This is my second intex pool and we went bigger because of the good quality of the 18 footer, first season and water everywhere around the pool and going down by inches everyday, guess what is not warrantied the liner seams leaking and looks like tiny holes all over the bottom. Customer service no help and no replacement liner available, intex located in CA so I live on east coast, now I have all the hardware and pump and no liner, if I order one the shipping is by truck at the small cost of $500, the replacement liner is $595 when intex gets them back in stock, new pool of same size when wal mart gets them is $699 do the math. Question is is the new pool of the same quality liner everyone is having trouble with or the new replacement liner??? Not happy with intex, at all.

I am replacing my old Intex pool and they have made a lot of improvements that make this pool much better and stronger. The rails and legs are "D" shaped instead of the round. The pump now has a timer built in and is about 75% quieter. We are very happy with the new pool. For the price, you can't beat the quality.
I went on Ebay and found a permanent filter for the Intex pump for about $35. You can take it out and just wash it instead of using those expensive paper filters that need changing a couple times a week. This filter paid for itself in the first month of use.
I also mounted the ladder's feet (on the outside) to a board well secured into the ground and made it much less wobbly and safer. I used pipe wall clamps screwed to a piece of plywood that was anchored to the ground.

I was surprised that it took me and one helper 75 minutes to remove the items from the box and set up the pool. It comes with everything you need except chemicals. The kids really like the volley ball net and ball. The filter is way too small for the 12,000 gallons of water that the pool holds. I bought extra filters from the local pool store because the filter becomes very dirty after a day or 2. The ladder is a bit wobbly so I bought one with a wider base. It is still a great pool.

We have had this pool for almost 2 months and it has been wonderful. We also purchased the saltwater generator to work with the pool. I read reviews that said not to add the full amount of salt but in our particular experience we had to add the recommended salt to keep the pool from being slimy. But since adding the recommended amount of salt 300+ pounds, the water has been crystal clear! I highly recommend this pool!!

Well, we have only had it up for about 4 days now. The size of the product and the ease of putting it up was great. We had four grandchildren helping to put things together. We swim in it every day. However the ladder is sub standard and the pool cover ripped when we tried to put it on. It only has a short warranty time so I would not even order it until you have your spot prepared where you are going to install it. MUST be on level ground.

This pool is great! The size for the money, 24'x52", is a good deal. It takes 2-3 people to set up, about 3 hours and about 5 days to fill. I am on well water so had to be careful. No problems though. I read the reviews and it was about half and half. I was mainly concerned about leaks, This pool had none. The ground should be as level as possible, mine is slightly lopsided, but still OK. I put 160 pounds of pool salt in, didn't get the pumps running for a couple of days and the water still stayed crystel clear. I bought the Krystal clear salt water system and love it. I have not had to add anything else to the water, just run the pump and filter system for 1-2 hours and done. The weather here in Ga is HOT! The ladder is cheap and wobbley, so be careful. I plan on putting up a small deck because I don't want to fall, especially if I am by myself. They should improve the ladder. The salt water system hooks up to the filter system that comes with the pool. I bought my salt water pump at Wal-Mart, did not order online and saved $30.00. The pool, salt water system, sand which is optional, and bobcat to clear the ground and pool salt was about $1,410.00 total. I did alot of research and for the money, this can't be beat. I decided to add salt a little at a time instead of the 300 + pounds called for because of the reviews. I did not want to have to drain the pool and start over or keep adding water to dilute it. I bought the 6 way strips to keep a daily check on the water and so far, all is good ;-) I was going to get a steel pool next year, but if this holds up, I'll stick with this. By the way, I am leaving it up all winter. I'll add another review when I start back up next spring/summer and let everyone know how it held up and if the pumps had problems. The reviews for the filter that came with the pool stated it was too small for this size pool, we'll see. One more thing, from the reviews and we did have to do it, put some wood under some of the legs to help stabilize it. Some might not have to do this, just in case.

We love this pool. So easy to assemble and so large, it gives our family room to swim and play. The pump is strong and with daily netting, the water is crystal clear. The ladder could be sturdier, but it holds all of our weight easily.

Had an 18' intex pool that was great but got ruined in a wind storm. I had gotten it at sam's club so I purchased another one. This year though they didn't carry intex. It was called pro series. 6000 gallons of water later I found out it had a LEAK in it so I returned it. I thought maybe it was because it wasn't intex so I bought this one at walmart. 12000 gallons of water later it LEAKED! Tiny holes and two seams so it could not be patched. Walmart was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! They worked with me to make the return as easy as possible and I got all my money back. I paid someone to put up and take down these pools and I filled them each time. A lot of money to me. We never got to swim in either one but when all is said and done I AM going to try again next summer. My first one last year was great and I am hoping I just ran into a bad batch! After this experience I will ALWAYS shop at walmart. They went above and beyond to make all of this less painful and as easy as possible.

This pool is almost as great as the big above ground pool I have at my last home. But alot cheaper! It is made of metal legs and t-post that snap together and they are woven through the liner, not as complicated as it sounds. However, you absolutely have to have level ground. I had to scrap the dirt and buy 6 yards of sand to level the ground professionally. I also purchased a 30x30 tarp to put on top of sand and under the pool to keep sand from getting tracked in it. I replaced the ladder with a small wooden deck and 38" mighty step on inside that comes out and mounts to deck for stability. I dont like ladders. I am changing the cartridge filter out soon to a sand filter system and putting in a fountain to cool the water. It's hot here! Excellent for the money!

I purchased this pool in Feb. received it in March. I purchased early to ensure availability. Living in the Midwest, we endured the long winter followed by a rainy spring. Finally got a chance to put it up in the second week of June. Level ground is an obvious must and there is no ground cover. Purchased a pool pad for about $100.00. When we got the liner out to set up. upon unrolling... in the corner where it was folded, was a rip, big enough to fit my pinkie through. It appeared to have been rubbing on something, since this is the first it was out of the box, it had to happen before or during shipping. Immediately I phoned intex..only to be told of a 90 day warranty, that expired 12 days earlier. They in no way wanted to help and basically said to patch it or buy a new liner for $546.00. Although a great price for this size pool..I paid for a new, undamaged pool. Disappointed, they seem to refuse to stand by their product and make it difficult. Will not purchase from them again.

I first purchased this on walmart.com. Well, when it arrived at the store, the box was torn and beat up. Parts of the pool were sticking out of box. So i didn't even take it home, I returned it right away..why gamble, i have read the reviews too. I had to drive some time to get to a walmart that actually had it in stock and box was perfect...so was the pool after setting it up. my advice is do not buy the pool when box is beat up. This is a delicate product. So far, pool has been set up for a month now with 6 kids and 2 adults using it. I do not know what to expect this winter, it is not as stable as a pool city pool, but then again, it is not $3,000 either. I am using the pump it came with and using chemicals. If you clean pool daily, you will have no worries. Set up was easy...but I rented bobcat to level ground with contractor help. if ground is not level, you will have a "deep end". The skimmer it came with has holes that a dinosaur can jump through, so i am using a different one. I pray that i wont have the problems some people have and have to deal with intex. All i can say is that i am on a tight budget and had a few dollars to work with. I am very pleased with what my few dollars has bought!

I have owned this pool for five years and love it! I have owned the high-dollar pool center pools in the past and they have drained my bank account every spring when I opened the pool. In five years the only thing I have had to replace was the pump and that was due to my error. I have drained the pool down to below the intake and removed the fittings for the winter for two years and the pool did fine. This is not recomended by the manufacture. There are 6 kids in my family that enjoy this pool(and they don't baby it) and lots of friends! The pool is not a back yard beauty but I can't say any above ground pool is. I paid $699. for the pool 5 years ago and if it burst today- I still got every penny and more out of this pool.

Well i wish i had read all the BBB reviews on intex pools before i had purchased this one. Just bought it yesterday and set it up and after filling it through the night (about 18" deep so far) i found a small imperfection that is dribbling water out of it. This was super easy to set up last night but bummed it likely must come back down. The Intex company is apparently aweful to deal with so i am going back to walmart to purchase a service plan and patch kit. The service plan is good for 2 years and i dont have to deal with Intex horrible customer service or wait til the end of the summer to receive a new liner that i cant setup til fall to only find that leaks as well which is what hundreds of consumers have reported to be the case. It is what it is at this point so we are going to make the best of it and enjoy it this summer. Hopefully this pool gives us two years of use

You mentioned in your review that the liner of the pool leaked and you wished you had of purchased a service plan. Does WalMart offer this and if so how much is the approx. cost of the plan. Has the pool worked out okay for you so far? thanks

I purchase my Intex 24" in 04. This year be the last season. Now it start fall a part on the top where the rails go trough. In winter I keep water in and winterise the pool with good cover. I also purchase real pump, because the small one can't handle the amount of water. I have for it Kreepy Krauly Lil Shark vacuum, what keeps the pool nice and clean with out to much work. All the metal parts still like new. I had never problem with it. I'm in TX so the pool is exposed to high temperatures, and I do understand why the top is now giving up. Great pool, that's all I can say.

I love the value and size of the pool for my family. I opened and set up the pool, the assembly was fairly straight forward but at least two people should be involved for ease. care nees to be used when leveling the ground with a pool this size. I got the pool assembled in about an hour and began filling the pool. after allowing the pool to fill all day I noticed there was a leak somewhere. By the next morning the water had collected all around the pool. I leveled the ground with a rented escivator and placed a 30X50 tarp folded over under the pool, so I am confident that the leak was a defect from the manufacturer. the downside is that I have to drain the pool, which is taking a very long time and return it for another one. The box is over 300lbs and I am sure getting all of that stuff back neatly in the box will prove to be a challenge. Walmart is great and helpful by replacing the pool, Intex wanted me to cut a huge hole from the liner and mail it in saying it would take 30+ days to get another one. By then the summer would be over. After I get a new pool and set it up I will write another review, but as for right now I am not very happy.

The first year the pool was great, year two, the pump quit working, which by the way is not big enough for the pool and doesnt circulate the water well. It is now year three and the skimmer hose has broken, the pump doesnt work, AND one of the valves broke yesterday when we opened it so water could go through. Basically I will say that you get what you pay for with this pool. Its alot cheaper than other pools its size, but now I see why. It has been nothing but a pain in the you know what. If I can get all the parts relaced it will be a great pool. We got the salt water system this year and were really excited about that but may end up having to buy a new pump too.
