Never thought I would pay that much for a sweeper but broke down and decided get something really good versus another lame-o weak vacuum. I mean why get a new one every few years? Unit is made of polymers, but that can be good, saves alot of weight, and if they use the right ones, very durable. Like a Glock pistol can shoot 200k rounds and not break, a "plastic wonder". This thing has great suction and cleans, really clean. Cleaner than my carpet has ever been after vacuuming. No dust. And there is the NOISE issue. My old vacs were noisy, some to the point of stretching my last nerve. This thing has a whirr or whine but not particularly loud. What a relief! The attachment hose is a bit too tight maybe. Would be a nuisance if you use the baseboard attachment etc. alot till it breaks-in? But for plain vanilla carpet sweeping, it is a joy for me to use. I am glad I got it instead of a halfway-there econo sweeper after all these years. Fun to use when it cleans so thoroughly. I bought it at WALMART! Issues-picky. Wish the power switch lit up when on. A headlight of some sort would be nice.

We have a beagle with cushings (a problem that causes severe fur loss) and this vacuum has great suction and captures "fur-bunnies" I might miss!

I LOVE it, good suction, my carpets look SO clean! I use the attachment to do my wood floors instead of switching the floor setting. The hose did take a while to get used to, but I love it. I finally could reach the cobwebs high on the ceiling. I regret I didn't purchase this sooner!

Suction ok, not great, constant pet hair wrapped around brushes, having to give it haircuts weekly :( my Eureka Boss was better at picking up hair and had better suction. Overall, wish I had either gotten the Dyson pet or, saved some money, and gone with another Eureka.

I was looking for a SEALED, true hepa filtered vacuum and this one fit the need. This Dyson model has a high suction, so you can't use it on throw rugs, but it does clear out debris that has built up in carpets from lower performing vacuums. Well-thought out design, much easier to use on stairs than my 2 year old pet Bissell product.

I bought my first Dyson from Wal Mart in 2011. It is the reason I bought this one for upstairs.
Both preform beautifully!! For the one I just received the on line ordering, shipped to my door

This is an excelent vacuum. The only negative is the ease of using the wand to clean small spaces. It cleans with the wand very well, but it is not as flexible as a more traditionall vacuum. This vacuum can be dis-assembled for cleaning, but it has more parts than most vacuums. That could be a deterrent to someone who is not mechanically inclined.

I am very pleased with my new Dyson DC33 vacuum. The suction power is great and being the owner of 3 cats, and myself having allergies, I appreciate the power it has for picking up the dust, cat hair, kitty litter etc. I finally was able to remove the cat hair from the curtains where my cats jump up to look out. Over the weekend I cleaned blinds, curtains, mattress, floors-carpeted and bare both, and behind furniture too heavy to move out using various attachments. I was amazed at the amount of stuff I picked up. I did find it somewhat awkward with the lack of complete flexibility of the extension tube but it still worked great.

Cleans my tile & carpet better than any other vaccum I have owned. The price seems high but it really does work well, good investment. The hose to get in small places is a little hard to get used to, it does not streach very well. Other than that, good vaccum.

I was very happy with how easy it was to put together and the instructions that came with it for proper maintenance.
I'm very pleased with it's ability to pick up dirt on the carpet and on the hard wood floors.
When I compared it to the other dyson vacums I found that this had better suction and I'm not disappointed in the least.
Check for your self and then give it a try, I'm sure you'll keep it.

I am in love.... I told my husband that I think I love this vacuum more than I love him! It is amazing what all it picks up that my old vacuum didn't. I wish I would have bought a Dyson four years ago when we purchased our first vacuum. In the past four years, we have gone through two Eureka's, in which we had spent just as much as this Dyson cost. Well worth the money!

I love this vacuum for our floors upstairs. We have laminate/carpet/rugs up there and it works wonderful! Using this in our basement is a challenge, though. We have plush, soft, high pile carpet down there and it is soooo hard to push. It gives my husband a run for his money! Overall we like it.

I am so upset about this product I just have no words to convey it...
I am so upset about this product I just have no words to convey it...
First: I have had $40 vacuum cleaners with more suction than this.
Second: it loses suction so quickly it is not even funny, and they have the lack of decency to advertise it as "the vacuum that doesn't lose suction"
Third: it is the only vacuum cleaner I have ever seen that doesn't have a short handheld end to work on small or extreme spaces, the result is that it has very little use other than just cleaning floors and maybe some sections of the walls or ceiling... you need a good deal of clearance in order to work with the handheld end.
Fourth: it is just a torture dealing with the handheld end and the hose... you have to fight it literally.... and you will need a second person to anchor the base of the vacuum and help you struggle with the hose.
Just to give you an idea about it, I am currently installing a range-hood canopy and I needed to keep vacuuming all the dust and small debris from the job site. It was a mess: I was stepping on a ladder and had my mother try to help me anchoring the vacuum to the floor and struggle with the hose, and trying to manage the impossible long handle to see if I could get to some of the dust and after I was able to do it I had to watch how very light and small debris kept falling back from the hose because of very poor suction... at the end, I just got my cheap $25 electric lawn blower, blew the dust and debris from the work area and then used a bunch of paper towels I bought at the Dollar Tree and collected it... really?, I mean, really? I paid $400 for this... really?
