Except one thing missing. I would like to see a cell pocket above each cargo pocket like the ones with out the elastic waist.
I have two grey pair of these, but that was the only color in the store, and I had to go to two different stores to get those. I would like to see more colors like navy and camo.
By the way the Hkier and the Hero Hiker shorts are the same.
The only reason I didn't give all fives, the missing cell pockets.

I rated this 4 stars because after washing as instructed they neeed ironing as they came out quite wrinkled. These are definitely not true wash and wear. I love the styling and roominess. These shorts can worn in both a casual and non casual setting. they ironed up nicely and didn;t shrink when washed.

Exceptional value in a pair of quality made shorts. And thank goodness Wrangler knows that all men don't want short that go down past their knees. The material feels good and solid and the "cargo" pockets don't stick out or look bulky. These will definitely be my workhorse shorts.

I first purchased a pair of these shorts in the store. My husband loved them but they didn't have any more in his size so I purchased more through the online store. He is a handyman and works outside a lot. The fabric keeps him cool, the pockets allow him to carry phone, etc. and they (the pockets) are not big and bulky like some of the shorts I have purchased for him in the past have. They wash up well and hold their color. I also love the affordable postage to have them shipped to our home. Thanks Walmart!

Good design, better than cargo shorts

Garment was true to size. Well made and good value. Much nicer than cargo shorts. Quality is the usual Wrangler rugged design.
Hiking shorts have pockets that extend all the way to the bottom of the shorts. Roomy, useful and importantly for hiking you won't lose items out of your pocket. You also have additional front pockets with velcro closure similar to cargo shorts. Roomy rear pockets also with velcro closure. I also find them good for biking again, deep pockets mean you won't lose items. Walmart has these cheaper than you find them elsewhere.
Shorts also feature wide belt loops and a ring integral to the shorts for attaching things. Things like keys or flashlight or pocket knife with lanyard etc. etc.

I like the looks,fit,value, but how long was the designer's arms to reach the bottom of the pockets??? Where the pocket bottom is makes anything in the pocket to swing wildly and beat my knees.

This is the short I has been looking for a long time. Fair price cargo. Nowdays it is difficult to find short shorts. You only find long ones, and for the summer they are the best. The only thing some people could compain is that they have very deep main pockets. So perhaps it difficult to find a key. But for me they are perfect.
Now I have to see how it will do in the laundry.
