This is the second one of these I have purchased. Nothing wrong with the other one, just needed one more. I bought the red one this time; the first one was the silver one. I like the size, because a whole chicken will fit in there. The first thing I made in the new one was boiled peanuts. I like the ceramic insert that can be removed for washing. I also like the simplicity of the cooker; easy to operate.

I bought this as a replacement, and was shocked to take it out of the package and find
a vent in the lid. There's no mention of it on the package (you can see it on the package picture if you know what you're looking at). The enclosed book doesn't mention it, and there is nothing included to plug the vent if desired. I used it one time, and had to add additional water twice during cooking, which defeats the purpose of a slow cooker! I'm returning it tomorrow.

I've used this only a few times, but so far it's great. As someone else noted, it does seem to cook a little on the hot side (on high), but it hasn't impacted anything negatively that I used it for (soup beans and pot roast.) The red color really stands out on the countertop. I would buy it again.

I've had many crockpots. This is the first to have 3 options, theres an extra one thats just for warming, then low, then high. I love it alot. I use crockpots alot. And the carrying handle is unique too. thanks so much. Very impressed here.

The rubber seal around the glass lid and the rubber band that secures the lid are great features. I'm spoiled now! waited to long to get a new slow cooker. Roasts and funeral potatoes come out perfect. Took me 3 meals and out went the old slow cooker, no turning back with the Hamilton Beach 5-Quart Portable Slow Cooker. Getter Done!!!

The Rubber strap that keeps the lid on broke the first time I used it.

I love this crock pot! I purchased it because it is oval & you can put a whole chicken in it. (I rolled up 3 inch balls of foil-3 of them) & put it in the bottom to keep the chicken from sticking to the bottom & baking it) I have made soups, pork chops in it. This crock pot is easy to clean. I would recommend it to anyone.

Since I bought this I have used it twice. My Pot Roast was perfect. The filling for Chicken fajitas was pretty good. The pot offers a large surface for meat and the depth offers room for liquid and veggies and such. I like that it has a glass lid with a gasket to keep in the heat. The red color metal finish allows you to keep on counter top if need be. It is not an eyesore like older crocks.
I would highly recommend this and it is a really good price.
