This computer was used for primarily web browsing and online games. It worked well for one year. When the warranty was expired, the hard drive died for no reason.

With no damage, new hardware or new software, it blue screened after 9 months and recovery fails to recover it. Unusable and has to be returned to manufacturer at my expense for 'repair', leaving me without a computer for weeks. Loved it when it worked. Speed was acceptable and had hdmi which gave me great graphics. Would've replaced it but it has been clearanced out. The 'new' model in stock doesn't have all the features such as plenty of usb ports. I'm not happy.

This is my very first computer, I fully enjoy the speeds of the cpu, it has great graphics. The windows 7 is also nice. I say that for the price vs all the options that come with this package, its worth it.

I was looking for a storage media device to store MP3's, videos, and pics, the price for this device was about 200, then i saw this at our local walmart for $230, clearance brand new. It works and performs execellent, for my needs. The one thing wish it came with is a SPDIF input, but can't ask much more for this price.

All in all I have stress tested it in gaming,software building/editing,music writing/editing,and much more. I am a avid hard core first person shooter mmo gamer and for the money i spent ($400) it has met and passed all of my expectations i highly recommend this computer to all who need a good stable computer

Good for the Money.

The computer has lived up to expectations. It does everything I need. Its fast enough to keep up with me (a pretty avid multitasker) and has more than enough memory for anything I'll ever need. However, with all the pros there are a few cons. If the computer goes to sleep, it'll wake up and let you move the mouse around, but if you click anything too soon, it'll freeze up for a few seconds (which is annoying). Also, occasionally while doing things, the computer will freeze for a few seconds (if you're in the middle of listening to music, it'll freeze the note and give out this awful screeching sound until the computer unfreezes (a few seconds later)). I've also had a few issues with the dvd/cd drive. For the longest time the computer didn't recognize the drive. Eventually I cut off the computer, unplugged it, took the cover off and played with the wires, attempting to make sure that it had a good connection. After this, the pc picked up the cd drive and it's worked just fine.
Overall, I'd say the computer works great and is great for the money. I could have paid more and not have to deal with a few minor annoyances and hardware issues, but overall it's nothing major.

this is a great computer right out of the box. only thing is the speakers have a lot of static and are really cheap. i used my old speakers . much smaller than my old dell, and very fast. i'm new to windows 7, and loving it. the graphics are great and play my civillization 4 games.

After viewing everyones reviews I just purchased this as a replacement for my hp, I just went back to college for my degree in web design and the hp from being so old would not hold all the software needed, as with 1tb hd and 4gb of ram this is sufficient for the time being. Just hoping this will last me through 3 years of college. One flaw is this does not have wireless or bluetooth built in.

Right out of the box she was fast, i added 4 more GB of Ram 8 GB total, now she Screams!. I deleted all the bloat-ware and added system mechanic pro. she is low profile and sleek with esata/HDMI, DDR3 Ram; a definite plus...i was Leary at first but i'm glad i got this one..only 2 things i do not like is the front usb/card port door, it's made of flimsy plastic and will eventually break off and also the integrated graphics otherwise it's perfect...there are firmware updates available, Yes i would highly recommend this one.

Fast and quiet. Add a video card and you a have a great computer. I added a Sapphire HD Radeon 5570 1 gb ddr3 card(very low profile and only uses 43w) and its all the average user will ever need. Does all basic tasks very fast.

This computer is amazing ! My first non-XP computer, first 64 bit computer. This computer just flies. So much faster than my older computers.
I got the ACER monitor, too, and that is also very good.
Good price Just in the store when I bought so very good. - Comes with excel and word. I had a little trouble with the CD writing as couldn't figure out the software right away so ended up upgrading but not sure I really had to. Even if I did, this is still an amazing computer for the price. About 2.5 times as fast as my older computers (which weren't that bad, really).

The Acer 3400g is the best computer for the money that I have found,It is very fast The start up time for Windows7 is about 1 min.Windows 7 is great once you get used to it.With a Dual core 3.1ghz processor and 4g of installed ram nothing slows this computer down.I just love it.I guess the only negative things I would say about this system is it needs it own dedicated video card and I am not sure that's possible as the power supply is only 220 watts.Also the speakers that come with it leave a lot to be desired.But for this price it's still an amazing deal,I would recommend this computer to anyone.

Great PC with Lousy LAN Controller

This is a great PC for the money but it has one major flaw. The on-board network controller (Nvidia NForce) works only when it feels like it. You can be downloading your email or surfing the Web one minute and the next your're running the network troubleshooter trying to figure out why you can't get online. This, while all other computers on your network (wired and wireless) are sailing along without a bump. Evidentally the Nvidia Network Controller has an inherent problem with the 64bit Win7 operating system. Google this and you'll see what I mean. As long as you're prepared to spend another $20 to $40 bucks for a decent PCIe LAN card I'd say go ahead and buy it.

Not Such a Great Deal

I purchased this desktop about three weeks ago.
The sound system does not work and the keyboard died after a week. The CPU seems to work ok, but I really wish the speakers and sound system worked along with it. I'm ready to return this product to the company and go buy another Dell.
I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

This Acer brand and the Walmart price was the deciding factor along with how much storage you get with the product. I took the 2 year warrenty with Walmart just to be safe. So far it has passed my expectations, by that I mean it was easy to hook up and it is very fast and it boots up fast. My biggest surprise is how quiet it runs. I would definitely buy another Acer the next time I look for a computer. I also bought the Acer Monitor. I got the Monitor 40.00 cheaper on line and delivered to the store the next day. I am a satisfied costumer.

We found this product to be just what we needed. Fast, quiet, easy to set up. My kids love it also, it is fast with games/loading, playing- no glitches. Videos are quick also. It has more than enough memory and storage, so we are happy there as well. A great all around purchase for us!
