Works well but is very heavy and I get tired vacuuming which never happened with my previous vacuum. Wish it had a retractable cord but otherwise it works well and is a good price. The upholstery tool is great on stairs. Definitely order extra belts. Ours snaps about once a month.

Replaced a bagless with this one. Never going back to bagless, too messy and hassle to clean. Had it shipped to store and it had minor damage to it, looks like someone dropped it too hard but I call eureka and they sent me a replacement part at no charge. Very powerful vac, you can feel it pulling forward when vacuuming. Only negative is the size and weight. Maybe the newer models are lighter and not as bulky.

Having the choice to disengage the beater bar makes this vacuum perfect if you have tile and laminate flooring with area rugs. Our last vac was a Eureka and it lasted for years, but we replaced it with the bagless Lightspeed model. With having 2 cats and a Belgian Shepherd, emptying the canister and cleaning the filter was a real nasty hassle, so I returned it and bought this one. We'll never go bagless again. This vacuum is heavy, but it glides easily, has great suction and runs comparatively more quietly.

I'm really happy with this purchase. I feel that I would be hard pressed to find another this good at this price. I'd decided that I needed a vacuum with a hepa filter and bag based on a little bit of research I had done. I'm highly sensitive to dust and other allergens, and this has really made a difference. I've had this a couple months now, it has very good suction and the bag filled pretty quickly, a good sign it's working like it should. I use it not just for my carpet, but bare floors and for dusting surfaces, ceiling fans, etc. with the brush attachment. Much better for me to be trapping the dust in this vacuum rather than wiping it off whatever surface and having it in the air. I like to use the turbo upholstery attachment to vacuum the hair from my 2 cuddly cats off my comforter too. I think one of the best indicators of how well this vacuum works was when I recently used a shampooer that was loaned to me. The last time I used it the water in the machine got really nasty, since this vacuum, the water in the machine looked remarkably clear. That has to be an indication of a much cleaner carpet.

You can hear the suction pull towards the floor to suction all the loose dirt and trash from floor! That's all the matters! And bagged!! I prefer bagged than bag less because it's very messy cleaning the bag less vacuums. Why have all that less to clean up after a vacuum?

GREAT vacuum! Didn't have to pay $200.00 to get the quality of a $200.00 product. LOVE it!! Lots of attachments-they all work very well. The attachment for the stairs and couchs actually got cat hair off-I'm very impressed!

By far one of the best vacuums I have owned. The suction is very strong. The price is great, I had owned the $139 version of this brand vacuum and this one is even better and stronger then the more expensive one.

This is the best vacuum for the price! It has excellent suction and does not clog up like most other vacuums. Great features such as stopping the roller when using on tile or hardwood floors. Works great and does the job just a well as a Dyson, if not better. Would highly recommend! By far the best vacuum I have ever owned!

Just received new vac today. Wow! It cleans better than other vacs we have owned including:
Kenmore, Kirby, Dirt Devil. It really does pull you forward! It is a fairly quiet machine. Very good features.......The roller comes to a stop when the handle is returned to upright. The roller can be turned off for use on hard surface floors. The hose and attachments work and store well.
Only 3 stars because the jury is still out after only one day. Will update later.

I have had this vacuum for about 3 weeks now and I have to say this vacuum is awesome.It is a little heavier than my old vacuum but it feels really solid and built well.The suction power is amazing and it takes off on it's own when vacuuming carpet.I really like the color, it's a manly color since I vacuum more than my wife does, Ha Ha.So in summary, I highly recommend this vacuum!

This vacuum is heavy and bulky. Somewhat difficult to push. Works fairly well, though. Dials are confusing for floor/carpet settings. Push pedal for handle is difficult to step on and release.

I had a terrific Eureka Boss Smart-Vac 4870 (blue one) for 5 years with twice-weekly vacuuming because of our two large dogs and several kids. It was a great vacuum at 1/3 the price of a Dyson. When my kids repeatedly sucked up shoe laces, they finally weakened the motor and I had to get a new vacuum. In looking to replace my Smart-Vac with another one, I found this similar model number at Walmart, labeled under the name "Air Extreme" and way cheaper than the Smart-Vacs sold in numerous big box and online stores. When it showed up, I found it to be exactly the same as my last vacuum, except it did not have a light but it did come with the Pet Paw and nicer wheels.
So, if you are looking for a Eureka Boss Smart-Vac and find this cheaper - get this vacuum. The suction is amazing, the features work really well and are very convenient, and the HEPA filter in addition to a bag keeps the home and dust in my home at an incredibly low level given the total amount of traffic running through my house.

I first purchased the Airspeed. I have cats. I really loved seeing the dirt & hair in the cup (pain to empty once per room). Strong suction. I didn't like that that the accordian type filter wasn't washable (dirt goes everywhere when tapping it or using a brush as recommended) & the tool holder (snaps in to the back) kept falling off. The cord where it connects to the machine couldn't be in a worse place. I did like that it was light in weight easy to manuever & it had good suction, though. I returned it & purchased the AirExtreme 4870UZ because I have cats & with the bagless it made better sense to just dispose of the bag than having to deal with the mess of empying & cleaning the filter & cup. Strong suction. I was disappointed, however, with the bulkiness & weight. A compromise that I made switching to a bagged vacuum. The bags are about $6 for 3 Arm & Hammer odor whatever type bag in the store. It comes with a cloth like disposable bag which I haven't found replacements yet. The tool holder is secured with screws & the cord is in a far better place. It comes with 2 wands. I like the quality of the hose but I wish it didn't have to worry about tipping the vacuum when extending it to comfortably reach the top of my drapes. Great vacuum although especially for the price. It cost $69 on line which was delivered in 2 days as opposed to the store price of $99. 2 year warranty.
I tried to compare this model (4870UZ) with the Boss Smart (4870MZ, GZ & SZ) which cost around $130. They appeared to have the same design & features, only the color varied & some might have charcoal filters, they came with only a 1 yr warranty. I don't get it!
I have recommended it for purchase.

Bought this one because it uses a bad. Hate bagless ones. Great suction power. Love that you can direct the suction to either the floor or the tools. Very easy to push. I have always had good luck with Eureka machines.

This vacuum has great suction. Nice bag install and attachment, good build quality. Nice features, adjustability, attachments. Being able to turn the brush on and off is useful. And the price is fantastic. Most vacuums at this level are almost twice the price. And replacement bags are cheap and can be found everywhere.

It is heavy. Lugging this thing up and down stair may be too much for some. And the release lever is terrible. Very small and takes too much force to release the hinge. It is beyond a bad design. It is awful. But if you can live with these two items, you will not find more features and performance for anywhere near the price.

What a great vacuum this is. I checked out other vacuums and their reviews and this one seemed to be the best. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and definately did not want a bagless. This works great, has wonderful suction both on floor and with wand. Other reviewers said they had problems with the release button but so far I'm not having any problems with it. I've used it a few times now and the bag (which is huge) is almost full, that is how much dirt/dust it picks up. I also have two cats and it cleans their loose fur up beautifully. I don't seem to think it's any heavier than my old vacuum was and it is a little quieter. It's still loud like vacuums are but it's quieter than the old one. I have no problems getting the size RR bags either. I can get them in the store or online (online was cheaper). Definately a great buy.

This vacuum is exactly what I was looking for to pick up dog hair on my hardwood floors and furniture. It is heavy, but if you do not need to carry it up stairs, it is excellent!
