Not sure if it's just the one I got, but the sensor did not work well and had to push the button. Returned the product within days. I called for support and little to no help.

This Trash Can is awesome. I am glad that I read the reviews and was told to get batteries first. It shipped faster than expected which was nice and was in great condition.
Both trash cans have been terrific.
I use the little one in the bathroom which is so much nicer

Worth the Money

I bought the larger trash can from Costco about eight years ago for about $50. We love it and we have not had to replace anything but the batteries. My family liked it so much they all bought one. The 13 gallon bags fits nicely and it is slim enough not to be intrusive. When the average stainless steel can cost $50 and above why not by this one and not have to touch the can. For me this was a great buy!

Don't forget to buy 3-C's and 2-D batteries, (not included) because you'll want to use these trash cans as soon as you get them! I've had them only a few weeks and I love how the kids love to throw away their trash now! It is so clean because you don't have to touch the can until you empty the trash & notice how you don't see the trashbag hanging over the side of the can. It is conceiled inside the can and we have noticed it actually holds more trash in the same size bags and we don't have to empty the trash as often. There are no odors ever. The trash cans match the kitchen appliances and the master bath great and check the price for two cans is great and just the right sizes.

These two trash bins look great and are working well so far, but I've only had them for a week. I was worried that the large one would open every time anyone walks by, but that doesn't happen. I read one review that says the bins need to be in bright light to work properly, but I haven't had that problem. I gave 'durability' an average rating only because I haven't had enough time to see how well these work in the long run.

I love the trash cans especially the sensor so its pretty much hands free until you have to change the bag but it is really easy to take off and put back together. The only thing is that both cans take different types of batteries that are not included which I didn't read before. I'm very pleased with both.

I've always enjoyed the automatic opening trash cans and to get two for such a great price was like hitting the mother lode!! Both fit well in the locations I am using them (kitchen and bathroom) and because the lids stay down until I "wave my hand" above them, any resident odors are also kept in check. Very clean, sleek and modern looking.

Last one of these we had stopped working after 2 years, I.e. basically after the warranty expired. Hoping this was a fluke.
But all in all, the hands free operation is very sanitary and the door shuts closed tightly, not allowing bacteria and bad smells.
The concept is good , durability, hoping is better with this model.

Easy to clean. Looks great in the kitchen. Battery lasts a long time. I always get compliments on how great it looks. The only con is you have to be very close enough to the sensor or just press the button, but not a big deal. Had it for over a year. Changed battery only twice.

Looked at a few trash cans in stores and decided to look on-line before making a purchase. I was delighted to find this duo at a price that was far more reasonable than many single kitchen trash cans. We did not want to take up precious under the counter space for a trash can, and this slim-line, automatic model is a very attractive alternative that we have been delighted with.
I was not thrilled with NineStar's gaudy silver logo shining up on the top of the smaller trash can, but my clever husband made it virtually disappear by spray painting it black to match the top of the can. Also, the site originally listed a fairly quick delivery date. After I placed the order, the date for the site to store delivery was given as a whole week later. We weren't happy about that, but were willing to deal with it since it seemed like a good value. I am delighted to say that the product was delivered to our local WalMart by the first date posted!

This is the second pair that I bought. I still have the small one from the first pair. The larger can, which gets far more use, gave out. But, it lasted three years! I thought that was pretty good. I tried another model by NineStar and was totally dissatisfied. The cover to the trash didn't seal allowing garbage smells to permeate the kitchen (YUCK!). Returned it and order this pair for a second go round. The cover seals perfectly. I couldn't be happier.

Walmart had these at my store exactly when they said they would. The trashcans seems to be better quality that what I could find locally. Even with battery power, the lids open very fast and close on there own. I definitely would recommend these to others.
