Beware... Mugs are not made of same material!

I love Corelle! I bought the 'Corelle Livingware Country Cottage' on a black Friday 2 years ago! They are not scratched from everyday use & the design isn't even faded & no chips! Mint condition!
So, since I love the Twilight design I ordered it online as a bundle offer ( 2 pkgs for $100). I love how they look... Very classy! But to my disappointment, the mugs are not made of 'vitrelle glass'. Therefore, I doubt if it has the same characteristics of the plates. They should mention that in the item description! They give an overall description which doesn't exclude the mugs. The prints on the bottom of the mugs said 'Porcelain' and 'Made in China'. While, the plates were stamped 'Chip & break resistant' and 'Made in USA'. Isn't that something important to be mentioned under item description, especially when buying online? Especially when you're paying that MUCH money for a supposedly 'Vitrelle glass' whole set?
On the other hand, the mugs are made of porcelain! To my knowledge porcelain is good material for kitchen ware, not a low quality material. But I do know it's breakable & chippable! Time will only tell!

I personally prefer heavier plates, but my kids (ages 5, 8, 10) managed to break 8 of my pevious plates in less than 3 weeks. We had that dish set for 4 years, so not sure why they all broke all of a sudden. So, I figured we needed to do Corelle for a while. I really liked this pattern the best. It was still sophisticated enough to match my decor and did not appear cheap. The plates are lightweight enough for my 5 year old to get a stack of 5 plates out for dinner. They also clean up easily (again with kids washing-yes, my kids help with cooking and cleaning). They seem to hold up well. And they stack neatly in the cabinet. I have not seen any scratches from knife use either. I also bought the site to store set of 32 pieces and saved $20! I went back to walmart and bought the white pasta bowls to complete my set, and the color matches perfect.

Very, very disappointed. They now give plain white (actually with a faded blue rim) bowls with the set. I can't find the old design anywhere! Shame....

Love the light blue with the brown and pink/purple color. Was surprised the bowls had a blue rim not brown when they arrived. Some of the pictures online were brown rim, but the blue is pretty too.

It was a very pretty design but not the colors I was expecting. Tons more blue than could be seen in the pictures. I was looking for something with red and gray and this was blue and brown. I ended up returning it and getting a different design. Still a very pretty design if those are the colors you are looking for.

I searched for a nice dining set over one month, and when I saw the picture of this product I though it is what I was looking for. But as it received, i saw that the picture is completely different with the product. It seems cheap and is not beautiful at all. The colors are so pale, for example, the flowers are pale pink and the rest of the design is also so pale that you might think it is washed regularly over several years!

I have always loved Corelle dishes but the design on these are so elegant and the dishes are durable especially when you have teenagers in the house that are clumsy. They are beautiful, they are a great price they are nicer then I expected them to be and I am so thrilled with them...

I bought three sets, to replace my ever lasting old sets of Corelle, because I got tired of the old "cottage" design; they been arround fo almost 15 years now. I remodeled my kitchen so I'm replacing everything; light weight, great design, very happy with the product.Not so happy with the delay of site to store delivery; nobody said anything, but I believe that is "Sandy's fault", the big storm that we had last week. I'm going to use them for the first time @ Thaksgiving. So excited!

I told my daughter I wanted to get rid of my old dishes. They were very, very heavy and really hard to wash. Food stuck to my old ones and made them hard to wash. (They were stonewear). I guess my daughter had Corelle dishes before and mentioned they were light, had really nice designs, weren't too expensive and may be a good choice. I don't get out much anymore. She has a computer (I don't and don't want one either). I'm 84 years old and not getting one. She wanted to take me to the store to see them, but it's too far for me to walk. She showed me different ones on the computer and thought the square plates were nice and different. After seeing different patterns, she found this one. They are really nice. It would be nice if the bowl had the flowers on it, but they dont. These are very light and so far, easy to wash. She said they don't break very easily either, which is good since I sometimes drop things in the sink. They stack much better than my old ones too. The pattern reminds me of something you would see a long time ago. The pattern isn't to dark or bright. I think they are a nice choice for anyone. My daughter really likes them too. I plan on getting another set of them.

These are so pretty but the large plates are too large! I had trouble fitting them in the dishwasher. And they were too big for my cupboard. The desert plate was a better size for dinner plate.

Nice size mugs,bowls are on the large size, and the dessert plates you can use as a dinner plate. But I like the square plates they fit in the cabinet so much better. The pattern looks just like it does on website.

order them online as they were $10 cheaper on walmart.com, got them with in a week in near by walmart, great service. as for plates they are super durable, the design is very modern, love them, use them every day with 3 kids, no complaints. definietly recommend them. im going to order 2 more sets :)

I did a lot of research online prior to making this purchase and for the price I could not find anything better than this set. Correlle dishes are thin, lightweight and unbreakable. The only negative thing about this set is that the coffee cups are not as thin and lightweight as they used to be in original correlle sets made twenty years ago. But of course they are larger and still not as heavy as your typical coffee mug. The set consists of: 4 large plates, 4 salad plates, 4 bowls and 4 coffee mugs.
