I am surprised by all the negative reviews for this product. I have 3 Vizio HD tv's in my home and purchased 3 of these blu-ray players from Wal-mart. I have been extremely happy with them. They all hooked up to our WI-FI with no trouble. I have a good internet system in my home and maybe that helps. All the apps work fantastic and we have set up VUDU, HULU and Netflix on them and love the ease of use. They stream with no problems at all. The player even notifies when upon powering it up if there are new up dates that need to be installed. I love the remote and it is also easy to use. I haven't had any problems with our Vizio products and will continue to purchase them in the future and I am currently looking at new blu-ray players for my granddaughters for Christmas gifts.

Absolute garbage. I bought one and the sound would not work and half the time it wouldn't even turn on at all. Wifi connection was always "iffy". Took it back and got another one (same model) because I had to have it replaced by Vizio--believe me, I wanted a different brand at that point. Same exact issues with the new one--sound doesn't work right, wifi connection is spotty. But now it won't work at all. It will not go to the menu screen--just the blank Vizio screen. Of course, Vizio customer service is absolutely zero help so I have to buy another one--definitely NOT A VIZIO!!!

I've had mine for over 2 years and have never had a problem with it. Its starts up a little slow, but I dont see that as a problem. I think its great.

Product is of Poor Quality movies freeze up after 45 min or the remote control stops working or it just plain goes wacko i have made VISIO aware of the problem and it seemd it is only happing to the players purchased through walmat for some unexplaned reason, thay seam to go bad durring the warienty or just out of warienty so good luck with this product.

I originally purchased this Blue-ray player @ Walmart because of it's smaller dimensions & price. I needed to have a player that was less than 16 inches wide. The player does produce an acceptable picture. That's about the only positive I can say about this player. First, it is slow to boot up. It doesn't respond well to the remote, and there is always an 8 - 10 second delay between turning on & also the opening of the tray. Also, it would never hook up to my wifi for use with its internet apps, although all other types of players have. My first Vizio stopped playing about 4 months after I purchased it. It just plainly quit responding to turning on, either with the button on the player or from the remote. I got another of the same model. I had it for about 6 months with the same exact results. It was slow to respond, and finally just quit turning on / off. An absolute waste of money. Sony and several other mfg are now offering smaller models. I would purchase one of them, as long as they have a good reputation & rating.

This is a great item and very easy to hook up to our other equipment. We ordered it thru Walmart.com and it was delivered to our area store in good time and I just love the convienience of this feature. I would recommend this player to anyone as it's a great value.

I watched blu-ray dvd on a couple different players. This was the best for all around quality. It is well worth the price. I will not hesitate recommending this to others.

I bought a Vizio blu-ray player and it was the worst thing ever made. The 1st machine I purchased couldn't read discs. I was able to return it for a replacement but then after a year, the machine stopped reading blu-ray discs and all of the apps stopped working. When I called customer support, they walked me through 2 steps and when that didn't work, they stated there was nothing they could do and proceeded to try and sell me another player! I went out and bought a Samsung instead and the product is 10 x better.

I bought 2 of these on 2/25/12 and they both started acting weird within the first few weeks and kept getting worse. On my sons we couldn't get the drawer to open to get the dvd out. We had to turn it on and off several times and it finally opened. Finally the screen went blank and wouldn't come back on. On mine whenever i put the disc in it would start the movie in the middle and sometimes the drawer wouldn't open. We took them both back to WalMart today and bought 2 Toshiba. We have 3 Vizio TV's and they are awesome. Don't know what happen to their blu ray players.

I love this Blu ray player it has a ton of application choices to choose from and I especially appreciate being able to stream from my computer! It's easy to use and has the ability to hook up to the internet with a ethernet cable, I just wish that this player came with wi-fi built in but other than that it is a great player! Very happy with it and would recommend it to all!

When I reviewed this product it had four stars. However, there was one review that rated the VIZIO as a "very poor performer", well it is. The two stars it's given now is very generous. The system takes to long to start, makes too much noise and I had to reset the Blue Ray DVD player constantly. The DVD kept getting stuck. I had to disconnect the DVD player, connect it, then wait a few minutes, then it would open. STAY AWAY!!!!!

The Blu-ray player is sufficient for my needs. Seems to be poorly constructed, I wouldn't recommend this model if you plan on using the player frequently. Simple installation and set up.

I've read some of the reviews and it sounds like a firmware issue in regards to read speed and compatibility playing Blu Ray disc. I've had similar issues but not to the point where I needed to return the product. After i updated the firmware I was able to play every Blu-ray I've inserted and the read speeds were much faster as well as switching from 2.0 to 5.1 surround through my sony sound bar and sub woofer. Only thing is no biult in wireless connection but over all I am very please with this product. Good price and a quality multifunctional device for home entertainment.

This player has gotten some really negative reviews, but I think a lot of them are unfounded. The first day or so, there was a problem with it holding internet connection, which was odd considering the fact that it's cabled and not wireless. Make sure you cable it up when you turn it on for the first time to let it download the latest firmware update, even if you don't plan on using it for internet streaming after this. I knew that the player updated it's firmware when I first turned it on and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't holding connection. Decided to check my router settings and noticed that there was a firmware update available for it also. I'm guessing that it solved the problem because since I updated the router's firmware it hasn't dropped connection once. It has frozen once or twice, but waiting patiently let it solve it's own problem. The fact is, it's an Internet-enabled, Blu-Ray player for $88! You get what you pay for, and to be honest, so far I've gotten what I wanted and expected from it.

I truly do not understand why this gets bad reviews. I love it. It works perfectly for me. I havent used the Internet Apps yet because my Vizio TV is internet connected. But it plays dvds and blu rays for me just fine...

I don't recommend this to anyone ever! First off, the remote is bulky. And the most horrible thing is that we had it for two days and the video went out. the sound worked but no picture what so ever!!!

We bought this because it seemed like a good entry into blue ray. We were wrong! It worked for about a month. We emailed costumer service and they told us how to fix it. It worked for about two months this time, and now it broke and wouldn't let me eject the disc. I had to take the cover off to get it out. This was our first Vizio product, and probably our last. Save your money and buy a more quality product.

Will play discs, poor quality buttons

Turning this thing on and off and using any buttons on the front of the model is pointless. They work slowly, not even satisfactory, and that is for a week at best. After that you'll have to use the remote for every single function. Kind of a pain in the butt if you can't find the remote or if you're standing right there in front of the player trying to put a new disc in. To sum up, buttons on face of product are useless. Sometimes even the remote doesn't work right away and you need to try it a second time to get the player to turn on or off. Annoying. There are better models out there.
