Although I have only used this once, this once has allowed me to be able to make comprehensive comparisons from all other steam cleaners. As I have said , it is easy to use, but besides that, the thing that matters is how clean the carpets come out. Other than a professional cleaning you do not get this clean.

The Hoover Max Extract Multi-Surface Pro makes me love cleaning my carpets! It just works so wonderful and leaves my carpeting so clean and fresh smelling. I used this cleaner on the backstairs and my children room which I might add the carpeting needed immediately the most help. The stains in there were all set in and I didn't think they were going anywhere. I didn't realized how dirty carpets was until I saw the dirty water tank – yuck! I cannot wait to do the rest of our house now! I have to applaud Hoover and their Engineers with this product.

I bought this unit appx a year in a half ago. It has been in the shop more than it has been with me. It does not suck the water out of the carpet very well, the carpets are still very wet when done. The jets clog all the time. The pieces are so very fragile.

We have a Hoover carpet cleaner & used regular for 15 years. The motor is still strong as ever but finally quit extracting water from carpet. We have 2 poms the entire time & raised 2 boys using our old unit. I did some research & settled on this Hoover model. I love it, how can anyone complain and the price is icing on the cake. We gave $500-15yrs ago for our old Hoover. Hope this last that long, I couldn't believe the muddy water it pulled from my carpet & left my carpet nice and fluffy too. Can't comment on due ability-time will tell. My in laws are buying them one just like mine.

Easy to put together. Works good, the water extracted is real dirty. My husband doesn't care for the spinning thing on the hand held attachment. He said it doesn't seem powerful enough, like it doesn't spin well. All in all, from what we researched, it's pretty good and we would recommend it.

The Hoover MaxExtract Multi-Surface Deep Cleaner can get the job done. I have heavy traffic coming in and out of my house during the seasons. It's really bad when the weather isn't looking good outside. However, the MaxExtract can get all of the dirt and substance from my carpets. Spills, shoe tracks, and even deep, embedded stains came up with ease. The design makes it easy to maneuver and dual tanks help me keep track of when I need to refill fresh water, empty the dirty water, and refill the solution. There was a point where water was leaking. My guess to it was I was putting the tank in wrong. But since I was cleaning, I didn't see anything totally wrong with it. It did an extraordinary job on my carpets. I am glad becasue this was worth the purchase.

I got this as an early Valentine gift and I've got to say, it may not last as long as a diamond but I was just as happy to get it.
I've been shopping around for a cleaner but finally decided on this one because of how easy it was to clean after the job is done. All the pieces snap on and off just like it promises to and all you have to do is give it a squirt with your sink sprayer. If you've ever had to try to clean another carpet cleaner you'll understand why I was so psyched that the cleanup took about 2 minutes from unplugging it to putting it away.
I did have the problem that a few other reviewers had about the brushes not spinning but my problem was easily resolved by turning the machine on and lowering the handle as if I were going to use the machine.
Once that was resolved (with a little fiddling) it did a great job on my carpets, which are light beige and a nightmare to keep clean with a Welch Corgie, two cats, a seven year old and a mechanic for a husband. Not to mention our driveway is spotted with red clay. I did have to refill the tank a few times but overall it pulled up 99% of the spots on my carpet so I'm very pleased. No more elbow grease required.
Oh! Another plus was that, inside the clean water tank is a seperate detergent canister so it keeps the two seperate. This was awesome for me since I tend to over estimate how much I'll need and end up throwing out half a tank of detergent and water with the other models I've used. This was quite a value for the money spent since we caught it on sale.

Just bought one Friday. Friday night I cleaned the living room. It is Sunday morning and the carpet is still soaking wet. It does NOT live up to the claims of quick drying or the laughable "no more wet socks" claim. I may have to call a professional to get the carpet dry before company arrives Wednesday.
It leaks water and cleaning fluid out of the back of the machine. DO NOT leave it sitting with water and cleaner in it. It will lowly leak all out onto your carpet.
It did a decent job of actually cleaning the floor, but the brushes stopped 3 times and just fell off twice.
I really am disappointed in the quality of this machine.

I honestly did not think any thing could get up the stains in the carpet , that consisted of dog stains , and others, dirt from shoes, and food being spilled,,, well this thing NOT ONLY got the stains up,but it revitalized the carpet, its nice and soft .the only thing it could not get out was the orange and cherry stained cool aid spills, but thats fine, they are covered by furniture, lol... great item,,

Doesn't work miracles but it comes close. For the price of one professional cleaning it's ok to have to shampoo twice to get the tough stuff out. Can't answer for durability but it's worked on the 4 occasions we used it. Glad I paid a little more for the model with twice as many brushes.

After having a Bissel pro heat carpet cleaner, I expected the usual difficulty trying to clean the machine after use. What a surprise! Not only did the machine do a great job, the machine was made with the consumer in mind. All of the components were easy to take apart and clean. I actual look forward to doing this otherwise tedious job. This is a great machine.

I really, really wanted this shampooer. I was absolutely determined to buy a Hoover. I bought it at the local store and brought it home. I used it a couple times and it was great. However, I started to use it the for the THIRD time and it made a horrible noise!! I had only used it twice!! My husband checked it out that weekend while he was home from work and he thinks it is DONE!!!! I am astonished because Hoover has always been a favorite with me and I have NEVER been dissatisfied with their products. I will be posting the outcome of this situation.

This cleaner works better and is easier to use than any I've owned before. It really gets the carpets clean, and cleaning up the machine after use is easy because it's simple to remove the brushes and nozzle. A unique feature is the two-piece dirty water tank. It's much easier to clean out because it comes apart. It's the most expensive cleaner I've ever bought, but you get what you pay for.
