Bought this after reading reviews and just hoped that it lived up to the reviews. I bought another Brother sewing machine a few years ago and it just sat in the case because the instruction booklet was hard to follow and I did not know at the time, but the machine had a problem with the tension straight out of the box and needed to go into the shop. Since I assumed it was my lack of sewing knowledge, I gave up on sewing. I lost that sewing machine in a house fire, and recently decided to try my hand at sewing again due to the fact that it is hard to find decent dresses at a reasonable price for my little girl. I bought this machine online and I pulled the machine out of the box when I got it and read through the initial instructions. I have to say that I am a complete beginner. I found it very easy to follow the instruction book to get started. I love the features that come on this machine. The needle threader has been a life saver because my eyesight is not that great. The top load bobbin, the many different stiches, and the different speed settings make this the perfect option for a beginner. Absolutely no tension issues and I was able start sewing as soon as it was threaded. I love, love, love this machine. I got a lot of machine for a decent price.

this is real easy to use. it is easy to change bobbins and thread i use it for quilting and to make table runners and placemats.
the above review was made by my son in law. the machine was a gift to him as he wore out our old machine. his sewing has improved by leaps since he started using this machine. this is not a cheapie machine. it is a good in-between machine. one i think i may get when my spendy machine dies.

I love this sewing machine! I've had a blast with it since the first day and this is my first time with one. The learning curve wasn't too bad. I looked at many many youtube videos on a sewing machine that is similar (Brother project runway edition) and I learned a lot. So far I have patched my older jeans and made some swatches to see the different stitches.
Sewing a buttonhole is so easy... all you need to do is set it up correctly. Make sure the special buttonhole foot is in place and pull down the buttonhole "stop" stick that is attached to the machine. It's so easy even my husband could do it without any arms... just pressing the pedal and not even caring to feed the fabric too much.
I'm pretty sure my experience has gone by so smoothly because this machine is computerized. I like that there are 5 different foots included with the sewing machine for doing zigzags, buttonholes, sewing buttons, and sewing over the fabric for finishing the borders like a serger would. I'm going to buy a free-motion foot (which is not included) so I can try some embroidery:) Wish me luck... and if you decide to buy this machine you have got a really good value, enjoy!

This Brother sewing machine exceeded my expectations with its advanced features and reasonable cost. The user guide was so easy to follow, I had the machine threaded in no time and was stitching curtains to try it out. Some of my favorite features are the needle threader, the quick-set bobbin and visible amount of thread on it when in place, the needle position button, speed control settings and the needle always ending down at the end of a run. I am impressed by the accessories included in the kit - a total of 7 different pressure foot parts, and some specialty needles are included, saving me time and extra cost buying accessories. I am also impressed by how clearly the guide explains setting up the machine for different stitches - which pressure foot to use, pattern setting and stitch length for a particular application. I have already sewn some curtains and pillow covers with this machine and look forward to trying some machine quilting. I am really enjoying this machine and sewing again!

I am just learning to sew... I was able to learn to thread the machine and begin using it even before my sewing class. I just followed the manual. I also watched a UTube 'how to' video. It took me a little more than 15 min, probably more like 45, but I was up and running on the first try. The machine is loaded with nice features. I am still learning most of them. So far I have been pleasantly surprised and I would Highly recommend this machine. If you already sew, this machine should be a godsend.
Threading was easy.
Button stitching is a really easy - and I had never sewed a button on a machine before.
I have not tried zippers yet.
The little kit with extra needles, extra feet, stitch ripper etc - is very handy.

This sewing machine is easy and a real pleasure to use. I haven't tried any big projects yet, but I'm confident it would handle them well should I decided to do so. I purchased the Brother 60-stitch computerized sewing machine,CP6500 2 years ago.It was for my daughter for Christmas.She really like it.She made some things with it.There was a little pouch for extra needles such as different sizes,even 2 gold ones and tools and a cleaning brush.Well some how misplaced the pouch from moving the sewing maching from upstairs to downstairs.It is really puzzling in where the little pouch is in the house. Am I able to get a another pouch of the exact accessories that came with the sewing machine? I looked online with really no luck.I do not want fake knock offs only the genuine items in that pouch that came with the machine.It is a excellent sewing machine.

Purchased this machine for my daughter. She's been sewing up a storm including button holes. Easy to use and operate. Instruction manual a little confusing ,as it includes multiple models instead of instructing specifically on the one particular model. All in all, good machine and value for the price.

I purchased this sewing machine and brought it to my sewing class. The instructor said she would like one too --- it threads the needle itself. I am learning how to sew pajama pants now and wouldn't trade it for anything! Definitely recommend for any beginner.

The promotion price was $150, I think for this sewing machine, that was a great deal.
I tried most of the stitches, they worked just as described.
The machine has many build-in features, like auto-needle position, auto-threading, and auto-winding, speed adjustment. They really come in handy.

I'm a beginner, and this is my first sewing machine. But it's not hard to use at all, just follow the Manuel., and you'll start sewing right away.
One problem though, the upper threading is terribly hard. The part you have to pass the thread through is hidden inside the machine shell. I had to use my jewelry-making pliers to guide the thread through. The problem area I was mentioning is indicated in the picture. Maybe I wasn't doing it right, but there's no way to reach in there by hand to thread the machine. I had to use tools.

i bought this sewing machine strictly on the reviews of other buyers. i have used it 3-4 times and find it a great machine so far. the instructiuon booklet however needs redoing by some one who is able to describe the instructions more accurately so we, who are not engineers, can understand it. i had trouble with the threader but finally figured it out. the needle was not inserted properly. would recommend to anyone at this stage of my ownership. and yes, i would buy again, ive wanted a computerized machine for a reasonable price for a long time. the price is GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I haven't sewn in almost 15 years and decided to buy a sewing machine. I read the reviews on this machine and several other models and brands. This brand and model had the best reviews of all of them. It is very reasonably priced. The instructions were extremely easy to read and the machine is so much fun to operate. It is light weight compared to the machines of the past. I made two sundresses the first few days after buying this machine. What I thought was going to be difficult, ended up being so much fun. I bought a fabric square for $.99 to practice on before starting the actual garment. It was fun practicing all the different stitches. I strongly recommend this machine no matter what your sewing experience is at this time. You won't regret it.
