I inherited this from my dad. I had recently purchased a Kirby which I found to be big, bulky, heavy and didn't clean my hardwood floor very good. This shark took on that Kirby with gusto!! The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because the hose is to short and when you detach it from the handle to clean with the crevasse tool, the vacuum always falls over. This in turn has caused both clips on the canister to break. It still has great suction, but I figured this should be a little sturdier. I have had it for 2 years, and today when I was vacuuming it started making an awful noise. Not sure what happened but it overheated and turned off. I may be looking for a new one tomorrow??? I will get another shark, even though I still have that Kirby!

I am so pleased with this vacuum cleaner!! It is light, easy to use, and picks up EVERYTHING! I know someone who spent 3 times the price of the Shark, and that vacuum can't compare. You do need to empty the dust cup fairly often to keep the function at its best, but that is a small price to pay for NO bags, NO dust flying around, and great suction.

great sweeper

I love this sweeper!!! I had the same sweeper for over 5 years that I didn't care for at all. We have a very small house so this sweeper is great for us. It moves very easily and is very lightweight. The canister is so easy to dump and get completely clean after each use. The filter is in a place that you don't have to be careful not to get it wet or damage while "dumping" the dirt. I would recommend this to anyone. My kids who are 3 and 2 also can use this sweeper because it is so lightweight and moves easily. They beg to run the sweeper!! lol

I have cats & they throw up on the carpet periodically. Usually, I have to brush the spots to loosen the messes before my other vacuums would pick it up. I had a couple of spots I hadn't brushed yet. The shark picked up everything after only 1 pass over the area!! It was great.

I purchased the Shark because we recently moved and I needed a 2nd vacuum for downstairs and a canister vacuum for the stairway.
It's great! Very easy to use, easy to take apart and use just the canister for the stairway.
I was surprised that I liked it as well as my Dyson that I paid much more for.

A past roommate brought the Shark Navigator vacumm home after doing research and I have to say it is a great vacumm. So much so that when I moved out, I purchased this very same Shark when I went looking for a vacumm. It's light-weight, the dirt collection cannister is easy to empty and I do like that you can take the cannister off to continue vacumming in small or tight places. Two small cons... I wish the hose was longer and more flexible and I wish it came with extender tubes. Other than that this is a great purchase (especially when bundled with another Shark product).

I am disappointed that it is almost impossible to reach areas to remove cobwebs and dust around windows and walls.. It is a great vacuum as far as suction, but if you need one to cover top to bottom this is not the machine for you. Very Very short extension hose to reach more than 3 to 4 feet.. Wished I had noticed it before I bought.. Would have done more research and found one what would have met my needs.. Even with extension wand.. it does not make the grade... If all you need is a vacuum for floors this is the machine for you.. Otherwise.. shop around like I wished I had..

this is my second shark, and I do love it. But my first one had a longer cord and seem to suck up better then this one. Don't get me wrong, I think its great, but why did they shorten the cord? Walmarts price was the lowest, no one beat there price. Thank you!!!

Great vacuum. I couldn't believe how much it picked up out of my carpet. Easy to handle and easy to empty. Wish I had tried it sooner. I have 3 dogs and the carpet is cleaner than it has been in a very long time. If you have dogs you will love this vacuum. My old vac did a poor job when going against the carpet pile. The shark does a great job whether or not you are going against the pile.

So my old (as in 9-month old) Eureka vacuum decided to shut off and never, ever turn back on again. Of course it had to happen a week before money went in the bank and we were flat broke. I went all week without cleaning my floors and my allergies and sinuses sure could tell it. I bought a new one this afternoon after reading a lot of good reviews on it, and omg - I liked to vacuum before, but now I LOVE to vacuum! This sucker is awesome. I've done the whole house, the kitchen floor, the hallways, the bathrooms, the sofa and loveseat... this thing has created a monster. For anyone needing a new vac, check out the Shark Navigator Lift-Away!

The day before I bought my new Shark, I vacuumed my entire upstairs with my old vacuum. My old vacuum (six years old) was one of Consumer reports best deals but I never thought it was that great, sort of bulky, attachments everywhere, and the rotatory brush belt had to be replaced three times. Even with its issues, I thought it still did a pretty good job....wow was I wrong about that!
Once I got the new Shark put together (which was very easy to do) I vacuumed one of the rooms that I had just vacuumed the day before and was blown away about how much dirt the Shark picked up that my old vacuum had left behind. I then did the rest of my house with the Shark and the results were the same. You probably will have to see this for yourself but I can say that my experience with this vacuum has been extremely positive
Pro: Lightweight, not expensive compared to Dyson, great for doing steps, smaller head so very easy to get into tight places, cord is plenty long, extremely powerful suction.
Con: Smaller head means you cant cover as much ground as a 15 in head but that is a very minor complaint.

Previous purchase was basic navigator. Great vacuum but needed model for stairs. Lift-away did not disappoint. "Lift away" works seemingly flawless. The swivel aspect provides for almost effortless performance. Comes with the two attachments that I use the most- crevice tool and pet hair brush. Love, love the extra long cord!

I live my new Shark Navigator! Its got great suction, very light weight and easy on my bad back, and very maneuverable in small tight spaces! It made my carpet look really good and even got rave reviews from my neighbor on how clean it was the first time I used it! Definitely recommend! I actually enjoy cleaning now and find a reason to use it!

I LOVE THIS VACUUM! I NEEDED A REPLACEMENT SO I WENT ON LINE TO REVIEW THIS ONE - SO GLAD I DID. THIS IS A BIT BETTER THAN THE DYSON IT REPLACED IN THAT I NOW HAVE A COUPLE OF ATTACHMENTS TO USE ON FURNITURE, ETC (I ONLY HAD THE BRUSH WITH THE OLD VAC). SUCTION IS POWERFUL AND ADJUSTABLE - NEW FEATURE FOR ME. THIS VAC IS A LITTLE HEAVIER THAN MY OLD ONE BUT HAVE ADJUSTED TO THAT; SAVED MYSELF A GOOD BIT OF MONEY TO BOOT. EVERYBODY NEEDS A SHARK!!!!

I was planning to buy Dyson but found this vacuum that offers everything that dyson does for 1/3 of a price. Great vacuum, great suction - I live by the beach and my carpets are always covered with sand and this vacuum does the great job! Love it!
