The carrying handle makes this quiet radiant heater portable and thus facilitates easier transport. It also has a cord wrap on its backside for easier storage.
ordered this heater to use in my bathroom which is not a very large room. I was impressed that it only uses 400w on low and 800w on high---much less than most heaters on the market. it heats the room very well and by the time i'm getting out of the shower the room is nice and toasty even on very cold days. the best thing is that there is no fan--so no cold air gets blown around--the radiant heat just warms the air without any big air movement necessary. not sure how this would work in a large room--but it serves my purpose perfectly.

Review 3 for Optimus Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater, HEOP5210
Great Personal Heater

I am very cold-natured so this little heater is just what I was looking for. It gives a steady, gentle warmth up to around a 6-foot range. After a few minutes on "high" it's usually sufficient to turn the power to the lower setting. It does not have a thermostat; it must be manually adjusted or turned on/off. It's completely silent - no fan or blower - so it causes no distraction while I'm working or watching TV. It would be good for use in an office setting since it's so quiet. It's light in weight, very easy to move around. I would design the lift handle on the back differently: care must be taken or it can over-balance and be dropped when one picks it up. I ordered a heavy-duty extension cord - rated for 1875 watts; also available at WalMart - because, for me, the heater's 6-foot power cord was not adequate to allow flexibility as to where I could place the heater. The heater is rated at 800 watts, but the manual calls for at least an 1875-watt extension cord, if one is to be used. I don't believe this small heater is powerful enough to adequately heat a really large area, but it gradually warms up a small - aprox. 9'x12' - room even though the room is not a closed-in space. On a mild day it will raise the temperature two or three degrees, enough that the central heat does not come on. Overall, I think this heater is best for personal, direct heat, rather than heating open space. If you need to heat a large area and/or need heat fast, this may not be what you're looking for. If you want a quiet, steady source of heat to keep you "cozy" warm, this small heater should do the job.

Review 4 for Optimus Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater, HEOP5210
I like that there is a 400W and 800W setting. At low setting it heats up a little, at 800W it can heat up a small room. It's saved me a lot on electric bill, as before I was using a 1500W heater.

Review 5 for Optimus Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater, HEOP5210
The heater keeps me warm if I put it right next to me as I work at my desk. My very small office, about 10' x 12' eventually warms up, but it takes some time. I live in San Diego, which does not get very cold, but it does an adequate job for my very limited needs. I'm not sure it would be a real bargain in really cold climates that reach freezing temperatures, but adequate for Southern California. I like the fact that it doesn't break the bank financially and energy in San Diego is some of the most expensive in the U.S.

Review 7 for Optimus Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater, HEOP5210
Does not make any noise or blow any air. My cat will walk right up to it fearlessly. I did not realize how annoying the noise and wind from my ceramic heater was until I got this one. It heats much better than the ceramic heater as well and enables me to lower my thermostat if it is near me. If it is quite chilly, it may give a "fireplace" effect, where your front is cozy but you've got a chill in your back, but it's great if you're sitting on a sofa or armchair when one side of you is protected. Also it is fairly economical, since it gives the same heat at its minimum 400-watt setting than my Pelonis ceramic heater's 1500 watts did--and quite a bit more at its maximum 800-watt setting. Walmart's price was excellent and they shipped very very quickly. Quite satisfied.

Review 10 for Optimus Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater, HEOP5210
I bought this heater for my cubicle at work, because it's usually cold in our building. I'm now toasty warm. I love that it doesn't make a sound. Even though it doesn't have a fan, the radiant heat projects outward. I'm enjoying it!

Review 12 for Optimus Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater, HEOP5210
Bought this to use in the master bathroom. The room is 14 x 10. It heats that room up perfectly. I really like that there is no fan, just radiant heat. A fan on a heater just makes you colder. Looks nice and it's a great price. It also does not use a lot of amps. So it is economical to use.

Review 16 for Optimus Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater, HEOP5210
It is small. No moving parts to make noise or wear out. The best part is the power rating 400 or 800 watts. All the other heaters are 750.1500 and require a separate outlet. This one can share and produces the right amount of heat for under a desk or a small bathroom.

Review 17 for Optimus Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater, HEOP5210
This light little heater has helped me enormously. I have a draughty basement room to heat and although it doesn't heat the entire room, the area it does warm up is nice and toasty. It arrived within 4 days which I thought was wonderful, as the temps in CO were horrendous. The two settings (400W and 800W) are perfect to warm things up. I can't comment on the electricity it uses as I've not see a bill yet. It is very light and easy to move around without it getting too hot to handle. At $30 this was a bargain.

Review 18 for Optimus Electric Infrared Quartz Radiant Heater, HEOP5210
I use it in my mancave room in my basement, it's kind of a small room (15 by 15), but if I close the door and leave it on high it gets too warm. And that's during a Michigan winter. For its size, it can kick out some great heat. Once again, simply amazing
