The only reason I bought this was because it said on the website that it was closed captioned for hearing impaired. When I got it I was so excited to watch it and know what was being said that I didn't even check the package to verify before opening it. It isn't closed captioned and now I have a nonreturnable item that isn't closed captioned. Of course I guess in all fairness that isn't the fault of the movie, but the fault of the website having incorrect information.

Lovely, very funny, charming, and well worth a watch (or two, or three...), you will love this edition of Pride and Prejudice! Mr. Bennett is hilarious, and Lydia Mr. Collins are also very good for laughs. I highly recommend this tale of love, romance, and propriety in old British times.

Very good movie, follows the story line of the book more closely than other versions of this film that I have seen. I recieved this movie with in the time frame that walmart promised it, and it was in very good condition.

I first watched this movie after a friend highly recommended it and I borrowed it from the library. She had told me about the other BBC version, and I didn't realize there would be more than one available, so this is the one I found and got! I work PM shift, and started watching it shortly after getting home from work that night, and couldn't stop watching it - I was up until around 4:30 in the morning watching the movie and was sooooo tired the next day!! But, it's totally worth it! Since then, I've watched it probably five times, and have now purchased it so that I can watch it all the time, whenever I want to! :-D

This Pride and Prejudice is the closest to the book I have seen. The actors and actresses are spectacular, and who wouldn't like Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy? The costumes and sets are wonderful and exactly that time period. The story in itself is pure poetry and a classic romance that will entertain readers for several generations to come.

If you are a true Austen fan, you can forget all the other versions of Pride & Predudice made to date. In my opinion, this has got to be the best version of Jane Austen's most popular novel. The Regency Period, the clothing and the multitude of characters in the book spring to life in this 300 minute adaptation. Jennifer Ehle's performance as Elizabeth Bennet is incredible and Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy will probably never be matched. David Bamber who plays Mr. Collins is obnoxiously charming with his continual praising of Lady Catherine de Bourg. Every cast member did a wonderful job with his or her character. Bravo to the actors and actresses, the producer and director for having the courage to avoid a visual bullet point version in favor of one that follows the novel most faithfully.

I am a Jane Austin fan and enjoy her work very much. I have been searching for this particular version of "Pride and Prejudice" since watching it on PBS. This version is very enjoyable and has become my favorite. By having the DVD I can watch it all the way through without having to wait a week inbetween or at breaks most comfortable to me. The actors were well chosen to fit the characters they play. You almost feel like you are a participant instead of just an observer.
