The Dyson Ball DC24 Animal Upright Vacuum is a light upright machine that can be used on most floor types and homes with pets. The handle can slide into the machine allowing you to store it in small places. This lightweight bagless vacuum cleaner has a motorized brush bar, driven by an independent motor for improved cleaning performance. The vacuum cleaner has an integrated fingertip brush control to switch the brush bar on or off. Equipped with a reversible wand, the DC24 Animal vacuum reaches even the most inaccessible areas. The ball technology used in the vacuum cleaner lets you maneuver it with ease. It also comes with a min turbine heat attachment that picks up minute pet hair. For effortless dusting, you can convert the nozzle into a brush tool using an on board accessory tool. As with all Dyson ball vacuum cleaners, the DC24 Animal vacuum has minimal loss of suction.

I bought the Dyson vacuum after hurting my back with my old vacuum it was very heavy. The Dyson is so much lighter and does a great job on my carpets, I own 3 dogs and vacuum a lot.

This is by far the best vacuum cleaner I have used. It is worth every penny I spent on it. It is so easy to use, and so ingeniously designed. You do have to empty it often, but that it more a testament of how good the vacuum cleaner is than a deficiency. One of my favorite things!

I would give this vacuum 5 stars, if I didn't spend $330 on it, but for $300+, I was expecting a bit more. I guess perhaps I was expecting a miracle.
Pros
-Strong vacuuming suction on carpets & hardwood. We have two large dogs & it gets the job done with the pet hair.
-Lightweight (I'm pregnant and had no problems lifting it up/down stairs)
-Super easy transition from hardwood to carpet (great for vacuuming kitchen & throw rugs)
-Easy to flip to the hose part to vacuum baseboards, ceilings, etc
-Does a decent job on furniture with the attached upholstery piece
-Extremely easy to push/use
-It states it has a five year warranty

-Because this vacuum sits flush with the floor, it is harder to pick up larger chunks of dirt because the dirt does not go under the suction portion of the vacuum.
-Extremely small canister so it needs to be emptied all of the time. To be fair, emptying the canister is extremely easy.
-Small head/surface coverage so you have to spend more time vacuuming (but again, it's really easy to use so it's not as big of an issue)
- Short cord, which is extremely annoying
- Changes from hardwood to the carpet setting when you don't want it to
- The head/carpet piece gets long hair tangled in it and you have to cut it out
- The filter on the vacuum needs to be cleaned once a month
-The attachments don't actually attach to the vacuum, so I must wonder how long they will take to get lost in our house...

Advice moving forward:
- To Dyson- I would rather exchange 5-10 more pounds for a retractable cord, a longer cord (at least 5 foot longer, if not 10 foot), a wider head/surface area and a larger canister.
-To other consumers- If you have the money, it's a good vacuum. I honestly cannot compare it to anything else I have owned because I've owned $20- $50 junky vacuums my whole life. It's an effective little vacuum; I'm just not sold it's the most financially efficient vacuum.
-To Walmart, thanks for the extremely fast shipping. Ordered it on Thursday and it was delivered to our door on Monday with free shipping.

This vacuum is more than worth the money, I have had mine for 3 years now and with 3 house cats, I don't know what I did without it!!! It cut my vacuuming time in half. Picks up like a charm and has made a broom for hard floors almost obsolete. I never even registered mine and had no receit for it and when a minor problem arose, I called Dyson and they found a nearby shop for me to take it and they paid for everything!!! I tell everyone it is the one purchase I did not waste my money! Dyson I LUV u!!!!!!!

I have been in search of a vacuum that is durable and would be able to efficiently pick up pet hair from all types of floor surfaces. After using the vacuum for the first time I was able to see why everyone I know has always recommended a Dyson. The DC 24 animal lived up to all the specifications and details that were described on the package. The only negative, and this may just be adjustments to using it properly, is when I switch the settings from hardwood to carpet, the vacuum seems to push any trapped hair onto the carpet. It easily picks up again but just seems to provide more work, so I am still working out the best way to use the vacuum and all the settings. So far it has lived up to and exceeded my expectations. I would 100% recommend this model to any pet owner and strongly suggest investing in a reliable vacuum!

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. What a piece of junk, been in the shop 3 times, and ALWAYS over $100 to fix. Bad power switches and now, a broken belt. Now I have found that ALL Dyson vacuums have to have the entire clutch replaced when the belt breaks, HUH???? are you kidding me ? instead of any more pricey repairs on this outrageously priced vacuum, im going to just go out and get a hoover or eureka and this heap of junk is going in the trash....... could have bought 4 other vacuums on the price of the repairs alone. AND the repair guy told us they are junk and he has them in his shop all the time. Heck with this, im back to good ole american

We have tried several different cheaper vacuum brands, just to find that they left lots of pet hair behind. We have two dogs and a cat. The first time we used it, we could actually see the carpet without a layer of hair! Would definitely recommend this to any indoor pet owner!

Great product. When I used it on my stairs, I was able to pick up an incredibly disgusting amount of dirt that I was not able to pick up with my Dirt Devil. Its small so it has the benefit of using the floor piece to vacuum rather than the handle. I would recommend this product to those of you who want a small, lightweight, affordable Dyson unit. My only issue is that I wish it had more sucking power.

The product arrived quickly and was easy to assemble. It seems to pick up dirt well. I have not tried the tools yet. It seems like it might not stand up to heavy use well but only time will tell and there is the 5 year warranty. I am happy with my purchase and do like that it is really light weight.
