Experience the most versatile digital phone service. The NetTalk Duo is designed to connect directly to your router or modem, which saves you cost and energy. The NetTalk phone has a glossy black plastic and chrome plastic lining the sharp edges and covering the flat side of the device. To get started, all you need is high-speed Internet and a traditional corded or cordless telephone. It is provided with three ports - a micro USB port, Ethernet port and a telephone jack port. You can make free calls to the US & Canada and ultra-low cost international calls from anywhere in the world. The NetTalk phone provides with both e-mail and phone customer service. This NetTalk Duo VoIP telephone service creates fax-friendly phone line with free calling features such as 411 Directory Assistance, Enhanced 911, Visual Voicemail, call waiting, conference calling etc.
I installed unit [easy] but could NOT get it to work properly. Called "tech support' [bad joke] and after a long effort, finally got a "ticket" written. Why a customer has to go thru some many steps is obvious - they want you to give up. After fianlly getting it done, the voice [using my cell phone] explained that tech was only available from 10 to 4 on Saturday and it was 3 and they were gone for the day but would return tommorrow after 10 AM. 11 Am Sunday, the same runaround and NO tech support. Glad I bought it from Walmart and could get my money back.

The phone is clear as a bell. Very inexpensive phone service. If everyone knew about this there would be no need for the expensive phone companies. I paid $25 a month for regular phone service and that didn't include any extra services. With Duo I get all the services and I paid the same amount for the whole year that I was paying for a month. It saves me over $275 a year. It would save someone that is paying for all the options from the big phone companies a lot more than that.

it took me a long time to set up. once i did, eveyrthing was fine but some calls wouldn't connect & 1 of those persons lives on 3 miles from me. there were people that said they been calling me & figured i wasn't home. i was home. i should have just got magic jack like everyone told me to. i am returning this & getting magic jack. we had a power outage & now i can't get it set up again. this was an awful experience..

set it up and tested it out. my calls were breaking up. customer service number is a recording telling you to call from net talk phone. i waited 1 1/2 on hold to be told to unplug my phone and they would call my cell to walk me through steps. that guy never called and i plugged the phone back in to call them and now couldn't get a dial tone to call them back. RETURN! no wonder they get such a low rating on amazon.

This is a great voip product. It works really good, easy set up, clear call quality, and its price a little better than magic jack. I would recommend this to all my friends and family.

Review 6 for NetTalk Duo, VoIP Telephone Service
ok, just dont need tech support

will ring called number, then silence. the called person answers and reports silence. happens with different numbers, at different times. been over 50 minutes on hold. why provide the option to call, if your not going to provide the support?
the hold volume goes up and down. so you have to keep the volume up so you won't miss being answered. awful music, an affront to humanity. oh my bleeding ears!
after call was finally answered, answered all questions polity. the agent seemed unfazed when told took almost an hour to reach. suggestions were given and were followed or already done. was then given a customer id# and told would be transferred to tech support. but that was the option selected after going thru the phone trouble-shooting tree!
now up to 90 minutes! started with a fully charged cordless phone. the race is on, will the phone die? will finally reach tech support, then have the phone die? it been a unbelievably terrible experience. will now ease your suspense, phone died after an hour 47 minutes. no tech support for me today.

nettalk is fraud, dont buy. I lost $170 in 2 month

When I bought this service last year, it was very good and it was working as advertised. On March 2013(a month back), I renewed my service for whole year by paying 35.47 for US/Canada and 133.78 for International add on. It worked for a month and then suddenly I cannot call India, after waiting for 45 mins in call he asked me to send email to c2 at nettalk. com. I sent they said they reduced the minutes to 600 per month, so its 2 cents per minute but most of other online websites like rebtel lets me call for 1.5 cents. So I asked them to cancel my account and give me a refund, but without notice they cancelled my account and saying that they cannot refund the money.
I sent an email again, saying give me the money or re-enable my account and no reply from them. called today to customer service after waiting for 1 hour and again he asked me to send email to customer support. What a rip off these people, because of me, 3 of my friends bought this plan this year and they also have same problem. We will not continue this service again, I am lookin for justice in some way so i am writing here. Also I am going to write whereever I can.
Please dont buy this, I promise one day you'll have a problem then you will not be answered by nettalk. I am going to get vonage.

Absolute Junk!!! BUY AN OBi100 For The Same Price!

This is junk, It will work fine for a few months then went out. Tech support has no Idea what to do and they will not replace it even if its still under the year warrenty. You will have to contact the BBB.. Read other reviews on the web, they are true. Your number will magically get disconnected. So when someone calls in it will say disconnected but you can still call out.. Tech support trouble shooted mine for over a month, and still has not replaced it. BUY A OBi100, It uses google voice easy to setup and is completely free.. I stopped trying to get my nettalk working and bought the OBi100 after reading tons of reviews on Amazon, Newegg, ETC. BUT AVOID NETTALK unless you want to waste your money.

International calling is CAPPED at 600 minutes

Nettalk as a phone for USA calling is OK, but they advertise international calling as UNLIMITED, but then cap it to 600 minutes to India and other countries, if it is capped, you should sell it as such, not label it UNLIMITED. Also they change their reasonable use policy as it seems fit, and then no refunds.
Its unfair that they change their terms and say no refunds. If you are buying this for INTERNATIONAL CALLING, please do not buy it, you have other calling cards that are cheaper.
I lost 120$ in their UNLIMITED calling plan, and no refunds, its unfair.

I wanted to get rid of my home phone to save money, but I cant use this product because it doesnt hook up with our guardian monitor service. I am keeping it to use for the business phone so I will end up saving money there.

Review 13 for NetTalk Duo, VoIP Telephone Service
Poor service and support
,

Voice quality is really bad with frequent disconnections, customer service wait time mostly 30 mins. After submitting a service ticket, I got a response saying I have not responded to their questions after 2 months. I had not received anything. Real surprise is their international add-on, where they say unlimited, but is highly limited, they will disconnect the service even for 600 mins saying the limit is based on fair usage policy.

Sorry, but the product did not work. I could not get it installed. When I attempted to contact nettalk, I had to enter a "ticket" which I did, but they have not responded to in 24 hours. I plan to try again, and if unsuccessful, I will return the product to the store.

Review 19 for NetTalk Duo, VoIP Telephone Service
Good in Concept

Had high expectations, but was disappointed. Was easy to set up. Worked great for the first week, then didn't get phone calls. Didn't realize it until people started calling my cell phone. Contacted customer service, but beware! Their hours are 10am-4pm EST. If you work you will most likely end up trading emails back and forth with them for 3 weeks before you give up and return the item.
My advice: buy Magic Jack Plus. It is a little more, but worth it in the long run. Magic Jack Plus is easy to install and have had no problems with it.

Not even a month and seems to be working good. So far here are doubtful issues. 1. Fax capability(unsuccessful sending faxes) 2. Dialing Local numbers (Using #1 & area code even is if you live in the same city)
Will re-post updates later.
