I BOUGHT THESE POTS AND PANS WINTER OF 2011 FOR WHEN I WOULD MOVE OUT IN SUMMER OF 2012. I HAVE BEEN USING THEM DAILY FOR MONTHS AND I LOVE THEM. THEN HAVE A NICE WEIGHT TO THEM, COOK FOOD WELL ( WHEN COOKED ON MED-LOW HEAT AS RECOMMENDED). THEY DO STAIN ON THE INSIDES WHEN YOU COOK BUT THAT WILL GO AWAY IF YOU FILL THE POT/PAN WITH WATER ADD 2 TBSPS. OF APPLE CIDER VINEGAR AND BOIL FOR 20-30 MINS THEN CLEAN. THIS IS A GREAT STAINLESS STEEL TRI-PLY SET FOR THE PRICE.

These are great looking pans. They feel heavy weight, and they are non-stick without being teflon coated. I have read other reviews that they discolor, but if you use a little stainless steel cleaner it will come right off. I would suggest washing them and using stainless steel cleaner when you first get them, because I think there is something on them from the factory that might be cuasing the discoloration. After you use the pans a few times they shouldn't discolor. Also, I don't put these in the dishwasher since I had a really good set of aluminum cookware that I ruined that way.

I did my research before buying a cookware set (or so I thought) which included reading all the reviews here at walmart.com. I was so excited to get my set but was immediately disappointed. Everything I cook sticks!! I am aware that this type of set doesn't require such hot temperatures so you can cook your meals using less heat but even then. I used everything from cooking oil to Pam spray-on cooking oil and it didn't matter. EVERYTHING STICKS TO PAN! I most certainly would not recommend this to anyone. Yes, appearance wise and weight wise, they are beautiful and VERY sturdy. These pans are simply not practical at all. COMPLETELY USELESS!! I am now returning them to my local store in exchange for another brand.

Another brand will not help!
"Teflon is bad for you! I'll get stainless steel! OMG everything sticks!"
It's very common nowadays, but it isn't the pans' fault. They simply require a different method of use, and are far less forgiving than anything nonstick. If you throw a stainless pan on a cold stove, put some oil and drop an egg or whatever in it and heat it up, you are in for a world of hurt and a night of hard scrubbin'. Peek around the internet for cooking techniques with stainless steel and your future cooking adventures will be far less aggravating! :)

For the price, you cannot find a better 3-ply stainless set of cookware! The fit and finish is excellent. The pans have good heft and are solid with good thickness throughout. They heat up well and bring the joys of cooking with stainless without the expense of All Clad. The outside has a nice mirror finish while the inside is satin. I don't mind this, I actually prefer satin finished insides as I won't cringe using a hard utensil.
If you haven't cooked on stainless, just follow the recommendations of others here. *HEAT* your oil before cooking in it, and use low-medium heat. These aren't the Goodwill teflons that you crank up to cook everything with. If you get something stuck, boil a little water and it'll come right out. If you have something really embedded, use a little Barkeeper's Friend and it'll come right out.
These pans should last years with proper care and take quite a beating. The only mark I have against them is the use of glass lids. Since on the larger pans they are interchangeable, making one out of steel would increase the flexibility quite a bit and allow it to be used in the oven with the lid itself. Glass lids are also annoying to clean around the silicone lip. Still, for the price, I can't knock down the overall rating, it's the best for the money out there!

I purchased these pans about a month ago and absolutely love them. I had had the kind of pans that had the nonstick surface before. No matter how careful I was, they would get marked and I would have to replace them. This time I decided to get some without the nonstick surface. They said that they were easy to clean. Well, they were right. I would recommend this product to anyone. No matter what I cook, they clean up easy. I am not only surprised but happy!

I bought these on clearance at my local Walmart because I wanted stainless steel, and I thought they would be a great deal.
First of all, food cooks well with them, but even following stainless steel cooking instructions, food sticks to it and it is very hard to get off. It also burns easily.
Second of all, they say they are dishwasher safe. After one wash, they look 20 years old. They have blue stains that won't come out, no matter what I do. The food is so hard to get off, that I find that I scrub them for 10 minutes then put them in the dishwasher, only finding out they need washed another time. Oil is very hard to get off of them. They look horrible after one use. I'm returning them.

This is after a good cleaning, and they still look like this. :( Very disappointed.

Sorry about your difficulty.......

I had similar problems with my stainless steel earlier on but now that I have learned how to cook with SS I am very pleased. When food sticks to my pots I put some sudsy water in them for about fifteen-thirty minutes and then it all comes off easily. When I burn food in them (and I mean really burn) I do the same thing and then scrape the charring off the inside of the pot with an old credit card. Works every time. My pots are at least 13 years old and don't look new but cook great on low heat.

Have you tried Bar Keeper's Friend, or something similar? I use it on my stainless steel pans once in a while and they come out looking almost new.

I have been using this cookware set for about a year. I researched as many reviews as I could find on here, Amazon and other websites. I originally decided on purchasing the Tramontina cookware set because it was recommended by America's Test Kitchen. I purchased a set and ended up returning because I didn't like the feel of the handles. I then decided to purchase the BHG set and I am truly happy with my decision. The handles are wider and provide a more secure feel when holding any of the pieces in the set. I love the 6 qt dutch oven - a perfect size for my cooking for 2 to 3 people. Stainless steel cookware does need more care for clean up than non stick but it is worth the effort, in my opinion. You also must cook at a lower heat, which I had to learn to do but knew that was the case from the reviews I read. Bar Keeper's Friend cleaner works beautifully to clean up. It's not necessary every time you use but it does need to be used to bring the finish back to a beautiful shine. If you know what you're getting into with stainless steel cookware and you want to try a set be sure to purchase a tri clad set. Based on my experience with the BHG, this set is the best. Also, I like the fact that the BHG set has glass tops that you can see through. The Tramontina has stainless steel lids. No matter what, though, the handles on either set get hot and you must use pot holders when removing the lids from the pots. For the money, I think this is an outstanding value.

I purchased this set after returning another brand. When they arrived I was just blown away. They are beautiful and very sturdy with a great weight and shine. I cannot believe the weight on these pots and pans. I have not yet used them but I am sure they will cook and clean up well. I have used 18/10 before and you must remember to use low heat and do buy some Bartenders powder to clean up the stainless steel. Although non-stick pans are easier to clean, they are not safe and do scratch. This set of Home and Garden pans are for life. Get them, you will agree.

Good set, like it well.

The pans and lids are quite durable. Cleanup can be difficult for such things as scrambled eggs, but that was not unexpected, given that this set is not non-stick.
I have found it difficult to clean around the inner rivets, and the dark ring around them makes me wonder if bacteria are growing there. That is something I did not think about it when purchasing the pans. Honestly, if I had thought about it, I probably would have purchased an alternate product with a completely smooth interior.
Still a good set, moderately-priced, heats well, durable.

Price + Quality = Excellent budget Buy!

After remodeling our kitchen, we got ourselves an induction cooktop. I compared with many stainless steel cookware with aluminum core. Specifically, the ones with bottom up to the side walls instead of bottom base only. I was tempted to buy All-Clad, but after figuring out there are many other cookware sets are comparable with the quality at much lower cost.
I came down with 4 choices:
1. Cuisinart MCP-12 MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set 2. Tramontina 8-Piece 18/10 Stainless Steel TriPly-Clad Cookware Set 3. Tramontina 10-Piece 18/10 Stainless Steel TriPly-Clad Cookware Set 4. Better Homes and Gardens 10-Piece Tri-Ply Clad 18/10 Stainless-Steel Cookware Set
Ideally, I would buy the Cuisinart MCP-12. It's due to the 3.5-quart saute pan comes with a helper handle & the Drip-Free Pouring design for the set. Of course, the additional steamer insert, larger stockpot & pan is a huge plus, but that's not important to me.
Surprisingly, I ended up with BHG 10-pc. It was mainly the glass lid (my wife prefers that) and the price. Since the price difference will allow me to buy another 5-quart saute pan. Therefore, I think the BHG 10-pc is a better deal in my case. As for Tramotina, both sets do not come with covered saute pan, therefore, it is not practical for us.

I use an electric stove and was concerned that foods such as fried potatoes, bacon and burgers might stick to the pans, but they don't. Although you do need to cook on a lower temperature. These pans are heavy duty and clean up easy. A little pricey though, so I will be watching for sales and hope to purchase additional pans. GREAT PRODUCT!!
