We loved it; it was easy to use and safe for the animal; how ever he was not happy about having it on If I had known about this product sooner I would have gotten him used to it at an earlier age. Needless to say we have a spoiled Guinea Pig. But he is learning to leave it on.

Not for smart animals

I loved the idea of this and had been looking for something similar for a while. I tried the harnesses for small dogs before finding this but couldn't get it around him since the neck to body proportions are quite different in dogs and guinea pigs. It only took me a couple minutes of my piggy squirming to get it on, which was better than I expected. He refused to walk while on it because he's spoiled rotten. If you haven't had your pig long it may respond better. He figured out that by shimmying and walking backward he could easily escape in less than 5 seconds. Because he refuses to move unless he's escaping I don't use the product anymore, but a less spoiled rotten guinea pig may do well with it.
