Apparently the "energy conservation" fever has hit the toaster genre as well. Whoever designed this thing was more concerned about conserving energy than toasting a slice of bread. The heating elements remain too cool for a toaster, the end result being that it toasts slowly enough that it dries your bread as much as toasts it.

The toaster seemed a little more massive than our last one, but turned out to fit in the same spot without a problem. It has all the options we wanted (settings for bagels, frozen bagels, toast, etc.) and the cool touch exterior. I'm just hoping it will last longer than the Black and Decker model we replaced with it, which only lasted a year!

I RECEIVED THIS TOASTER ON 12/14/12 AND RETURNED IT ON 12/18/12. I HAVE YET TO FIND A PERFECT TOASTER. I LIKE MY TOAST ON THE DARK SIDE...TO GET THIS TOASTER TO "DARK" IT TAKES TWO TO THREE PUSH DOWNS OF THE SLOT. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS ITEM.

I ordered this from site to store. I bought it as a gift. The brown shipping box seemed fine, once I opened that to remove toaster box; the top of box was damaged. You can't buy this in the store and I didn't have time to exchange it so I had to give my sister a damaged package. I am still upset over it. Whomever packed it, packed a already damaged package.

I got this toaster because I was use to a 4 slice toaster. It gave off a weird burning type smell for a few days. Also the bagel setting could be a bit better but other than that it seems good so far.

Love the look of this toaster..... have only used for toast and haven't gotten used to the different settings for different bread so only gave 4 for meets expectations but expect it to be a 5 when have more experience and using for frozen or one sided toasting. They don't recommend toaster pastries but give instructions for very careful use.

I never thought finding a toaster would be so hard.I started out with an Oster 4 slice,it toasted very uneven-burned one edge and didn't toast the other side.the next one made a noise and toasted both sides on the bagel setting.Then i tried the Hamilton Beach,so far it toasts great,cord length is a bit short but it works for me,the only complaint is it is big!

This is the nicest toaster we've ever owned (and the previous ones were more expensive). We have all black appliances (small and large) in our kitchen so we opted for an all black toaster. I like the fact that the cord is in the back of the toaster instead of on the side. My husband keeps raving about his "perfect" toast.
