Hexbug Original

This Hexbug Robot Original bug toy offers a fun and educational way for a child to learn about the world of robotics. This unique piece can sense objects in its path and maneuver to avoid them. The Hexbug toy can hear sounds such as a hand clap or the slap of a hand on a table. The child can control the direction the micro robotic creature takes by making one of these sounds. The robot toy will keep moving forward on its six insect legs until it hits an obstacle or hears a loud noise. After bumping or hearing, it comes back in a half circle and starts moving in a different direction. Each leg terminates in a pad to protect floors and other surfaces. The device has bump sensor feelers to help it avoid obstacles. Children will enjoy hours of play with this seemingly living device. Its power comes from a 1AG13 button battery, which is included. It is intended for those ages 3 years to 8 years and from preschool to third grade.
