I owned a fantastic food processor that got recalled for safety reasons. I replaced it with this food processor and consider it adequate. You can only use about half of its capacity when making sauces or anything liquid. It starts to leak down the center shaft if you fill it too full. The speed and power are great.

Puree can be best accomplished with a hand held stick blender. Absolutely the best answer to large liquid batches. You can use it right in the soup pot, or other tall containers.
