Amazing Laptop!

I've had this computer for about a year now and I wanted to wait a while before writing a review. I must say, this computer is pretty amazing. Not only is the design beautiful but it's very fast and had very good battery life. Recently, my sister dropped it, so now I have to get a new battery but that's okay. This computer was totally worth the money and my whole family always wants to use it. I've gotten plenty compliments on it too. Some people think its a skin from skinit.com at first or like a cover but when I tell them it actually came like this they're pretty shocked. I'm glad to be the center of attention for a while. Very satisfied.

I am a college student. I purchased this laptop based on reviews, the specs, and yes the prettiness of it. I have had this laptop almost a year, so I know what I am talking about. The first issue: The webcam. The webcam is not HD. That is my fault for not reading that in the description. However, the camera on this laptop is very low quality.
A few months into having this laptop, I came across a very strange issue. When the laptop was opened, or came back from the sleep state, a purple/pink haze would cover the screen and looked as if the screen was trying to refresh itself. It stopped almost as soon as you moved the mouse, so I ignored it. However it started getting worse and movement of the mouse wouldn't stop it. Also the laptop keyboard is really flimsy and the space bar was bowed after 6 months. It is still under the 1 year warranty so I contacted HP. Before this review goes further, please let it be known that I work in information technology and I work with computers on a daily basis, so I know somewhat what I am talking about. I contacted HP and told them the issue. They wanted me to go through the steps of updating the bios (which was current). When I informed them of that, and explained that it was a hardware issue, they went ahead and authorized me to send in my laptop. I sent it in and after they received it, the page to keep track of my repair told me it was ready to be shipped back to me a day later. It had a tracking number and everything. I waited...and waited. So while it was ready a day later, HP didn't ship it until 3 days after they said they would. When I finally got it back, all they did was replace the keyboard. They did nothing to the screen, but swore up and down that it would fix my problem. It didn't. Within a week I was having the same issue, and it was more frequent than it was before I shipped it! I called HP, refused to have a regular person help me and they escalated my case. The person I was (am) dealing with had me send my laptop back again (and they used Fed-Ex one day shipping). When it got there, it only took one day again and they shipped it back. Looking at the paperwork all they did (AGAIN) was replace the keyboard. This time when I opened my laptop and turned it on, the haze and pink lines were there again instantly. This is where I am at in this process now. The person that I am working with said after this time, if it is not fixed, he can go ahead and authorize me getting a new laptop. In the midst of all this, I have missed programming assignments, and other homeworking dealing with this nonsense. All this laptop needed from the get-go was a new motherboard. They have probably spent twice the cost of a new motherboard in all the one day shipping they have done. I don't know what kind of techs HP has working for them, but someone needs to let them know that a KEYBOARD DOES NOT FIX ALL!

I am a university student and this laptop is perfect! It's fast and super easy to use. The only piece of criticism I have is that the touch pad/mouse pad can be a little touchy. So I just use a mouse when I need to. Other than that, I absolutely LOVE this laptop! I've been researching it for a couple months and it has met every one of my expectations.

Very unique laptop

I really like this laptop, the specs were very appealing to me. I like HP's and I needed a GREAT laptop for my web development & programming. I upgraded my system to 8GB, not seeing a huge difference now since I only had CS5 & Expression Studio on it but I know going forward it will be a of great use. I also have a 500GB external HD that I use with it. I definitely like the unique design very feminine I receive lots of compliments on the laptop. I also had a wireless mouse thats Purple and has a flower design so they make a great pair. Screen resolution is great, haven't use the Webcam yet but I'm sure it's good knowing HP. I think considering all you get with this laptop ie. Windows 7 and the upgrade options, you get a great laptop for the price. I should mention when upgrading I wasn't able to use the Patriot memory chips, ended up with Kingston 4GB each

I had a really hard time committing to a laptop... shopped around for months. But, the moment i saw this one, I was hooked.
I've had it for about 2 months now and it's wonderful! The only thing I don't like about it is the track pad. It can be kind of annoying and it doesn't really have a way to scroll without actually going to the scroll bar at the right of the screen.

I absolutely love my laptop! Not only is it pretty, it has everything I was looking for in a laptop. Once you install all of your updates, your computer will work very smoothly and fast. I'm in my early 30's, but I could see myself purchasing this machine if I were over 50. My co-workers compliment it all of the time, even the guys have to admit it's nice. I asked our IT Rep to look at the specs before I purchased it to ensure that I wasn't just buying a pretty laptop with not enough specs.
If you're on the fence, don't be. I paid for standard shipping and my laptop arrived in 3 business days. I am really enjoying my computer. I purchased my last computer (another HP) in 98, so this has just been a real treat. I find myself using any excuse to use it. I have no complaints!
