I love this calculator! My whole Algerbra 2 class uses these (well, some use graphing caculators). These are very convinent, lightweight, easy to use, and an overall very good value!

My daughter bought one of these for her freshman chemistry class. It has what I consider a major flaw: you have to be very careful with using scientific notation in calculations or you can get incorrect answers. A number in scientific format (i.e. nnn X10^x) that is in the denominator of a fraction will have the exponent flipped to the numerator and give you the wrong answer. You can force the correct answer by putting all numbers in scientific notation inside their own set of parentheses. It's pretty confusing for someone just learning.

Good value for this calculator. This is my "backup" calculator in case my other fails. I have had the non-solar version and its battery died after a couple of years. The solar version should remedy that. It does simple 2 variable stats, fractions and uses normal notation. Easy to use and become oriented with. Con: does not do simple conversions (i.e. F to C, inches to cm)

I bought this calculator to have on tests where graphing calculators were not allowed, such as the FE exam. it has a good range of functions; my only beef with it is that sometimes the keys don't register and you have to slow down while typing. all around a good calc to have around to do random calculations, but no matrix mode

I bought this calculator since it is one recommended to be used in the Professional Engineering (P.E) exam. It's the cheapest one but its a good one. I recomend it.

I gave this as a gift to my friend, and he uses it all the time. It is a huge improvement from one-line calculators because you can see what you type in, and can catch and correct mistakes early. The calculator is very user-friendly.

Very good calculator, I bought one for a friend, because I already had mine, for more than 2 years, and I never had problems. It was always very useful. I do recommend. Oh, and about the shipment, was really fast, much less than the time foreseen; maybe the address is close to the distribution center, but the fact is that it was very fast.

When I looked at it I didn't understand it at all. My daughter ( the one I bought it for) said the same thing my son did last year. It's great. It' s so easy to use. I never thought that something that looks so confusing could be such a wonderful asset in my children's lives for schoolwork. I highly recommend it. :)

I'm buying my second one, my first one lasted over eight years. Bought my first one before I started college and now I'm an engineer and use it a couple of times a week. It does all basic math functions, trig in degrees/radians, plus 1 and 2 variable statistical calculations. Most professors allow it's use on tests (unlike many graphing calcs). Scientific, engineerng and floating notation. Has more than one memory slot (five). Has 2-line 10 digit display and gives you backspace, insert and other nice functions so you don't have to "start over" when entering long problems. Solar with battery back-up when there isn't enough light. Overall exceptional calculator for about 15 dollars. What more can you ask for?

I found the Texas Instruments TI-30X IIS Scientific Calculator, that I recently purchased for my son, to be a really good buy. It gets the basic job done, including calculations needed for pre-Algebra/Basic Algebra. And the calculator's operation guide provides instructions for its use that are fairly easy to follow!
