Quilting, free hand, attaching elastic or just straight seams every stitch is so smooth. Love the fact that I can push a button and it automatically sets stitch length and the tensions. Needle threader is perfect and threading the machine is a breeze. Whether you are a beginner or experienced this is the perfect machine!

Review 2 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
Works great if you use it properly!

So, this is my first foray into the world of sewing. I decided on this machine because of the many accessory feet it came with and the great reviews. I'm so glad I did! For one thing, buying all the different feet separately is quite expensive so this machine is quite a bargain. I also wanted to be able to return everything if it didn't work out and not get stuck with a bunch of accessories I couldn't use.
I've sewed three different knit tops so far and I've learned a lot about this machine. If you've got tension issues, make sure you're using the correct foot for the stitch you're applying! I almost returned this machine because my overcasting stitches were too loose and the tension knob wasn't helping. Until I realized that I should be using the overcasting foot, and now they're perfect. Still got tension issues? Make sure you're not using hairy thread. This machine eats hairy thread and I broke a needle proving it. New thread 100% solved the problem.
That said, this machine works great when you use it properly. It has many convenient features for beginners, like an automatic feed button. I don't even use the foot pedal anymore. I also really like the back-stitch button and the speed control. Actually, I LOVE the speed control. I think it's just so much easier when your speed is 100% predictable, it really makes it easy to get very straight and even stitches. I also really like how simple it is to thread this machine and how they've practically printed the instructions to do it on the outside. Automatic bobbin winder is another big plus that works great.
Only one thing that does not work so great is the automatic needle threader. It only worked with the needles that brother provided. All my MIL's needles and the needles I purchased have holes too low or too small for this thing to work, so I just manually thread my needles now.
Definitely recommend this machine to anyone who wants to sew apparel because it's got most of the feet you need (including a walking foot!) and it's very easy to use.

Review 3 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
I bought this CP7500 machine based on the other Walmart reviews. The LED light could be better, but I knew that when I bought it. I've just added a clip on light on a shelf that points to the machine to compensate. I found it works great! No problems. The machine comes with the optional accessories (except the 1/4 inch quilt foot) that if you bought it straight from brother wouldn't come with them. I did buy (from ebay) another 1/4 inch quilt foot as my main purpose for the machine was to quilt. I have checked with Brother & they will cover the warranty as another review said it wouldn't. For the price, it's great!

Review 4 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
Great for sewing...not suitable for quilting.

If you are looking at purchasing this machine for quilting, keep looking as this is not the machine for that. I have several Brother sewing machines, Brother embroidery machines and a Brother serger, have used Brother exclusively for the better part of thirty years with total satisfaction, until this one. For the money this is actually a nice machine. I wish I could give the star ratings based on the different parts of the machine. So, here is my take on the machine. While I have not fully explored all the functions of this machine, I have experienced the functions I purchased the machine for. I purchased this machine for quilting. I do believe that the designers at Brother have no clue what is involved in the craft of quilting. The positive aspects of this machine are that they included a walking foot, free motion foot, lots of attachments actually and ability to lower feed dogs for free motion quilt.
Now, for my opinion of the negative aspects for this machine. The small tool provided to use when changing the presser foot for the walking foot is TOTALLY USELESS. It is much shorter than the machine opening so my knuckles are interfering with the use of the tool. I gave up and found a regular screw driver. The extension table is good for supporting the weight of layers of fabric for a quilt, but the plastic table is very unstable. Vibrations from sewing cause the table to work out of the housing a little preventing it from fitting snug. Also the legs of the table are collapsible, causing it to fold flat for storage. Nice thought, but the legs do not lock in place so am constantly having to push the legs back in place. The harp, or open space between the needle and the machine is not really large enough to handle quilts. Can handle smaller projects, such as crib size or wall hangings. The described built in quilt stitches are not at all suitable for typical quilting projects. I can however see this machine working well for quilting by the block. The built in stippling stitch is too small to be of much use.
For general sewing needs I believe this to be an adequate machine for the money. It is light weight, but seems to be able to handle any type of sewing job. I will say that if I had used the machine sooner, or at least kept the box, I would return the machine for a refund as I have other machines adequate for sewing needs. For quilting however, I have invested in a different brand machine.

I love my new machine! It sews like a dream and is so quiet that you can actually hear a conversation in the same room. I have both the simple straight stitch machine and this one. They are both great!

Review 6 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
After ordering this machine my husband was able to get my old one working again and I debated with myself whether to keep it or not. I'm glad I did. The best advantages I have seen so far are being able to set it to slow speed for free-motion quilting and that the needle always stops in the down position. (maybe all machines do this now; my old one doesn't.) The only negatives are that winding the bobbin and threading the machine have more steps to go through than the old one and of course, as everyone says, the light is not bright at all. Sometimes I look underneath to see if it is even on. Overall I am enjoying this machine and it is a good value for the price.

Review 7 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
I am fairly new re: sewing and am blown away by my options and the instructions. There are specifics to define which foot and stitch I am to use in what circumstance. How cool is that? I am still playing with "everything" *lol*. Love it! Love it! I am proud of myself for doing my research and finding the machine that will meet and exceed my needs. It was delivered to my door in one day.

Review 8 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
I have altered all my tops using the twin needle for the type of fabric and was amazed at how easy it was to sew. The only problem I had was I needed to sew slower so the thread didn't get tangled at the double needle and break the thread or the needle...but that really was not a problem. The automatic threader was a nice touch too.

Review 9 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
I am VERY happy with my CP7500 Brother computerized 70 stitch sewing machine. One of the feet was missing from my package and they sent it right out to me. I am a beginner quilter, and this machine is so easy to sew on and I finally got a 1/4 inch seam perfect! I really wanted to learn to stipple on my quilts. It is something that requires practice. I wish someone would put up a video on quilting and stippling. But in every way the cp7500 lives up to all of the great reviews, and the price is great also, I have seen other more expensive machines but they do not sew any better than the CP7500. Thanks Wal-mart for another wonderful product! Texas

I have been using the CP7500 for almost 2 years, mostly home fashions and alterations. This machine has never let me down. The overcasting stitches could compete with a serger! If the machine appears "flimsy" you are in for a surprise. It is a work horse! I just finished a duvet cover with perfect buttonholes. Not so much due to my expertise, more to the credit of the CP7500. Which machine to buy can overwhelm the research buyer, it certainly is a personnel choice, but hundreds of hours of use confirms I did not go wrong buying the CP7500.

Review 12 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
I wanted to upgrade from my less expensive manual Brother sewing machine, so I did a lot of searching before deciding on this one. I am so happy with this machine! It exceeded my expectations! The instruction manual was a bit confusing for me, but I did figure it out eventually. The machine is VERY easy to use, A LOT easier then my previous machine, and its quiet! which is very important to me since I usually sew at night when my kids and husband are sleeping. With my previous machine I had to put towels under the machine just to make it less noisy, it was frustrating! The extra feet are amazing! The walking foot is a great bonus, it also comes with the guide so you can make straight lines when quilting. I am in LOVE with the extension table! Now that I have it, I cant imagine sewing without it. I was looking into buying a sewing cabinet that had a drop in for the sewing machine (which cost $400+) but with the extension piece its not necessary, it gives just enough extra space to lay the fabric on and keep it flat and straight. This machine sews great! And the "needle up/down" "reverse stitch" buttons are magic! It is so easy having the machine do it with just a touch of a button. My old machine didnt have these features, I had to do it manually. I also love that there is a speed control switch, which is good for me, because with my old machine I tended to press on the foot control too hard, which caused the machine to sew too fast, with sloppy stitches. I also love that the machine comes with a HARD cover case (no bottom on case). Its great protection when machine is not in use, and it keeps dust away. I have a travel sewing tote, so I drop the machine with the hard case in my tote, it adds a bonus protection, so that nothing in my tote hits into the machine when I travel with it (such as cables or sewing supplies). Like I said, I LOVE this machine, and you get A LOT for your money, most machines in this price rang dont include all the extras that come with this machine. Hope this helps ;)

Review 13 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
This machine comes with plenty of feet, even one for free-motion quilting, which comes in handy for me. It was less expensive to buy Site-to-Store than to buy the same machine from Amazon. And I think the manual has been updated since the reviews from Amazon. The one I received with my machine told me everything I needed to know.
I can't wait to get to use all the decorative stitches!

As a beginner I didn't find the manual as helpful as some other people posted. I need a vocabulary lesson to get threw it...lol. No problems with the machine yet but I've only tinkered around and tried out the stitches.

Read the instructions carefully, so you operate the machine correctly the first time through--then it is a smooth operation. I am enjoying quilting and sewing home furnishings on this machine.
Also, I appreciate the option of using foot or hand speed. I like the manual text and illustrations for clarity.

Review 17 for Brother 70-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine with Extension Table, CP7500
just started using mine over the weekend. What and how have I've been doing without it? I've had my Montgomery Wards (yes...I said it) for 25 years. Just did the basic zig zag and regular stitches. It was time for an upgrade. I'm glad I bought the Brother. It is awesomeness! Only problem is the auto threader is a little difficult to use or it's my own stupidity. a must must BUY!
