule. But, the store did not put it together, and when I took it out of the box, BOTH rims were bent. It was a ship-to-store product. the store said that online orders are part of Walmart, but the whole product had to be sent back, and I don't know how long it will take to replace it.

Bought it for my kid,
Pros: the cycle is good for the price,
Cons: the Gear were little too tight to change, and sometimes the gears didnt clinched properly. Maybe it needed a little tuneup but Walmart should have done that when they assembled it.

My daughter received this bike to replace her 20inch bike that was getting too small. We ordered the bike online and had it shipped to the house. The packaging was nice and we received the bike in good condition. My husband and I were able to put it together in about 20-25 minutes without instructions. If you are not handy maybe spend the extra to have someone else put it together for you. So far my daughter is in love and has been on it everyday even in the rain. The gears seem to shift well and the brakes stop quickly. For anyone with a sensitive rear end you may want to go out and purchase a gel cover for the seat. Other than that this is a great bike for the price!!
