The Igloo 4.6 cu. Ft. Refrigerator and Freezer is roomy enough for your groceries and beverages but small enough to fit almost anywhere. This Igloo mini fridge features a freezer compartment with ice cube tray and drip tray. It allows you to keep your groceries in an organized way as it features removable food shelves, a food rack, a bottle rack, and a dairy rack. An invisible door handle and adjustable legs add to the unique design of this refrigerator and freezer. The Igloo compact refrigerator features a reversible door, which can be fixed to open from either the right or left direction. You can also adjust the temperature of this Igloo mini fridge depending on the contents in it. It consumes less energy saving electricity to cut your bills.

It seemed like a reasonable price for a 4.6 cu.ft., so I decided to purchase it online. The refrigerator was purchased as a Christmas gift for my mom. I decided to open the box prior to wrapping it to make sure the unit was the right product and free of defects. Well, I'm glad I did this because there is a dent in the door. The dent appears to have taken place due to the poor packaging on the product. The "protective" covering was a plastic bag over the fridge, followed by the thin cardboard box. No Styrofoam or other protective covering for the sides, front, or back of the fridge. The top was covered by a couple of pieces of Styrofoam, and the bottom had a thin layer of Styrofoam which was damaged (the Styrofoam is the bottom of the package, not even covered with cardboard to help protect it).
The bottom door hinge came with only one screw instead of the three required to secure it, so the door falls off if you open it due to the hinge plate turning with the door. I'm going to attempt to purchase two screws and secure the hinge. I don't even know if it cools properly because it has not been plugged in yet.
I would just send it back or take it to the store in an attempt to exchange it, but neither option will work. This size white refrigerator is not in stock at any stores near my home, and a new one will not arrive before Christmas if shipped to my house or the store.
I would not recommend purchasing any Igloo refrigerator online from Walmart.

arrived very fast but had a huge dent in the bottom , the door doesnt shut to well at the top, and one of the front legs was messed up so we couldnt use it , i would have exchanged it but our walmart didnt have any with the single door, and i didnt want to wait for another i needed it now

This looked like a great buy for my small office so I ordered it online. It arrived sooner than was stated which was great but...the packaging is terrible! Multiple dents from top to bottom. Customer service was great in handling my call and issuing a p/u of the damaged fridge and shipping me a replacement. The replacement came and it too was damaged! I decided at that point to not opt for a 3rd round since I believe the problem is with the packaging. I would be a great fridge if it was packaged with some styrofoam to protect it. Absolutely no protection except on the bottom. Very disappointed, I think it would have been a perfect addition to my office. So if you order this item consider yourself warned!

Buy from Wal Mart, not Orchard

My large refrigerator of 12+ years died suddenly at a time that was extremely bad for me. So I was faced with having to get a small refrigerator to get me through. Walmart delivered this right to my door really fast. I did not have to pay more than the normal delivery charges. But a couple of years ago when I bought a small unit from Orchard, which is only a few blocks away, the store would not deliver anything without charging me an arm and a leg. I had to haul the unit into my car myself and drive it home and unload it. And then the unit broke before I ever got much use out of it! (I sure could have used it now.) Walmart, however, brought the unit right to my door. For the price, this is a great little unit. You can take out one of the shelves to make room for bigger items like milk. Just be aware some of the interior space is taken up by the unit's workings. Other than that, so far, it's a great little unit for the price. And, again, Walmart's shipping was out of sight, super fast. I would now consider Walmart as a reliable source to order appliances from online. Thanks, Walmart!

Door Closing a Problem

I purchased this refrigerator in black (same model). The top of the door would not close. You had to lift the door up to close it. I, unfortunately, had to return it because I purchased it for my grandchildren to be able to get drinks and snacks. The door closing would be a major issue. I noticed that others commented on the door as well. I hate it because it was a good deal, and I thought Igloo was a good brand.

Item delivered with a dent in the left rear corner and a dent in the door. I can't answer to the durability as I have not owned the product long enough to determine it's durability. Perhaps you should arrange for a different shipping company. This is not the first time Fed EX has either failed to deliver my purchase or delivered it in a less than new condition.

Unwelcomed Design Change

Bought current model to replace the same model I damaged in trying to defrost it. The damage to the earlier one was totally preventable and caused by me and me alone in my haste to defrost it - by scraping with a putty knife. (That's a no no!) Had I not been so impatient, it would probably still be in service.
The freezer tray in this one is flimsey plastic whereas the the earlier one was made of metal and had refrigerant running through. So foodstuff, or cold packs as in my case, could be placed on a frozen shelf. The re-design has no metal inside; the freezer refrigerant passes overhead above the plastic. I much prefer the original design.
This 4.6 cu. ft. unit still has the largest volume for the price. But the coldest this one gets is around 37.6 degrees F. Also, this current model seems to have frosted too quickly possibly preventing low temp. The frost is kinda like a blanket with the trapped air, retaining warmth. Had the MFR retained the original design, I would have rated this refrig/freezer Excellent (5 stars) vice just Good - 4 stars.

I never got to use it. The first one I ordered was very damaged on both sides and would not close. The second one I ordered was just as beat up as the other on. Since I waited almost a month to recieve two trashed refridgerators, I decided to just go to Home Depot and buy one on the spot and I am very happy with the purchase I made. I will still shop at Walmart but I won't ever order from site to store. It just isn't something my family wants to go through again. I hope someone reviews this that has some sort of pull that can fix this problem. Thanks I hope this helps.

this fridge, was all dented it looks cheap and it looked it had been used. I did get 16.00 back as a credit because we decided to keep it, do the fact that it was far to go bring it back. I would never buy anything else like that again. I do have photos.

This unit did not.work when i delivered. We had to re-box it and drive to the closest walmart, which was 45 minutes away. Maybe they used the wrong shipper, but regardless, using walmart.com in order to avoid driving to the store, did not work!!!
