I have purchased several Straight Talk phones and recommended them to several friends and family members. Now I am sorry I ever heard of them. If you actually use any Data on your phone, they will turn it off and laugh at you when you complain. Their "Customer Service" is the worst I have ever had the displeasure to experience.

Straight Talk phone service has been unreliable on my Samsung Galaxy with my phone suddenly losing ability to make/receive calls. ST customer service would be funny if it were not so pathetic.
Look elsewhere for phone service if you need a phone that works everyday.

If you have not dumped your BIG CELL CARRIER NAME...you are throwing money away. It's as simple as that, we are paying half of what we were paying with AT&T. We went from almost $180 a month to $90 a month except we have unlimited text, data and minutes now and we use the same AT&T service! I also bought more minutes online from the Walmart site and saved an additional 5% on my minutes. Incredible deal folks, don't pass this up unless you enjoy throwing away money...

This is a great deal. It is extremely nice to pay this one time cost and have three months of unlimited minutes, text, and data. I might even buy a card with more months next time. I have never had a problem with service either. Why would anyone go with the major carriers and pay double the price for less service.

Barely worth the frustration

I saved about two dollars a month over the cost of the monthly plan, so it's not a huge savings. What was annoying is that when purchasing, it was refused twice, once using my card and then paypal. They need to say that their satellite communications are down, otherwise the customer assumes it is her problem. The third time, the transaction went through but since it went to my spam folder, I didn't know until I went digging for it after two days. I would not recommend this to my friends due to the frustration level.

This is the best value out there in terms of text, talk and web access. The data portion is not truly unlimited. I have found as the end of each month gets close I am not allowed to open pictures sent to me of my grandsons until the beginning of the new month. Since I receive four or five pictures a month this seems a bit stingy, but all in all I will keep the plan as I am not limited on calling them. :)

I spent 700 for me and my son a phone - thought I was getting a good deal - all I got was , so far , over a weeks worth of trouble - no reception - horrible customer service - useless customer service - customer service that speaks horrible English - customer service that does nothing for you oh, did I mention bad customer service - I wish I NEVER would have chosen Straight Talk. It is just worthless and frustrating all the way around

Great way to get your minutes without having to leave home. Excellent phone service with Straight Talk. I find it cheaper to either buy the card at Walmart or online rather than going thru the Straight Talk phone number as it is a bit more expensive. Highly recommend it to everyone.

I have a basic question that will probably sound stupid but would appreciate anyone's anwer that will help.
I want to try this service but do not know if I have to buy a SIM card separate? I also do not understand how I designate the phone number area code I would want, etc. I have never used a service like this before.
