I used this flat iron about 2 months ago when my friend let me borrow hers because i didn't have one. let me tell you i am mixed so i have curly, nappy hair and THIS FLAT IRON KEPT IT SILKY STRAIGHT FOR 3 WEEKS!!! yesterday my mom came home with this exact one for me and I am SUPER happy and have used it already! it works great and gets really hot! you won't be let down. and for 14 dollars? GO GET ONE NOW!

I have naturally thick, curly hair, but love wearing it straight at times. I have always used a Chi flat-iron & paid an arm and a leg for them. After 3 yrs, my last Chi flat-iron shorted out and my search began for a new one. I read numerous reviews about this particular Remington flat-iron and thought I'd take a chance. I absolutely LOVE it!!! It straightens my hair perfectly on the first pass. I would recommend this flat-iron to everyone.

This is a wonderful product!! Plus my favorite color is purple :) but my hair is natural and it straightens VERY well with just 2 passes without having to turn the heat to the max. I love that it has a clip to where I can lock it closed while it cools down after use (great when you have a child running around). I recommend this to everyone!!

I don't understand why there are so many favorable reviews for this flat iron! It is a terrible item!! The plates have a texturized feel, not smooth and it snags your hair like crazy! Returned it and bought a different model.

I have very long, thick naturally wavy hair. It took me NO MORE THAN 2O MINUTES to straighten my hair with this new straightener. Funny this is IT JUST CAME IN THE MAIL TODAY and I couldn't wait to try it so I got to work as soon as I opened the box lol. Reason I bought a new straightener is because my old one was about 5 years old and just didn't seem to heat up as good anymore. That was the Remington Wet 2 Straight. My old straightener was $10 more in 2008 and this one in my honest opinion works much better! Heats up in 30 seconds! Auto shut off! My hair is silky. No flyaways or frizz. And because of the floating plates it glides so well when straightening. And don't underestimate it just because it's only 1". It made absolutely NO difference in the time to straighten my hair. I like this so much I think I might buy it for my little sister as a present :)

Smells bad, drys hair, doesn't straighten

When I first got this I was so excited because it was cheap and had great reviews. When I was checking it out it was 19.95 besides 14.95. I thought that was weird but it didn't really have anything to do with the product so I let it go. When I got home I straighten my hair. It was kinda wavy sense I slept in braids. When I tried straightening it it would straighten! I was like what?!?!?!? Then my mom came in my room and asked what was smelling so bad, and it was the straightener. I have had 3-4 straightener and this one is the only one the drys my hair out this terribly. It feels like a broom! Yes, that bad. I don't understand why this worked for everyone else but me. I try not to use this but sometimes my hair goes crazy! But I do like the color...

No pulling hair. Slides easily. Staightens good behind. I've used it bout 10 times already and still has a new burn smell. Hope this goes away it stinks yet

This iron works and it works very well, period! My daughter is mixed race, black and white, and has naturally spiral curly hair. We had it chemically straightened, which leaves her hair wavy, so we still need to blow dry and flat iron to get smooth, soft, straight hair. This flat iron delivers. It straightens quickly and easily, leaving her hair silky soft and smooth. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it doesn't have an extra outer cover to protect against the heat. We used to have a Conair straightener, and it had a layer of felt on the outside of the iron that didn't get as hot and protected against burning from accidently touching the skin. This iron does not have that feature, and even the outside of the iron gets very hot and can burn if you're not too careful. (I have to be really careful around the ears!) So if they add a heat protector layer on the outside, I'd give it 10 stars!!!

i just bought this yesterday, but after just 1 use i am in love with this straightner!!! my old one was a revlon (can't remember what model## which i thought worked pretty good at first, but then started losing heat while using and took forever to get my hair straight #and then wouldn't stay straight). being a single mom, i can't afford a high dollar straightner. all the reviews for this one looked good and figured for only $20 i could at least try it out. boy am i glad i did! i have pretty thick, naturally wavy/curly hair. with my old straightner, i had to blow dry completely before using. i went to bed with my hair wet last nite, woke up this morning to a wild crazy mess of hair. needless to say, i put this straightner to the ultimate test this morning. old straightner took me between 30-60 min to do my hair even after blow drying, i had my hair pin straight this morning in about 15 min! there is no way my old one could have tackled my hair this morning, but this one did amazing!!! my hair looks like it does after i get it done at my salon, and they use chi's there. my hair is very soft, not frizzy at all. i do use a heat protector spray every time. i used the highest setting this morning, but next time gonna try a lower setting and see how it works. this straightner did not pull on my hair, glides very smoothly. the longer plates allow you to do wider sections of hair at a time. the cord is longer and is swivel which is great also. would definitely recommend this to anyone!

The reviews for this flat iron made me want to buy the flat iron and I did, but I didn't know the plates would pull at my hair. The plates are very rough and not smooth at all! I definitely wouldn't recommend this flat iron and plan to return soon!

This sleek purple design of a flat iron is wonderful. These are the features: swivel cord, digital temperature control, lock to keep flat iron closed, temperature can go up to 410 degrees and it heats up in 30 seconds. You can also curl your hair with a flip of your wrist as well as straighten. I only have to run the flat iron on a section of my hair once to get it completely straight - that's a plus. Had my old flat iron for almost 10 years and it finally broke so it was time to purchase a new one. Being on a budget and for its name 'Remington' (their products are usually very good), I chose this one. The price was under $20.00 and it works just like an expensive flat iron. So overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. : )
