I bought these on sale for $30 so the price was great but they arent the best speakers out there, they dont have very good low bass tones at all so if your considering them for that keep looking because these distort VERY easy i run a boss audio headunit that pushes 19watt rms 50 peak and they distort big time if i get it very loud unless the bass is on zero. but for just a good flat music with highs/mids they are great really loud for how big they are and look great in my doors!

Full-range speakers aren't designed to play low.

These speakers really should have an 80Hz HPF on them and if you like it loud or want a fair amount of lower mid-range, they'll need their full 35RMS. Not meaning to be rude, but a Boss Audio HU is very low quality, getting any output that you deem reasonable with ANY speakers is a feat worth noting. The reason they distort, you aren't giving them enough power and at higher volume levels, it's likley your Boss HU produces a dirty output signal. Typical mid-grade aftermarket HU's begin to distort around 3/4 full volume, I would expect the output of the Boss to be sooner.

These speakers are very heavy on Mid-Range. I was expecting more Treble then they deliver. Also because of thier size they can't handle much Bass but I expected that.
My 6 x 9 three way Sony Xplods a very good at all ranges. My deck is a 50 watt (18 rms) Alpine. I should have bought some two way speakers instead.
