I used this slow cooker to make turkey, I think I put too much water because my turkey looked like soup will try again next time. Turkey was very tender. The top didn't seem to be really sealed so I cooked on high.

We've made several stews. It cooks evenly as expected and the three temps (high, low, warm) are consistent. I like its looks; the black/silver model blends well in my kitchen. The oval shape eases the use of counter space. My reason for giving it a 4 for durability is that the metal shell is lightweight and a bit fragile. The crock, however, is heavy and handsome. I advise to stir with a soft spoon or spatula to keep the crock surface intact. The lid has a rubber edge (careful with that, too) so the lid seals well. A vent in the lid releases steam. The cord is short, about 16 inches. All in all, works well, cleans easily, don't throw it around :) and it should last. Good buy so far.

Have had many crock-pots in the last 45 years. This one works fine. One difference now is most (including this one) have rubber gaskets around the lid ~ I do not understand why. Also, this has a steam escape hole in the lid ~ I do not understand why. I wanted a 5 Qt. Have cooked chicken breasts in red sauce, chicken breasts in cream sauce, & spaghetti. Works fine. I prefer the "rubber band" lid holder vs the new fangled attachments on the crock pot & the lid (seems like a gross food catcher). Best price around.

I was worried about the size and features when I initially purchased the cooker. But having received and used it; it works great. It plainly and simply does what it is supposed to do. The meat turned out very tender. Clean up is a breeze. So far no complaints.

Looks good, performs well, nice price. Can't tell about durability yet, but it seems sturdy, so we're hoping it holds up. The ceramic pot has a rough bottom surface, so don't slide it along an unprotected countertop when you remove the pot to serve from it.
A KEEP WARM feature would be nice. Wish the silver model had been in stock in the store. Wish the ship-to-store feature had worked for this. Otherwise, no complaints.

I just cooked a 3lb roast (although the recipe called for 2lbs) and it literally fell apart, it was so juicy and tender. I love this product and will probably use it at least once a week. It would be nice if it had an indicator light and came with more recipes but those issues are really not a big deal.

I got the oval size instead of the round one as one of the reviews mentioned that you can put a whole chicken into it but after receiving this product, I do wish I got the round one instead as it saves more space & I should have remembered that I don't cook a whole chicken that often.
But so far, this pot is working just fine.
I do wish the glass lid would fit into the pot to create a better seal & I would prefer the seal to be made of stainless steel rather than a rubber washer that just rests on top of the pot.

This product is great for the price. I made a turkey breast in it & it came out very tender(fell off the bone) & not dry at all. This item is extremely easy to use & the cleanup is very easy as well. Can't wait to cook my next meal in my crock pot.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago and though I am not a slow cooker kinda gal..I have
used it at least twice a week..great value..lots of room and I have to have leftovers for my
Hubbies lunch every day..he says that the chicken taste better..discovered that the only
problem is that one is not enough and so I'll be going back for a second one this week...I have
a pressure cooker and have had it for two years..let's just say it makes a nice decoration for
atop the freezer..love it..where else can you find something that cooks the food to perfection
without being baby sat for 20 bucks??

This was the last one on the shelves. Hamilton Beach 5 quart. I love the black and silver because it matches my other small appliances. Its just big enough to make dinners for 8 people, including left overs. I like to make enough to freeze. High, Low and Warm settings all worked just fine. Cooker doesn't have power indicator light but it doesn't need one. Love that it can go from cooker to refrigerator to microwave. Dishwasher safe, but easy to clean in hot, soapy water in sink. All around, I give it 5 stars.
