This unit is pretty quick to make ice, but you have to remove it & store in your freezer or it melts. I just run a tank of water through it when I want more ice & then unplug it. I love having an endless supply of ice - a real luxury!

I previously had an Avanti icemaker and it lasted for 3 years. I ordered the Igloo site-to-store and received it very quickly. The machine does make ice quickly but it is not uniform and melts before the next batch dumps. It has run for hours and has not filled the ice basket up once. The cubes are very small even though I have it on Large setting. I am not happy with this machine at all. It looks very good but does not meet my expectations. I expected the Igloo brand to be quality but it appears not to be. We use the machine camping and our former machine worked great. It cost more than this one so I guess you get what you pay for. Anyway, this one is going to be returned for a full refund. Maybe I got a bad one, I don't know. I am not happy with this one, though and will not purchase this brand again.

Setting-up the machine was easy, but the waiting for the machine to initialize was tenuous. In the beginning (1st batch of ice cubes), which took approx. 30 mins. to produce, were too small and cubes melted before I could place cubes in freezer. My suggestion is to set cube size to large, set a timer for 1 hour, then start pulling cubes out into freezer, re-filling reservoir with water as you go. After approx. 2 hrs., the machine is primed and spits-out cubes rather quickly. In summary, I'm glad I purchased this ice maker. Note: As machine primes, it will be a bit on the noisy side, but again, the noise fades after awhile.

It makes ice fast, however sometimes when the ice is full it won't stop making ice. It is also loud when the ice falls in the pan but i can understand no ice maker will be quiet. I am overall satisfied with the product however my biggest thing is i wish it would shut off when the ice is full.

I recently purchased this Ice maker cause ours went out on our fridge and thought why buy a new part that costs hundreds of dollars when I can get one of these and use it while we camp! I started it right up and made tons of ice to fill our ice tray in our fridge and it worked great and fast. Love little ice cubes anyway!

Bought this ice maker because our freezer ice maker could not keep up with our ice useage. It is very easy to use. We had our first ice cubes within 10 minutes of taking it out of the box. Other than a few pieces of tape to remove, there was nothing to do but wipe it out and add water. I would recommend this ice maker to anyone that just doesn't seem to have enough ice on hand when you need it.

I cant afford a pellet ice maker but ended up falling in love with this one all my fellow ice chewing addict friends love it too... It is bigger ice but when you chew it, it crumbles in your mouth.. When chewing the ice At room temperature or ice has to be in water if frozen in freeze wait 5 min b4 chewing. The ice hardens bad in Alcohol but still chewable or powered.
Okay the machine itself!!! Have had 2 now.. You get what you pay for... 1st one sensor broke and then completely stopped making ice!!! Thank god I had 3 bags to hold me over. The size of ice doesn't change from small to large it all looks large.. The first few cycle ice is small and I wish ice was always that size... The bin is not too big so you have to constantly watch it so your not wasting energy.. Cleaning is easy I just clean it with Vinager and water dry it well and let it air out for the night Ice taste great!!! Hope this helps... If this one breaks may try another brand until I get my personalized kitchen with a mini sonic ice machine lol ;)

The ice maker is an excellent product. It does everything it states. It makes a ton of ice. I would recommend you first run some vinager through then use some lemon juice. After a couple cycles of each, drain the water, rinse with clean water, and wipe dry. Without doing this the ice has a metal taste to it. I thought I could run a lot of ice and it would go away but it didn't. After using the vinager and lemon juice the ice has no taste. I have added a small amount of ginger ale to the water to flavor my ice. No other issues it is a great ice maker.

Purchased in July 2012. After a few months the unit began to make very loud noises during the ice making process. Today, 4-8-13 the unit will not make ice at all. Fortunately I have the product replacement warranty, otherwise for repair I would have to mail the unit to Vernon Hills, Illinois and I'm responsible for paying shipping in both directions. In addition, I did not realize how little ice was made . It only holds two pounds of ice maximum in a cycle. So although the compact size takes up less room on the counter top, the ice capacity is half that of other machines.

Have had to purchase this 3 times now for my mom as a gift. The 1st one worked for a month. Then became so loud she returned it. The wm employee informed her that she had 1 that worked just fine. So she thought she just got the bad 1. The 2nd one never worked. I have now replaced it with a 3rd one. If this 1 does not work, we're done. Not replacing it again.

This is a great little counter top ice maker. It makes ice alot faster than I expected. Keep in mind it is small and it is not a freezer. It will keep the ice frozen all day, but pieces will begin to melt together after sitting in the ice maker for a while.
