I bought this router for my mother as a gift and had to help her set it up over the phone. y only complaint is that it could have been a little more user friendly. After we got it all set up though it works great.

Love this router! works great works well if you have a gamer in the family, no drag. Everybody happy with this. We have gaming 2 laptops and pc hooked up and ipod. love it !

we needed to upgrade from a 100/10 router to run our gaming server. this netgear was recommended by one of our gaming friends. it definitely does what we want. the internet pops up so much faster than before. when gaming this netgear router gives us faster response time. this is important when playing live action games against other players. we would highly recommend this router for everyone whether you game or not. one day you may decide to try gaming and will be appreciative of this excellent router.

Router works very well and it was super easy to install. Husband thought it would take hours of intense work, (like our last one did) but it was easy and took only a few minutes. Two I Pads and two computers picked up the signal and was not a problem to shift to the new router.

Wouldn't broadcast the 500 ghz, and after searching online, found others with the same issue (only months after buying), so I returned it and got a Belkin comparable model.

Fairly easy to install but did need to contact tech support. They were prompt, courteous, and solved my problem with a quick click of the mouse. Cable installer said it is what he would recommend for those wanting to stream movies, etc. to their TV.

Perfect for streaming !!!! You just need Comcast Blast speed or above, and a 3.O Netgear modem and you will be on your way. Does not freeze up at all.... LOVE IT

Installed easy - probably the easiest of any router I've ever installed. I was able to get on line in a matter of minutes. It took longer to hook it up, which wasn't really all that difficult - it's the usual plugs and sockets game - you can't miss.
Would I recommend this to a friend? I already did!

This is an N600 Gigabit Dual-Band Wireless Router (WNDR3700) repackaged and marketed as a router for HD Video and Gaming -- a legitimate way to appeal to a wider range of customers (the box lists contents as a WNDR3700). For me it was $20 cheaper than the WNDR3700 -- a great deal. I have two of these routers that provide a wireless bridge between floors on the 5GHz frequency and provide Wireless-N (and G) service to wireless clients both on a closed wireless network and a separate guest wireless network on the 2.5GHz frequency -- all at the same time, without skipping a beat. I'm getting 80Mbps file transfer speed across the wireless bridge, which is about as fast as any non-gigabit wired connection will be.
This is a high-performance router at a very reasonable price given the performance and features it provides. It comes with a lot of features out-of-the-box and you have the capability to add even more features by installing DD-WRT firmware (if you install DD-WRT make sure you read the wiki for the WNDR3700 and the wiki for Atheros radios in general because the latter has important setup tips for WDS).
For a novice, the setup might be a little complex, but it's because the capabilities are complex, not the explanations. For the easiest setup, use the wizard/genie they provide. Make sure you update the firmware first, put a password on the router, change the name from Netgear and Netgear-5G to something else (you use one name (SSID) for both frequencies), set the channels to auto, use WPA2 wireless security, plug it up and let it run.

This router is great my house is 75ft long the router is at one end of the house my blu ray with live streaming is at the other end of the house. The wndr37av streams perfect hd video 75ft throught 5 walls one wall covered with a giant mirror to my blu ray player without ever disconnecting, freezing or pausing. From the time I turn on my blu ray player tell the time a live streaming movie starts is about 1 minute and 15 seconds.The router is a great buy dont mess around with a second class router buy the netgear WNDR37AV it is first class all the way and setup is also a breeze....

I don't understand all the whining on other sites. I haven't found anything wrong with this router. Great router everything connected to it fast. Works wonderfully smooth and a easy hookup. The help line number was easily displayed if you need it, but I didn't. Great parental controls and love the wifi off and on button. I do wish it was cheaper but I would buy it again!

I expected much greater distances than that of WiFi-G. In reality, I am only experiencing about 20-25% gain in signal strength. I still experience dropped signals on occasion. But not as often as before.
Overall, I am happy I bought this item. However, I don't think most people need this item.
